Design of photonic crystal fibers for dispersion-related applications

A general procedure for design of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) with desirable dispersion properties is presented. The design model is based on the combination of a rigorous vector mode solver and a scaling transformation for the dispersion properties of the PCFs. In comparison with the conventional design method, the new design procedure is more efficient and can be readily automated for the purpose of design optimization. Several applications of the design procedure, e.g., the design optimization for dispersion shifted fibers, dispersion flattened fibers, and dispersion compensation fibers, are demonstrated and discussed.     

Orthogonal space-time block codes: maximum likelihood detection for unknown channels and unstructured interferences

Space-time coding (STC) schemes for communication systems employing multiple transmit and receive antennas have been attracting increased attention. The so-called orthogonal space-time block codes (OSTBCs) have been of particular interest due to their good performance and low decoding complexity. In this paper, we take a systematic maximum-likelihood (ML) approach to the decoding of OSTBC for unknown propagation channels and unknown noise and interference conditions. We derive a low-complexity ML decoding algorithm based on cyclic minimization and assisted by a minimum amount of training data. Furthermore, we discuss the design of optimal training sequences and optimal information transfer to an outer decoder. Numerical examples demonstrate the performance of our algorithm.

Investigation on compounding and application of C80-C100 high-performance concrete

This paper presents the compounding technology and application of C80-C100 high-performance concrete (HPC) containing ultra-pulverized fly ash composite (PFAC) and superplasticizer. The properties of C80-C100 HPC are also studied systematically. The experimental results indicate that this concrete has excellent workability, high strength, lower drying shrinkage, outstanding volume stability, durability, etc.

The preparation and magnetic properties of Fe-Ag granular solid using a sol-gel method

The Fe-Ag granular metal solid samples with 10% and 30% weight iron have been successfully fabricated using a sol-gel method, which are characterized by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron micrography. The average diameters of iron particles are from about a few nanometres to a few tens of nanometres controlled by the reducing temperature. The evolution of magnetic properties and microstructure during heat treating are described in detail and explained by using the superparamagnetism, single domain and multi domain theories. The magnetic anisotropy of the Fe-Ag granular solid is studied by using the law of approach to saturation. It is found that the magnetic anisotropy constant is in the order of 10⁵ J m^–3 which is higher than the value of the bulk iron and increases with the increase of reducing temperature.     

小方坯连铸机的PLC自动控制

本文对弧型小方坯连铸机工艺与设备进行了分析，介绍了连铸生产的ＰＬＣ控制系统。及其软件设计。     

湿化学法制备纳米ATO导电粉

采用非均相成核法 ,在Sn(OH) 4 晶种上均匀生长Sb掺杂Sn(OH) 4 ,制备纳米ATO粉末。以电阻测定系统研究了合成条件如掺杂浓度、反应温度、pH值、SnCl4浓度等对最终粉末电阻性能的影响。以TG DSC热分析、XRD、TEM等手段研究了晶粒生长过程 ,XRD显示为四方金红石型结构 ,平均粒径为15nm。当Sb/Sn(mol比 ) =0 .0 5 ,pH =2 ,T =60℃ ,SnCl4=1.2～ 1.8mol·L-1时 ,粉体电阻小于 0 .5Ω。
