Grid computing has emerged a new field, distinguished from conventional distributed computing. It focuses on large-scale resource sharing, innovative applications and in some cases, high performance orientation. The Grid serves as a comprehensive and complete system for organizations by which the maximum utilization of resources is achieved. The load balancing is a process which involves the resource management and an effective load distribution among the resources. Therefore, it is considered to be very important in Grid systems. For a Grid, a dynamic, distributed load balancing scheme provides deadline control for tasks. Due to the condition of deadline failure, developing, deploying, and executing long running applications over the grid remains a challenge. So, deadline failure recovery is an essential factor for Grid computing. In this paper, we propose a dynamic distributed load-balancing technique called “Enhanced GridSim with Load balancing based on Deadline Failure Recovery” (EGDFR) for computational Grids with heterogeneous resources. The proposed algorithm EGDFR is an improved version of the existing EGDC in which we perform load balancing by providing a scheduling system which includes the mechanism of recovery from deadline failure of the Gridlets. Extensive simulation experiments are conducted to quantify the performance of the proposed load-balancing strategy on the GridSim platform. Experiments have shown that the proposed system can considerably improve Grid performance in terms of total execution time, percentage gain in execution time, average response time, resubmitted time and throughput. The proposed load-balancing technique gives 7 % better performance than EGDC in case of constant number of resources, whereas in case of constant number of Gridlets, it gives 11 % better performance than EGDC.  相似文献

Faults in a rotor-bearing system due to bearings and unbalance have been classified using support vector machines (SVMs). Vibration signals on a rotor-bearing system were measured simultaneously at five different rotating speeds using seven transducers. The most sensitive feature of the vibration signals has been determined using compensation distance evaluation technique. Multi-class SVMs classification algorithm was then implemented for classification of the faults by considering SVMs created by the possible combinations of the most two sensitive features for each type of fault. By using optimal SVM parameters, the effective location of transducer among seven transducers for best classification of the faults has been investigated and found that any transducer provides a classification of 75% or better and this classification rate increases when more transducers are considered. This paper provides a robust SVM based technique using only time domain data without any additional preprocessing for classifying bearing and unbalance faults.  相似文献

A polycrystalline ceramic with a new type of complex tungsten-bronze type structure, having a general formula K2Ba2Nd2Ti4Nb4W2O30 has been prepared using a high temperature solid-state reaction route after optimizing the calcinations conditions on the basis of thermal analysis results. The material has been characterized by different experimental techniques. The formation of the compound has been confirmed using X-ray diffraction analysis. Dielectric properties (εr and tanδ) of the compound as a function of temperature at different frequencies have been carried out. Temperature dependence of dielectric constant indicates the presence of ferroelectric phase transition well above the room temperature. Complex impedance spectroscopic analysis has been carried out as a function of frequency at different temperatures to establish some correlation between the microstructure and electrical properties of the material. The nature of frequency dependence of ac conductivity obeys the Jonscher’s power law. The dc conductivity calculated from the ac conductivity spectrum shows the negative temperature coefficient of resistance behavior like a semiconductor.  相似文献

There are a number of different types of monitoring stations for checking air quality levels in urban environments. These monitoring stations usually just perform data acquisition of the measured values from the sensors and store them in the database. The processing of the measured results as well as the statistical analysis is mainly done in other places where the data come from various communication systems. Acquisition of the measured data is commonly done on-line while the processing and statistical analysis is performed off-line. As opposed to these measurement systems, this implemented device enables the acquisition and statistical processing of the measured data in real time and the results are instantly available to all users. The system indicates the air pollutants using the ARMA model. The transmission of information in the realized smart SCADA system is done by the Modbus protocol using shared variables which gives the whole system a stronger hierarchical structure.  相似文献

The present article focuses on the study of automatic generation control (AGC) of a realistic power system having a distinct combination of multi-area multi-source generating units in each control area under deregulated framework. An attempt is made in this paper to integrate reheat thermal, hydro and gas generating unit in a single control area and, then, extended this combination to five control areas. In this work, six reheat thermal, six hydro and three gas generating units are taken into account for the modeling of five-area power system. Some important physical constraints like time delay, governor dead band and generation rate constraint are imposed in the power system dynamics to get an accurate perception of the deregulated AGC subject. The highlighting features of the present work are to model, simulate, optimize and co-relate their inter-related dynamic performances for the purpose of AGC study. For such a complex AGC model, the vital role of the proposed quasi-oppositional harmony search (QOHS) algorithm, as an optimizing tool, is signified while solving the AGC problem in deregulated regime. The simplicity of the structure and acceptability of the responses of the well-known proportional–integral–derivative controller, inherently, enforces to employ in this work. The three classes of extensive deregulated cases (in the presence of load following and physical constraints) are demonstrated by examining the closed loop performance of the studied model. The simulation results show that the designed power system model may be a feasible one and the proposed QOHS algorithm may be a promising optimization technique under these circumstances.  相似文献

