Although the contract net protocol answers some of the questions in cooperative distributed problem solving (CDPS), it raises many others that CDPS researchers are still trying to answer. In contract net protocol, an agent may play the role of a manager or a bidder. Without a coordination mechanism, a manager may acquire excessive resources from the bidders in forming a collaborative network to execute the assigned task and thus hinder the progress of the tasks assigned to other managers due to resource contention. As a result, application of contract net protocol may not always lead to feasible solutions to accomplish tasks effectively. As a general framework for exchanging messages, the original contract net protocol does not prescribe how agents should cooperate. How to develop a collaborative mechanism to effectively perform the tasks is an important issue. This paper aims to improve the insufficiency of the contract net by developing a mechanism to facilitate cooperation of agents to accomplish their tasks while avoiding undesirable states and enhance the overall system performance in manufacturing systems. To achieve these objectives, detail process models about how agents accomplish their tasks are required. Due to the advantages in modeling concurrent, synchronous and/or asynchronous activities, Petri nets are adopted in this paper. Based on Petri net models, we study the information needed for agents to make cooperative decisions, mechanism to make agents cooperate, and how to enhance the performance in the system level by taking advantage of the agents’ cooperation capabilities. To characterize the condition for cooperation, we represent the collaborative networks formed based on the contract net protocol with Petri nets and then find the condition for a collaborative network to be feasible. The feasible condition also serves as a condition for the development of cooperation mechanism for managers. We propose a cooperation mechanism based on the idea of resource donation, including unilateral resource donation and reciprocal resource donation. Conventional time series models have been applied to handle many forecasting problems, such as financial, economic and weather forecasting. In stock markets, correct stock predictions will bring a huge profit for stock investors. However, conventional time series models produce forecasts based on some strict statistical assumptions about data distributions, and, therefore, they are not very proper to forecast financial datasets. This paper proposes a new forecasting model using adaptive learning techniques to predict TAIEX (Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock index) with multi-stock indexes (NASDAQ stock index and Dow Jones stock index). In verification, this paper employs seven year period of TAIEX stock index, from 1997 to 2003, as experimental datasets, and the root mean square error (RMSE) as evaluation criterion. The performance comparison results show that the proposed model outperforms the listing methods in forecasting Taiwan stock market. Besides, from statistical test results, it is showed that the volatility of Dow Jones and the NASDAQ affect TAIEX significantly. 相似文献

With the ability to deal with both numeric and nominal information, rough set theory (RST), which can express knowledge in a rule-based form, has been one of the most important techniques in data analysis. However, applications of rough set theory for analyzing electricity loads are not widely discussed. Thus, this investigation employs rough set theory to analyze electricity loads. Additionally, to reduce the time generating reducts by rough set theory, linear discriminant analysis (LDA) is used to generate a reduct for rough set model. Therefore, this study designs a hybrid discriminant analysis and rough set model (DARST) to provide decision rules representing relations in an electric load information system. In this investigation, nine condition factors and variations of electricity loads are employed to examine the feasibility of the hybrid model. Experimental results reveal that the proposed model can efficiently and accurately analyze the relation between condition variables and variations of electricity loads. Consequently, the proposed model is a promising alternative for developing an electric load information system and offers decision rules base for the utility management as well as operations staff. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to examine and provide a solution to the output reference tracking problem for uncertain systems subject to input saturation. As well-known, input saturation and modelling errors are very common problems at industry, where control schemes are implemented without accounting for such problems. In many cases, it is sometimes difficult to modify the existing implemented control schemes being necessary to provide them with external supervisory control approaches in order to tackle problems with constraints and modelling errors. In this way, a cascade structure is proposed, combining an inner loop containing any proper controller with an outer loop where a generalized predictive controller (GPC) provides adequate references for the inner loop considering input saturations and uncertainties. Therefore, the contribution of this paper consists in providing a state space representation for the inner loop and using linear matrix inequalities (LMI) to obtain a predictive state-vector feedback in such a way that the input reference for the inner loop is calculated to satisfy robust tracking specifications considering input saturations. Hence, the final proposed solution consists in solving a regulation problem to a fixed reference value subjected to a set of constraints described by several LMI and bilinear matrix inequalities (BMI). The main contribution of the paper is that the proposed solution is a non-linear setpoint tracking approach, that is, it is allowed that the system goes into saturation facing the problem of setpoint tracking instead of regulating to the origin. This paper deals with the design and application of a nonlinear multivariable controller in an anaerobic digestion system (AD) carried out in two interconnected fixed bed bioreactors. The proposed control scheme is derived from a mathematical model of the AD system described by a set of partial differential equations and consists of an estimator and two nonlinear control laws. The first law is developed to regulate the volatile fatty acids in the first bioreactor while the second aims at maintaining the chemical oxygen demand at predetermined set-points in the second bioreactor. The performance of the control algorithm is evaluated via numerical simulations in the face of load disturbances, parameter kinetic uncertainties and set-point changes. Stability and convergence properties of the proposed control scheme are also addressed in this paper. 相似文献

