Micro-mesoporous aluminosilicates based on ZSM-5 zeolite, obtained by a dual template method, as well as in the presence of a dual-functional template (i.e. a Gemini-type surfactant), were tested in the oxidation of furfural with hydrogen peroxide. Even substantial changes in acidity and porosity of the catalysts result in minor variations of selectivity towards the desired products. Application of the synthesized zeolite-based materials in the oxidation of furfural with hydrogen peroxide leads to formation of 2(5H)-furanone (yield up to 28.5%) and succinic acid (up to 19.5%) as the main C4 reaction products. The kinetic model developed previously to treat the results for oxidation of furfural over sulfated zirconia was able to describe the data also for micro-mesoporous aluminosilicates.
Monitoring level of consciousness or depth of sedation is essential in modern intensive care units and emergency rooms. Current methods are based on spontaneous EEG providing only indirect information on the reactivity of the brain. Measurement of auditory event-related potentials (ERPs) has been shown to have additional potential for evaluation of the level of consciousness. Unfortunately, compact and easy-to-use devices are not commercially available. In this study a portable battery-powered device for clinical auditory ERP measurements was designed, constructed and validated. The device consists of a five-channel data logger and a 16-bit stereo audio stimulator. The signals are digitized with a 22-bit sigma-delta analogue-to-digital converter and stored to a PC Card hard disk. Prior to the in vivo application, the device was validated with extensive technical tests. Importantly, the RMS noise amplitude of the EEG channels was found to be less than 1 mivroV and the delivered auditory stimulus intensity corresponded accurately the settings (mean difference 0.2+/-0.5 dB). In addition to technical tests the device was successfully validated in vivo. To summarize, a novel portable instrument for measurement of auditory event-related potentials in intensive care environment is introduced. 相似文献
Changes in operational environment of the process industry such as decreasing selling prices, increased competition between companies and new legislation, set requirements for performance and effectiveness of the industrial production lines and processes. For the basis of this study, a life cycle profit (LCP) model of a pulp process was constructed using different kind of process information including chemical consumptions and production levels of material and energy flows in unit processes. However, all the information needed in the creation of relevant LCP model was not directly provided by information systems of the plant. In this study, neural networks was used to model pulp bleaching process and fill out missing information and furthermore to create estimators for the alkaline chemical consumption. A data-based modelling approach was applied using an example, where factors affecting the sodium hydroxide consumption in the bleaching stage were solved. The results showed that raw process data can be refined into new valuable information using computational methods and moreover to improve the accuracy of life cycle profit models. 相似文献

The effect of metal-composite debonding on low-velocity impact response, i.e. on contact force–central deflection response, deformation profiles and strains on the free surfaces was studied. We focused on type 2/1 fibre metal laminate specimens made of stainless steel and carbon fibre epoxy layers, and tested them with drop-weight impact and quasi-static indentation loadings. Local strains were measured with strain gauges and full-field strains with a 3-D digital image correlation method. In addition, finite element simulations were performed and the effects of debonding were studied by exploiting cohesive elements. Our results showed that debonding, either the initial debonding or that formed during the loading, lowers the slope of the contact force–central deflection curve during the force increase. The debonding formation during the rebound phase was shown to amplify the rebound of the impact side, i.e. to lower the ultimate post-impact deflection. The free surface strains were studied on the laminate’s lower surface at the area outside the debond damage. In terms of in-plane strains, debonding formation during impact and indentation, as well as the initial debonding, lowered the peripheral strain and resulted in a positive change in the radial strain. 相似文献
Infrequent "deviant' auditory stimuli embedded in a homogeneous sequence of "standard' sounds evoke a neuromagnetic mismatch field (MMF), which is assumed to reflect automatic change detection in the brain. We investigated whether MMFs would reveal hemispheric differences in cortical auditory processing. Seven healthy adults were studied with a whole-scalp neuromagnetometer. The sound sequence, delivered to one ear at time, contained three infrequent deviants (differing from standards in duration, frequency, or interstimulus interval) intermixed with standard tones. MMFs peaked 9-34 msec earlier in the right than in the left hemisphere, irrespective of the stimulated ear. Whereas deviants activated only one MMF source in the left hemisphere, two temporally overlapping but spatially separate sources, one in the temporal lobe and another in the inferior parietal cortex, were necessary to explain the right-hemisphere MMFs. We suggest that the bilateral MMF components originating in the supratemporal cortex are feature specific whereas the right-hemisphere parietal component reflects more global auditory change detection. The results imply hemispheric differences in sound processing and suggest stronger involvement of the right than the left hemisphere in change detection. 相似文献
In recent years the use of new technical equipment and the Internet by middle-aged people has increased. This paper presents middle-aged people’s (45 years old or older) usage of new technical equipment and analyses how their (2704 persons) symptoms are associated with the equipment. Over 70% of Finland’s middle-aged population use mobile phones daily and less than 30% use desktop computers at leisure. For example, over 80% of middle-aged people had sometimes or often experienced pain, numbness or aches in the neck and about 70% had aches in the hip and lower back. The use of new technical equipment among the group of people who are outside working life was smaller than the people’s usage in general. In the future, when new technical equipment is developed, it is important to take into account, that people (outside working life) do not use, e.g., the Internet as much as people in general. The working environment will be much more ergonomic also at home and the Internet services will be easy to use for almost everyone, even those who have little experience or knowledge of computers and the Internet. 相似文献
A method for bone strain estimation is examined in this article. The flexibility of a single bone in an otherwise rigid human
skeleton model has been studied previously by various authors. However, in the previous studies, the effect of the flexibility
of multiple bones on the musculoskeletal model behavior was ignored. This study describes a simulation method that can be
used to estimate the bone strains at both tibias and femurs of a 65-year-old Caucasian male subject. The verification of the
method is performed by the comparison of the results with other studies available in literature. The results of the study
show good correlation with the results of previous empirical studies. A damping effect of the flexible bones on the model

Moving threads is a new kind of approach for multicore processor architectures. Traditionally, each thread stays in the core
where it is created, and data is moved from the main memory via caches to each core and thread. In the moving threads approach,
each core can access only a certain portion of the main memory via its local memory block, and thus extremely lightweight
threads are moved between the cores. As a consequence, all kinds of cache coherence problems and need for read reply messages
are eliminated. Also Lamport’s sequential consistency of shared memory multiprocessor systems is achieved for free. In this
paper, we propose a processor architecture (MTPA) for the moving threads paradigm. We describe the overall structure, operation,
instruction set, and thread management mechanism as well as evaluate the proposed architecture with different functional unit
