Tenuazonic acid (TA) is a major water soluble Alternaria mycotoxin. In the present work, a method for the quantification of TA in beer by liquid chromatography–ion-trap multistage mass spectrometry after derivatization with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine is described. The method is based on a rapid workup procedure and features a LOD of 2 μg/kg without preconcentration using 400 mg of sample. Validation was performed for a working range of 8–500 μg/kg. 相似文献

Periodic cracking experiments are frequently used in the assessment of interface quality in brittle film/compliant substrate systems. Through these techniques it is possible to extract a quantitative measure of interface shear strength and therefore assess the mechanical suitability of the films for application. The influence of film thickness inhomogeneities on the crack spacing is assessed in this study. While film thickness inhomogeneities are always present in thin film systems, only nominal thickness values have been considered up to this point. By defining two separate regimes of film thickness variation, roughness and unevenness, in relation to the crack spacing, the influence of such variation on the data is analysed. The results of this analysis are then considered in reference to a model system of an amorphous alumina film on a copper substrate (AlxOy/Cu), the limits of this analysis are then discussed. 相似文献

Fine powders of WC, TaC and TaC with W and WC additives were cold-isostatically pressed to ceramic discs and pressurelessly sintered at temperatures up to 2100 °C in a second step. Afterwards, the discs were tested as crucible lid under typical AlN growth conditions. The prepared discs should be gas tight and ensure a better alignment of the thermal expansion coefficients of TaC lid and AlN.Ceramic discs densified by this method reveal a relative density up to 97%. The TaC ceramic discs without additives show a microstructure with grain sizes in the range of 10-200 μm after sintering. The grain enlargement could be reduced by W and WC additives in the range of 1-5 wt.%. The results show that the AlN boules adhere only to WC lids and tungsten containing lids with W contents higher than or equal to 3 wt.%. 相似文献

Traffic flow simulation is recently being applied to types of studies which require at the same time a large study area and models deeper than macroscopic assignments. Examples are investigations of the effects dynamic route guidance over large networks and the coupling with environmental models on large domains. The computational complexity can be reduced first by moving from microscopic to mesoscopic traffic flow models of the Payne-Cremer type. Where still more computing power is needed, parallelisation of the model may offer a solution. This paper describes a particular mesoscopic traffic flow model and its parallelisation undertaken in the ESPRIT project SIMTRAP. A new two step decomposition strategy is detailed along with its implementation using the message passing model PVM. The resulting speed-up is reported, drawing on both theoretical considerations and on measurements taken in the SIMTRAP demonstrator applications. The paper concludes with lessons learned from the experiments and directions for future work. 相似文献

Excitonic and spin excitations of single semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) currently attract attention as possible candidates for solid-state-based implementations of quantum logic devices. Due to their rather short decoherence times in the picosecond to nanosecond range, such implementations rely on using ultrafast optical pulses to probe and control coherent polarizations. We combine ultrafast spectroscopy and near-field microscopy to probe the nonlinear optical response of a single QD on a femtosecond time-scale. Transient reflectivity spectra show pronounced oscillations around the QD exciton line. These oscillations reflect phase-disturbing Coulomb interactions between the excitonic QD polarization and continuum excitations. The results show that although semiconductor QDs resemble in many respects atomic systems, Coulomb many-body interactions can contribute significantly to their optical nonlinearities on ultrashort time-scales. 相似文献

A well-known result by Stein (1956) shows that in particular situations, biased estimators can yield better parameter estimates than their generally preferred unbiased counterparts. This letter follows the same spirit, as we will stabilize the unbiased generalization error estimates by regularization and finally obtain more robust model selection criteria for learning. We trade a small bias against a larger variance reduction, which has the beneficial effect of being more precise on a single training set. We focus on the subspace information criterion (SIC), which is an unbiased estimator of the expected generalization error measured by the reproducing kernel Hilbert space norm. SIC can be applied to the kernel regression, and it was shown in earlier experiments that a small regularization of SIC has a stabilization effect. However, it remained open how to appropriately determine the degree of regularization in SIC. In this article, we derive an unbiased estimator of the expected squared error, between SIC and the expected generalization error and propose determining the degree of regularization of SIC such that the estimator of the expected squared error is minimized. Computer simulations with artificial and real data sets illustrate that the proposed method works effectively for improving the precision of SIC, especially in the high-noise-level cases. We furthermore compare the proposed method to the original SIC, the cross-validation, and an empirical Bayesian method in ridge parameter selection, with good results. 相似文献

A brain-computer interface (BCI) is a system that should in its ultimate form translate a subject's intent into a technical control signal without resorting to the classical neuromuscular communication channels. By using that signal to, e.g., control a wheelchair or a neuroprosthesis, a BCI could become a valuable tool for paralyzed patients. One approach to implement a BCI is to let users learn to self-control the amplitude of some of their brain rhythms as extracted from multichannel electroencephalogram. We present a method that estimates subject-specific spatial filters which allow for a robust extraction of the rhythm modulations. The effectiveness of the method was proved by achieving the minimum prediction error on data set IIa in the BCI Competition 2003, which consisted of data from three subjects recorded in ten sessions. 相似文献

Recently ensemble methods like ADABOOST have been applied successfully in many problems, while seemingly defying the problems of overfitting.ADABOOST rarely overfits in the low noise regime, however, we show that it clearly does so for higher noise levels. Central to the understanding of this fact is the margin distribution. ADABOOST can be viewed as a constraint gradient descent in an error function with respect to the margin. We find that ADABOOST asymptotically achieves a hard margin distribution, i.e. the algorithm concentrates its resources on a few hard-to-learn patterns that are interestingly very similar to Support Vectors. A hard margin is clearly a sub-optimal strategy in the noisy case, and regularization, in our case a mistrust in the data, must be introduced in the algorithm to alleviate the distortions that single difficult patterns (e.g. outliers) can cause to the margin distribution. We propose several regularization methods and generalizations of the original ADABOOST algorithm to achieve a soft margin. In particular we suggest (1) regularized ADABOOSTREG where the gradient decent is done directly with respect to the soft margin and (2) regularized linear and quadratic programming (LP/QP-) ADABOOST, where the soft margin is attained by introducing slack variables.Extensive simulations demonstrate that the proposed regularized ADABOOST-type algorithms are useful and yield competitive results for noisy data. 相似文献

It is found that two types of centers are formed in Si1?x Gex single crystals as a result of irradiation with fast electrons: divacancies (V 2) characteristic of silicon and the V 2 * centers; the latter are complexes of divacancies V 2 with germanium atoms (V 2Ge). It is shown that an absorption band peaked at about 5560 cm?1 is a superposition of two absorption bands that correspond to the above centers. The V 2 divacancies diffuse during isochronous heat treatment and interact with germanium atoms, thus giving rise to additional V 2 * centers. The latter have a higher thermal stability than the V 2 centers do, and their annealing temperature increases with increasing content of germanium. 相似文献