A design approach for Two-Degree-of-Freedom (2-DoF) PID controllers within a cascade control configuration that guarantees robust and smooth control is presented in this paper. The use of a cascade control configuration comes into place when the use of an additional (intermediate) sensor provides the possibility for a compensation of a load-disturbance before it affects the output variable. The rationale of operation associated to both the inner and outer controllers determines the need of good performance for disturbance attenuation (regulation) as well as set-point following (tracking). Therefore, the use of 2-DoF controllers is introduced. However, the use of 2-DoF controllers, introduces additional parameters that need to be tuned appropriately. Specially for the case of PI/PID controllers there are not known clear auto-tuning guidelines for such situation. The approach undertaken in this paper provides the complete set of tuning parameters for the inner (2-DoF PI) controller and the outer (2-DoF PID) controller. The trade-off among control system performance (measured in terms of closed-loop response speed) and robustness allows to derive a recommendation for the design-parameter lower limit. The design equations are formulated in such a way that a non-oscillatory response is specified for both the inner and outer loop. A side advantage of providing the complete set of parameters is that it avoids the need for the usual identification experiment for the tuning of the outer controller. 相似文献

Accurate predictions of storm surge and surge deviation are essential for industrial activities in coastal areas. Usually numerical hydrodynamic models or empirical methods are used to estimate the storm surge. This paper proposes an alternative back-propagation neural network (BPN) approach to forecast the storm surge and surge deviation. The prediction of storm surge from a previous typhoon is used as a training set to form predictions for the next event. Wind velocity, wind direction, atmospheric pressure and astronomical tide were selected as inputs in the neural network. The observations obtained during three typhoons from four stations in Taiwan were used to illustrate performance of the BPN model. Comparisons with numerical methods indicate that the storm surge and surge deviation can be efficiently predicted using BPN. 相似文献

Accurate cropland information is of paramount importance for crop monitoring. This study compares five existing cropland mapping methodologies over five contrasting Joint Experiment for Crop Assessment and Monitoring (JECAM) sites of medium to large average field size using the time series of 7-day 250 m Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) mean composites (red and near-infrared channels). Different strategies were devised to assess the accuracy of the classification methods: confusion matrices and derived accuracy indicators with and without equalizing class proportions, assessing the pairwise difference error rates and accounting for the spatial resolution bias. The robustness of the accuracy with respect to a reduction of the quantity of calibration data available was also assessed by a bootstrap approach in which the amount of training data was systematically reduced. Methods reached overall accuracies ranging from 85% to 95%, which demonstrates the ability of 250 m imagery to resolve fields down to 20 ha. Despite significantly different error rates, the site effect was found to persistently dominate the method effect. This was confirmed even after removing the share of the classification due to the spatial resolution of the satellite data (from 10% to 30%). This underlines the effect of other agrosystems characteristics such as cloudiness, crop diversity, and calendar on the ability to perform accurately. All methods have potential for large area cropland mapping as they provided accurate results with 20% of the calibration data, e.g. 2% of the study area in Ukraine. To better address the global cropland diversity, results advocate movement towards a set of cropland classification methods that could be applied regionally according to their respective performance in specific landscapes. 相似文献
