Simulation of very fast surge phenomena in a three-dimensional (3-D) structure requires a method based on Maxwell's equations, such as the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method or the method of moments, because circuit-equation-based methods cannot handle the phenomena. This paper uses a method of thin-wire representation of the vertical conductor system for the FDTD method which is suitable for the 3-D surge simulation. The thin-wire representation is indispensable to simulate electromagnetic surges on wires or steel frames in which the radius is smaller than a discretized space step used in the FDTD simulation. In this paper, a general surge analysis program named the virtual surge test lab based on the Maxwell's equations formulated by the FDTD method, is used to simulate the surge phenomena of a vertical conductor, including the effects of horizontal wave incidence and vertical wave incidence. Experimental results on the reduced scale model have been presented in order to compare among the simulation results by the FDTD method and the results using numerical electromagnetic code based on the MoM. 相似文献

A new monomer, octa(thiophenephenyl)silsesquioxane (OThiophenePS) was synthesized via click chemistry. The chemical structure of OThiophenePS was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopies. Electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole with OThiophenePS was performed resulting in polypyrrole-attached, polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (OPS–PPy). The spectroelectrochemical studies show that the electrochromic properties of (OPS–PPy) are superior to those of polypyrrole (PPy). This great improvement can be attributed to the more accessible doping sites and the facile ion movement during the redox switching brought by the loose packing of the PPy chains. 相似文献

This paper proposes an improved robust H 2 state feedback control synthesis for the Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) systems by attaining the affine quadratic stability. In place of standard H 2 computation in the literature, a new H 2 computation based on extended Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) is improved by means of the slack variable, where it is obtained by separation Lyapunov matrix from system matrix. State feedback H 2 synthesis is improved for the systems, and is more effective and less conservative than the common ones in the literature. Therefore, the less conservative results are obtained for gain scheduling controller design for LPV systems. A new biologically-inspired vision sensor made of one hundred “eyes” is presented, which is suitable for real-time acquisition and processing of 3-D image sequences. This device, named the Panoptic camera, consists of a layered arrangement of approximately 100 classical CMOS imagers, distributed over a hemisphere of 13 cm in diameter. The Panoptic camera is a polydioptric system where all imagers have their own vision of the world, each with a distinct focal point, which is a specific feature of the Panoptic system. This enables 3-D information recording such as omnidirectional stereoscopy or depth estimation, applying specific signal processing. The algorithms dictating the image reconstruction of an omnidirectional observer located at any point inside the hemisphere are presented. A hardware architecture which has the capability of handling these algorithms, and the flexibility to support additional image processing in real time, has been developed as a two-layer system based on FPGAs. The detail of the hardware architecture, its internal blocks, the mapping of the algorithms onto the latter elements, and the device calibration procedure are presented, along with imaging results. 相似文献

Calcium oxalate (CaOx) is the major phase in kidney stones and the primary calcium storage medium in plants. CaOx can form crystals with different lattice types, water contents, and crystal structures. However, the conditions and mechanisms leading to nucleation of particular CaOx crystals are unclear. Here, liquid-cell transmission electron microscopy and atomistic molecular dynamics simulations are used to study in situ CaOx nucleation at different conditions. The observations reveal that rhombohedral CaOx monohydrate (COM) can nucleate via a classical pathway, while square COM can nucleate via a non-classical multiphase pathway. Citrate, a kidney stone inhibitor, increases the solubility of calcium by forming calcium-citrate complexes and blocks oxalate ions from approaching calcium. The presence of multiple hydrated ionic species draws additional water molecules into nucleating CaOx dihydrate crystals. These findings reveal that by controlling the nucleation pathways one can determine the macroscale crystal structure, hydration state, and morphology of CaOx. 相似文献

This article presents a fully on-chip low-power LDO voltage regulator dedicated to remotely powered wireless cortical implants.
This regulator is stable over the full range of alternating load current and provides fast load regulation achieved by applying
a time-domain design methodology. Moreover, a new compensation technique is proposed and implemented to improve PSRR beyond
the performance levels which can be obtained using the standard cascode compensation technique. Measurement results show that
the regulator has a load regulation of 0.175 V/A, a line regulation of 0.024%, and a PSRR of 37 dB at 1 MHz power carrier
frequency. The output of the regulator settles within 10-bit accuracy of the nominal voltage (1.8 V) within 1.6 μs, at full
load transition. The total ground current including the bandgap reference circuit is 28 μA and the active chip area measures

Ideally, network bandwidth estimation algorithms should be independent of the end system performance. If end system capabilities are involved, then the measurement will be of the system throughput and will not indicate a correct assessment of network bandwidth. Packet dispersion‐based active bandwidth estimation schemes including Pathload, TOPP and pathChirp use delay correlation where the network‐induced delay on packets transmitted at certain rates is translated into bandwidth estimation. Since packet dispersion‐based active measurement schemes use delay correlation, bandwidth estimations are distorted by the host protocol stack‐induced delay variations. Studies revealed that the host protocol stack‐induced delay variations due to context switching are stovepiped in the network‐induced delay variations and impact the measurement process. This study explores the delay variations introduced by the host protocol stack in packet dispersion‐based techniques. The impact of host protocol delay variations and context switching on bandwidth estimation is analyzed and a new active bandwidth estimation tool minimizing the impact of context switching is proposed. Direct Injection Chirp (DIChirp) bypasses the TCP/IP protocol stack and directly interfaces with the network hardware. It uses the kernel for scheduling the outgoing packets, thus achieving more accurate estimation of bandwidth. Experiments revealed that the host protocol and context switching‐induced delay variations can be as high as 800µs and could result in bandwidth estimation errors near 20%. Experiments also revealed that the DIChirp is superior to the pathChirp implementation in performance estimation since the datapath utilized by DIChirp is less prone to delay variations induced by context switching. In this paper, a 9-bit 1.3 GS/s single channel SAR ADC is presented. In conventional SAR ADCs, the capacitive DAC size grows exponentially with respect to converter resolution. This results in both signal bandwidth and conversion speed reduction. The proposed architecture implements binary search through a redundant capacitive DAC for the 5 first MSBs and through programmable comparator thresholds for the remaining 4 LSBs. The DAC capacitance at the front-end remains small enough to achieve high sampling rate with increased input bandwidth. Two asynchronously clocked alternate comparators are used additionally to improve conversion speed. The ADC is designed and simulated in 28 nm FD-SOI CMOS. It consumes 4.1 mW from a 1 V supply, while achieving a SNDR of 52.1 dB and a Figure-of-Merit of 11.4 fJ/conversion-step. 相似文献
