In this paper we examine the bit security of Paillier's scheme. We prove that if computing residuosity classes is hard, then
given a random w it is impossible to predict the least significant bit of its class significantly better than at random. This immediately
yields a way to obtain semantic security without relying on the decisional assumption (at the cost of several invocations
of Paillier's original function).
In order to improve efficiency we then turn to the problem of simultaneous security of many bits. We prove that Paillier's
scheme hides n-b (up to O(n) ) bits if one assumes that computing the class c of a random w remains hard even when we are told that c<2

. We thoroughly examine the security of this stronger version of the intractability of the class problem.
An important theoretical implication of our result is the construction of the first trapdoor function that hides super-logarithmically

The distribution of cadmium-(Cd)-binding components from five flaxseed cultivars grown at three locations in southern Manitoba was investigated to examine genotypic and environmental effects. Three protein fractions with different electrostatic properties, eluting at 0.10, 0.25 and 0.50 M NaCl by ion-exchange chromatography DEAE-Sephacel, represented 12%, 66% and 7% of the bound (extracted) protein, respectively, while 15% of the protein remained unbound. Cadmium and other divalent metal (zinc, copper and calcium) contents of protein fractions were strongly influenced by location. Cultivar differences in protein and cadmium contents of the protein fractions were highly significant. Cadmium and zinc accumulated similarly in the 0.10 and 0.25 M protein fractions at 51% and 40–43%, respectively. Transfer of copper occurred prominently in the 0.50 M fraction while most of the calcium (55%) remained unbound. The distribution of cadmium, zinc, copper and calcium in fractions of flaxseed proteins was strongly influenced by cultivar and location, indicating differences in their accumulation, migration and transfer. 相似文献

Periodontal disease is caused by dental plaque biofilms, and the removal of these biofilms from the root surface of teeth plays a central part in its treatment. The conventional treatment for periodontal disease fails to remove periodontal infection in a subset of cases, such as those with complicated root morphology. Adjunctive antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) has been proposed as an additional treatment for this infectious disease. Many periodontal pathogenic bacteria are susceptible to low-power lasers in the presence of dyes, such as methylene blue, toluidine blue O, malachite green, and indocyanine green. aPDT uses these light-activated photosensitizer that is incorporated selectively by bacteria and absorbs a low-power laser/light with an appropriate wavelength to induce singlet oxygen and free radicals, which are toxic to bacteria. While this technique has been evaluated by many clinical studies, some systematic reviews and meta-analyses have reported controversial results about the benefits of aPDT for periodontal treatment. The task of classifying is natural to humans, but there are situations in which a person is not best suited to perform this function, which creates the need for automatic methods of classification. Traditional methods, such as logistic regression, are commonly used in this type of situation, but they lack robustness and accuracy. These methods do not not work very well when the data or when there is noise in the data, situations that are common in expert and intelligent systems. Due to the importance and the increasing complexity of problems of this type, there is a need for methods that provide greater accuracy and interpretability of the results. Among these methods, is Boosting, which operates sequentially by applying a classification algorithm to reweighted versions of the training data set. It was recently shown that Boosting may also be viewed as a method for functional estimation. The purpose of the present study was to compare the logistic regressions estimated by the maximum likelihood model (LRMML) and the logistic regression model estimated using the Boosting algorithm, specifically the Binomial Boosting algorithm (LRMBB), and to select the model with the better fit and discrimination capacity in the situation of presence(absence) of a given property (in this case, binary classification). To illustrate this situation, the example used was to classify the presence (absence) of coronary heart disease (CHD) as a function of various biological variables collected from patients. It is shown in the simulations results based on the strength of the indications that the LRMBB model is more appropriate than the LRMML model for the adjustment of data sets with several covariables and noisy data. The following sections report lower values of the information criteria AIC and BIC for the LRMBB model and that the Hosmer–Lemeshow test exhibits no evidence of a bad fit for the LRMBB model. The LRMBB model also presented a higher AUC, sensitivity, specificity and accuracy and lower values of false positives rates and false negatives rates, making it a model with better discrimination power compared to the LRMML model. Based on these results, the logistic model adjusted via the Binomial Boosting algorithm (LRMBB model) is better suited to describe the problem of binary response, because it provides more accurate information regarding the problem considered. 相似文献

We have developed a mulch sheet made by inflation molding of PLA, Ecoflex® and modified starch, which all have different biodegradabilities. A field test of use as an agricultural mulch sheet for mandarin oranges was carried out over two years. The mechanical properties of the mulch sheet were weakened with time during the field test, but the quality of the mandarin oranges increased, a result of the controlled degradation of the sheet. The most degradable modified starch degraded first, allowing control of the moisture on the soil. Accelerator mass spectroscopy was used for evaluation of the biomass carbon ratio. The biomass carbon ratio decreased by degradation of the biobased materials, PLA and modified starch in the mulch sheet. 相似文献

This paper presents a research programme in progress where the main objective is to study the behaviour of Weldox 460 E steel plates impacted by blunt-nosed cylindrical projectiles in the lower ordnance velocity regime. A compressed gas gun is used to carry out high-precision tests, and a digital high-speed camera system is used to photograph the penetration process. A coupled constitutive model of viscoplasticity and ductile damage is formulated and implemented into the non-linear finite element code LS-DYNA, and the material constants for the target plate are determined. The proposed model is applied in simulations of the plate penetration problem and the results are compared with test data. Good agreement between the numerical simulations and the experimental results is found for velocities well above the ballistic limit, while the ballistic limit itself is overestimated by approximately 10% in the numerical simulations. 相似文献

Abstract A random sample of 450 houses representing various decades was surveyed by trained civil engineers for signs of water leaks or condensation. In 80% of the houses, signs of current or previous moisture fault were observed. In most houses, the surveyors made at least two separate observations of moisture but the occupants missed one in every two of these signs of moisture damage. Part of the faults were caused by flaws in design or construction, and part were due to aging of materials. Approximately 55% of the Finnish houses (i.e., a total of nearly 500 000 houses), were assessed to be in need of repair or more thorough inspection. The observations were equally frequent in the houses of different age, but certain types of moisture damage were characteristic of certain types of buildings or constructional methods used in different eras. Roof geometry was a significant factor accounting for roof leakages. The majority of the faults could be repaired at reasonable cost. 相似文献
