This paper provides a summary of recent studies concerning numerical modeling of dynamic crack-propagation, Both stationary mesh as well as moving mesh finite-element procedures are examined. Simple procedures, using a moving mesh of conventional isoparametric elements in conjunction with certain path-independent integrals for the evaluation of stress-intensity factors for a dynamically propagating crack are presented.

In order to manufacture a doubly curved sheet metal effectively, a flexible incremental roll forming process has been developed by adopting the advantages of the incremental forming process and the roll forming process by combining inherent flexibility of the incremental forming process and continuous deformation of the roll forming process. In the proposed roll forming system, a newly designed gripper system is attached in order to achieve automation and more precision manufacturing of the required sheet intended double curvature. The forming method has been further enhanced to form general quadrilateral blanks (including a square, a rectangle, a symmetrical trapezoid and an asymmetrical trapezoid, etc.) into doubly curved shapes by controlling the forming schedule developed by various experiments. 相似文献

While reuse is an effective lifecycle option in terms of reduction of environmental loads and value of reutilization, reuse has inherent difficulties. Our naive question is why component reuse of home appliances seems impossible while that of photocopiers succeeded. This paper clarifies an essential factor for successful reuse; that is, the balance between supply and demand of reusables, and proposes an index named ‘marginal reuse rate,’ which indicates upper limit of reusability. By using this index, reusability of several products is analyzed. The marginal reuse rate indicates that design of lifecycle, in addition to product design, is indispensable for successful reuse. 相似文献

This paper presents a new job release (JR) and scheduling methodology for one-stage parallel machines where sequence dependent setup times exist. A decision support system (DSS) based on job release is developed in order to enable the application of the methodology. First, mathematical programming models for both job release and job scheduling are devised. Then, due to the NP-hard nature of the problems, heuristics are proposed. As for the interaction between JR and scheduling, job scheduling is integrated with job release for the proposed heuristic solutions so that the capacity achievement provided by scheduling can be utilized for job release. In brief, product design characteristics oriented scheduling affects JR in the proposed approach. Moreover, value stream mapping (VSM) approach is used with the aim of stating the effect of the proposed methodology. Furthermore, the presented methodology was applied in a real life electric wire-harness production system. The application, based on 120-day production data, revealed that the proposed methodology provided 25% decrease in in-plant manufacturing lead time. 相似文献

In this paper, an effective strategy for fault detection of sludge volume index (SVI) sensor is proposed and tested on an experimental hardware setup in waste water treatment process (WWTP). The main objective of this fault detection strategy is to design a system which consists of the online sensors, the SVI predicting plant and fault diagnosis method. The SVI predicting plant is designed utilizing a fuzzy neural network (FNN), which is trained by a historical set of data collected during fault-free operation of WWTP. The fault diagnosis method, based on the difference between the measured concentration values and FNN predictions, allows a quick revealing of the faults. Then this proposed fault detection method is applied to a real WWTP and compared with other approaches. Space robots are in huge demand due to the rapid growth of their service targets, i.e., spacecraft. There are generally large flexible components on spacecraft, such as antenna reflectors and solar paddles. Due to the vibratility of their structure, it is challenging for a space robot with flexible appendages (the base is then called flexible-base) to capture and repair the large flexible spacecraft. After capturing, the two spacecraft with flexible appendages are connected by a space manipulator, and a compounded system is formed. In this paper, we developed a dynamic model and a closed-loop simulation system, to provide a means to verify path planning and control algorithms. Initially, the dynamic characteristics of different capturing stages (preimpact and post-impact) were analyzed. The topologies of a flexible-base space robot and the compounded system were described based on incidence and channel matrices. Secondly, the recursive dynamics was formulated and resolved by an effective numerical method. The modeling was verified by Adams’ model. Thirdly, we implemented a dynamics calculation block in Matlab/Simulink environment using the S-function package for the C program, and developed a closed-loop simulation system, which was composed of the Planning and Controller, the Multibody Dynamic, and the 3D Display modules. Finally, based on the simulation system, two typical missions—target berthing and on-orbital manipulation of the target along a circle, were simulated and evaluated. This paper proposes a magnetic mechanical capsule robot which crawls in a fluid-filled tube. The developed capsule robot employs two locomotion mechanisms simultaneously. It has spiral ribs at both ends, which are rotated by a small on-board motor. Such rotating spiral structures generate a driving force of the capsule robot. We invented a magnetic mechanical mechanism to transfer the rotational motion of the frontal part into the linear motion of the middle part. Using this original mechanism, the linearly moving part at the middle of the capsule robot generates a supportive driving force. The improved mobility is evaluated in experiments. The developed capsule robot employing multiple locomotion mechanisms moves 44% faster than the spiral motion-based capsule robot. The developed magnetic mechanical mechanism and the mobile robotic platform could be used for pipe inspection robots or medical robots. 相似文献

In this paper a new physical model for studying stick-slip is established. Based on the dynamics system of the model,the state equation of the system is presented. And simulation analysis on the influential factors of stick-slip is carried out. The relationship between stiffness ( horizontal and normal) ,dampness,mass, difference of static and kinetic coefficients of friction,driving velocity,and amplitude in normal direction is analyzed and parameters of stick-slip are evaluated. Results show that stick-slip can be reduced by improving horizontal stiffness,decreasing dampness,reducing mass,cutting down the difference of static and kinetic coefficients of friction,properly choosing the vertical stiffness and properly inducting the normal oscillation. 相似文献

Shape memory alloy ( SMA) torsion actuator is one of the key approaches realizing adaptive wings in airplanes. In this paper,the actuator is made up of SMA wires and a thin-walled tube,in which the SMA wires are twisted and affixed around the surface of the tube at an angle referenced to the center axis of the tube. A thermo-mechanical constitutive model is developed to predict the thermo-mechanical behaviors of the SMA torsion actuator based on the knowledge of solid mechanics. The relationship between the torsion-angle and tem- perature is numerically calculated by using the thermo-mechanical constitutive model coupled with the SMA phase transformation model developed by Zhou and Yoon. The numerical results are compared with the relative experimental results finished by Xiong and Shen. Influences of the twist-angle of SMA wires and geometrical factors on the primary actuation performances of the SMA torsion actuator are also numerically investigated based on the thermo-mechanical constitutive model coupled with the SMA phase transformation model developed by Zhou and Yoon. Results show that the thermo-mechanical constitutive model can well predict the thermo-mechanical behaviors of the SMA torsion actuator. 相似文献