This article presents the automatic generation control of an unequal three area thermal system. Single stage reheat turbines and generation rate constraints of 3%/min are considered in each control area. Controllers such as Integral (I), Proportional – Integral (PI), Proportional – Integral – Derivative (PID), and Proportional – Integral – Derivative Plus Second Order Derivative (PID + DD) are treated as secondary controllers separately. A nature inspired optimization technique called Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO) algorithm is used for simultaneous optimization of the controller gains. Comparison of dynamic responses of frequencies and tie line powers corresponding to ALO optimized I, PI, PID and PID + DD controller reveal the better performance of PID + DD controller in terms of lesser settling time, peak overshoots as well as reduced oscillations. Robustness of the optimum gains of best controller obtained at nominal conditions is evaluated using sensitivity analysis. Analysis exposed that the optimum PID + DD controller gains obtained at nominal are robust and not necessary to reset again for changes in loading, parameter like inertia constant (H), size and position of disturbance. Furthermore, the performance of PID + DD controller is found better as compared to PID controller against random loading pattern condition.  相似文献

Prediction of stock index remains a challenging task of the financial time series prediction process. Random fluctuations in the stock index make it difficult to predict. Usually the time series prediction is based on the observations of past trend over a period of time. In general, the curve the time series data follows has a linear part and a non-linear part. Prediction of the linear part with past history is not a difficult task, but the prediction of non linear segments is difficult. Though different non-linear prediction models are in use, but their prediction accuracy does not improve beyond a certain level. It is observed that close enough data positions are more informative where as far away data positions mislead prediction of such non linear segments. Apart from the existing data positions, exploration of few more close enough data positions enhance the prediction accuracy of the non-linear segments significantly. In this study, an evolutionary virtual data position (EVDP) exploration method for financial time series is proposed. It uses multilayer perceptron and genetic algorithm to build this model. Performance of the proposed model is compared with three deterministic methods such as linear, Lagrange and Taylor interpolation as well as two stochastic methods such as Uniform and Gaussian method. Ten different stock indices from across the globe are used for this experiment and it is observed that in majority of the cases performance of the proposed EVDP exploration method is better. Some stylized facts exhibited by the financial time series are also documented.

Graphics processing unit (GPU) has been applied successfully in many computation and memory intensive realms due to its superior performances in float-pointing calculation, memory bandwidth and power consumption, and has great potential in power system applications. Contingency screening is a major time consuming part of contingency analysis. In the absence of relevant existing research, this paper is the first of its kind to propose a novel GPU-accelerated algorithm for direct current (DC) contingency screening. Adapting actively unique characteristics of GPU software and hardware, the proposed GPU algorithm is optimized from four aspects: data transmission, parallel task allocation, memory access, and CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) stream. Case studies on a 3012-bus system and 8503-bus system have shown that the GPU-accelerated algorithm, in compared with its counterpart CPU implementation, can achieve about 20 and 50 times speedup respectively. This highly promising performance has demonstrated that carefully designed performance tuning in conjunction with GPU programing architecture is imperative for a GPU-accelerated algorithm. The presented performance tuning strategies can be applicable to other GPU applications in power systems.  相似文献

In the present study, Taguchi approach is coupled with fuzzy-multiple attribute decision making methods for achieving better surface quality in constant cutting speed face turning of EN 1.4404 austenitic, EN 1.4462 standard duplex and EN 1.4410 super duplex stainless steels. Two typical multiple attribute decision making techniques were simultaneously adopted to determine multi-surface quality characteristics indices. The differences in rankings among derived indices are solved through converting each crisp values into trapezoidal fuzzy number and unifying them using fuzzy simple additive weight method. The fuzzy numbers are then deffuzified into crisp values employing techniques like; the spread, mode and area between centroid of centroids. Through this procedure, the decision maker is provided with necessary decision tools to optimize the cutting conditions with less sensitivity to the change of weights and no difference in ranking among the deffuzification techniques. Additionally, results of analyses of means and the validation experiments confirm that the optimum cutting conditions derived by this method produce far better surface finish than the best finish obtained during the course of experimentation. Analyses of variance results have shown the predominant effect of feed rate on surface quality. Finally, the collected chip at constant cutting speed and varying feed rates and depth of cuts has shown that friendlier-to-machine chips are obtained when machining austenitic stainless steels than duplex stainless steel grades.  相似文献

This document proposes a radiofrequency (RF) fingerprinting strategy for the proper identification of wireless devices in mobile and wireless networks. The proposed identification methods are based on the extraction of the preamble RF fingerprint of a device and its comparison with a set of already known device RF fingerprints. The identification method combines techniques for feature reduction such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Partial Least Squares regression (PLS), both based on subspace transformation, along with a similarity-based analysis. In this work, a complete procedure for RF fingerprint data extraction and analysis is provided. In addition, some experimentation with commercial Wi-Fi devices is carried out for the methods validation.  相似文献
