The Sansevieria cylindrica (SC) fiber reinforced polyester matrix composites (SCFRPCs) were fabricated using compression molding machine. The influences of fiber length, fiber loading and chemical treatments of SCFRPCs over the mechanical and thermal stability were analyzed at different temperatures. The dynamic characteristics such as storage, loss modulus and damping were significantly influenced by the increase in fiber length and fiber loading but not in a geometric progression. Among various chemical treatments, the potassium permanganate treated SCFRPCs show the maximum increase in storage and loss modulus values. This result concluded that in addition to the reinforcing element (fiber length and wt% of fiber) the interfacial bonding between the fiber and the matrix plays a vital role in restricting the molecular mobility which was apparent from the storage modulus values. Efficient stress transfer at the interface is necessary to produce better dynamic properties rather than having more interfacial region. The change in morphology of cleaned and roughened SC fiber and the degree of interfacial adhesion between the fiber and matrix were studied using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The weight loss of SCFRPCs were also studied under varying temperatures with the help of thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA).  相似文献

Rapid developments in semiconductor technology have substantially increased the computational capability of computers. As a result of this and recent developments in theory, machine learning (ML) techniques have become attractive in many new applications. This trend has also inspired researchers working on integrated circuit (IC) design and optimization. ML-based design approaches have gained importance to challenge/aid conventional design methods since they can be employed at different design levels, from modeling to test, to learn any nonlinear input-output relationship of any analog and radio frequency (RF) device or circuit; thus, providing fast and accurate responses to the task that they have learned. Furthermore, employment of ML techniques in analog/RF electronic design automation (EDA) tools boosts the performance of such tools. In this paper, we summarize the recent research and present a comprehensive review on ML techniques for analog/RF circuit modeling, design, synthesis, layout, and test.  相似文献

This paper proposes a novel approach for recognizing faces in videos with high recognition rate. Initially, the feature vector based on Normalized Local Binary Patterns is obtained for the face region. A set of training and testing videos are used in this face recognition procedure. Each frame in the query video is matched with the signature of the faces in the database using Euclidean distance and a rank list is formed. Each ranked list is clustered and its reliability is analyzed for re-ranking. Multiple re-ranked lists of the query video is fused together to form a video signature. This video signature embeds diverse intra-personal variations such as poses, expressions and facilitates in matching two videos with large variations. For matching two videos, their composite ranked lists are compared using a Kendall Tau distance measure. The developed methods are deployed on the YouTube and ChokePoint videos, and they exhibit significant performance improvement owing to their novel approach when compared with the existing techniques.

Human spaceflight mission planning is a complex task with many interacting systems and mission phases. Analog missions are Earth-based science missions whose purpose is to help understand the complexities inherent in future human spaceflight missions. The goal of performing an analog mission is to prepare crewmembers and support teams for future space missions in a low risk-low cost environment by repeatedly testing vehicles, habitats, and surface terrain simulators. This study presents a group multi-attribute decision making (MADM) framework developed at the Johnson Space Center (JSC) for the Integrated human exploration mission simulation facility (INTEGRITY) project to assess the priority of human spaceflight mission simulators. The proposed framework integrates subjective judgments derived from the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with the entropy information and the technique for order preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS) into a series of preference models for the human exploration of Mars. Three different variations of TOPSIS including conventional, adjusted and modified TOPSIS methods are considered in the proposed framework.  相似文献

In this work, the impedance spectroscopy study has been carried out for the naturally woven coconut sheath fiber reinforced composite with the effect of adding different weight percentages of montmorillonite nanoclay and chemical activation of fiber. The dispersion mechanism of nanoclay with polyester, and the modification of the fiber surface have been studied by using X–ray diffractogram, transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope respectively. Infra‐red spectra have also been taken to study the reactive compounds of treated fibers. The impedance spectrum shows significant improvement in A.C. conductivity, dielectric constant and loss tangent values by the fiber modification, using alkali and silane treatments, due to the structural topography changes at the fiber surface. The highest dielectric strength was found in alkali‐treated coconut sheath/polyester composite due to increase in orientation polarization by the absorption of moisture content at fiber surface. The addition of different weight percentages of nanoclay with coconut sheath in all the treated conditions shows significant changes in the dielectric properties. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Bacteriocin-producing lactic acid bacteria were isolated from 298 samples of raw ewes', goats’ or cows’ milk. Eighty-two bacteriocin producers were phenotypically and genotypically identified as L. lactis subsp. lactis (59 isolates), L. lactis subsp. cremoris (2 isolates), L. lactis subsp. lactis biovar diacetylactis (6 isolates), E. faecalis (7 isolates), E. faecium (1 isolate), L. paracasei subsp. paracasei (4 isolates), L. plantarum (1 isolate) and Leuconostoc spp. (2 isolates). By means of PCR-techniques, nisin was characterized in 39 of the 67 bacteriocin-producing lactococci and lacticin 481 in 23 isolates, some of which presented antilisterial activity. Enterocin AS-48 was produced by four enterococcal isolates. Four non-identified bacteriocins produced by 16 isolates showed a broad inhibitory spectrum. Nisin-producing lactic acid bacteria were the most abundant, but lacticin 481-producing lactococci and AS-48-producing enterococci were found at relatively high rates.  相似文献
