Sensitive magnetic field sensor using 2D magnetic photonic crystal slab waveguide based on BIG/GGG structure

A kind of magnetic field sensor (MFS) using a two-dimensional (2D) magnetic photonic crystal (MPC) slab waveguide as the sensing structure is proposed and investigated numerically. The slab structure is based on bismuth iron garnet (BIG), a well-known magnetic material with effective magnetooptical (MO) properties, sandwiched with gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) as substrate. The complete photonic bandgap (PBG) of the 2D MPC is simulated and optimized for realization of polarization-independent waveguides. The simulation results show that the width and position of the complete PBG depend on the thickness of the BIG slab and the radius of the air holes used in the design. By reducing the lightwave propagation losses and enhancing the mode conversion ratio, increased sensitivity is obtained. Based on the Faraday effect, a good linear relationship is observed between the normalized output light intensity and the magnetic field strength as the gyrotropy parameter g is varied from 0.13 to 0.19, a g-range used as the sensor dynamic range. The remarkable enhancement in sensing performance due to the MO effect makes the designed device suitable for magnetic field sensing. The results are discussed to provide a basis for investigation of 2D MPC slab waveguides based on the same structure, which are of particular interest for development of highly sensitive MFSs.     

基于现场试验的水文地质参数计算可视化程序设计与应用

水文地质参数的计算工作一直是工程地质和水文地质界工程师们所关注的重点问题之一,传统的计算方法比较繁琐、费时,国内外目前也没有比较全面的水文地质求参软件,因此,本文利用Visual Basic语言研究开发了一款基于现场试验的水文地质参数计算的新型软件SHP,通过数据库调用Excel文件录入数据,利用最小二乘法原理拟合直线。实现了手动配线和自动配线两种方法求参。通过南京市玄武湖隧道工程实例的校验,结果表明,该软件实用性强、计算精度较高、人机交互简单,满足工程需要。     

镁铝比对高炉低铝渣系流动性能及热稳定性影响规律

以本钢现场高炉渣成分为基础,结合粘度测定实验和热力学分析计算,研究了不同镁铝比对高炉低铝渣流动性的影响规律,计算了镁铝比对低铝渣系粘流活化能的影响,同时结合红外光谱分析,从微观结构层面阐述了镁铝比对低铝渣热稳定性的影响机理.结果表明,炉渣粘度及熔化性温度均因镁铝比的提升表现出逐渐走低的趋势,而低铝渣的温度稳定性则因炉渣中复杂结构的解聚而愈趋稳定.     

A New Strategy for Preparation of NiAl Bronze/Zn Composite by Friction Stir Processing

In this work, we successfully prepared a NAB/Zn composite using Zn wires by friction stir processing (FSP). During FSP, Zn-containing α matrix and (Fe, Ni)Al phases and nano α and CuZn grains with the size of less than 10 nm are formed on the top surface. The average microhardness of the composite is increased by 15 pct compared with the alloy without Zn, which originates from fine grains, CuZn particles strengthening, and more β′ phase.

     

Bearing behavior and failure mechanism of squeezed branch piles

The current practice for the design of squeezed branch piles is mainly based on the calculated bearing capacity of circular piles. Insufficient considerations of the load-transfer mechanism, branch effect and failure mechanism, as well as overreliance on pile load tests, have led to conservative designs and limited application. This study performs full-scale field load tests on instrumented squeezed branch piles and shows that the shaft force curves have obvious drop steps at the branch position, indicating that the branches can effectively share the pile top load. The effects of branch position, spacing, number and diameter on the pile bearing capacity are analyzed numerically. The numerical results indicate that the squeezed branch piles have two types of failure mechanisms, i.e. individual branch failure mechanism and cylindrical failure mechanism. Further research should focus on the development of the calculation method to determine the bearing capacities of squeezed branch piles considering these two failure mechanisms.
