Synthesis,characterization, and redox and electrochromic behaviors of poly(3-n-octyloxythiophene)

Poly(3-n-octyloxythiophene), a conjugated polymer, which possessed solubility in common organic solvents, was synthesized by electrochemical polymerization in the presence of lithium perchlorate as the supporting electrolyte and sodium dodecyl sulfate as the surfactant in an aqueous medium. Characterizations of the intermediate, monomer, and polymer were performed by NMR spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, and gel permeation chromatography. The process of electrochemical polymerization and the electrochemical redox behaviors were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and the potentiostatic method. A poly(3-n-octyloxythiophene) film that was deposited on a platinum electrode was found to exhibit electrochromic behaviors, and it switched electrochemically between blue–green oxidized and dark red reduced states. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A Newly Developed Non, Destructive Tritium Measurement Technique and Its Application to V-4Cr-4Ti Alloy

A non-destructive and in-situ technique for the measurement of tritium in materials, namely β-ray-induced X-ray spectrometry （BIXS）, has been developed recently. In the present study a V-4Cr-4Ti alloy was pre-heated at 1000℃ for 2 h to form a recrystallization structure before the tritium absorption experiments were conducted. Firstly the hydrogen isotope gas was charazterized by means of a quadrupole mass spectrometer （QMS） and a small-sized ionization chamber. Then hydrogen isotope absorption tests of V-4Cr-4Ti alloy were performed at 400 ℃ and the atomic concentration of hydrogen isotope in V-4Cr-4Ti alloy was estimated as 0.17% with a tritium content of approximately 2.5 ppm. Experimental results indicate that BIXS is a quite useful tool for quantitatively measuring the tritium content and tritium distribution in the surface layers of vanadium alloys and no strong trapping effects of tritium exist in the pre-heated V-4Cr-4Ti alloy.     

V beta specificity of superantigen TSST-1 plus CD28 costimulation without APCs

Little has so far been known about the role of antigen-presenting cells (APCs) in the activation of T cells by superantigens. Recently several studies showed that superantigens could directly activate purified T cells in the presence of CD28 costimulation. Here we investigate V beta expression of T cells activated by the superantigen toxic shock syndrome toxin-1 (TSST-1), plus CD28 costimulation, in the absence of APCs. The aim of this study was to ask if TSST-1 activated purified T cells in the presence of CD28 costimulation with the same specificity as in the presence of APCs. We provide evidence that the specificity of TSST-1 to human V beta, in the presence of CD28 costimulation, is identical to that in the presence of APCs, with V beta 2 being significantly expanded. The results indicate that the main role of APCs in the superantigen-mediated T cell activation may be to provide T cells with CD28 costimulation.     

Monolithic Catalysts with Low Noble-Metal Content for Exhaust Purification of Small Gasoline Engines

A series of low noble-metal coment monolithic catalysts for exhaust purification of small gasoline engines was investigated, and it was found that the Pt/Rh-OSM/Al2O3 （where OSM was oxygen storage material） catalyst with Ce0.5Zr0.5-MnOx（3%MnOx） OSM held low light-off temperature for CO, HC, and NO; quite wide three-way window, and outstanding thermal stability. The catalyst could efficiently comrol exhaust emission of small gasoline engines.     

Hierarchical routing in multi-domain optical networks

Given the increasing adoption of DWDM networking technology, there is now a growing need to address distributed inter-domain lightpath provisioning issues. Although inter-domain provisioning has been well studied for packet/cell-switching networks, the wavelength dimension presents many additional challenges. To address this challenge, a detailed hierarchical routing GMPLS-based framework for provisioning all-optical and opto-electronic multi-domain DWDM networks is presented. The scheme adapts various topology abstraction schemes to improve routing scalability and lower inter-domain blocking probabilities. Related inter-domain lightpath RWA and signaling schemes are also tabled. Performance analysis results are also presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed mechanisms along with directions for future research work.     

基于全信息新陈代谢的GM（1，1）电力预测

传统的灰色预测模型所需的样本容量较少,仅4个数据就可以建立灰色预测模型。虽然传统的灰预测建模较为简单,但是忽略了对预测较为确利的新信息,容易产生预测模型老化的现象,预测精度不高。全信息新陈代谢的GM（1,1）灰色预测模型更为合理、科学,全信息建模避免了局部信息建模的局限性,每预测一个结果去除原始数列的最老数据的新陈代谢处理保证了预测数列的实效性,并用Matlab实现改进GM（1,1）模型的编程计算,应用于双流县电力需求量的预测,预测精度好。
