This paper proposes a novel method to quantify the error of a nominal normalized right graph symbol (NRGS) for an errors-in-variables (EIV) system corrupted with bounded noise. Following an identification framework for estimation of a perturbation model set, a worst-case v-gap error bound for the estimated nominal NRGS can be first determined from \textit{a priori} and \textit{a posteriori} information on the underlying EIV system. Then, an NRGS perturbation model set can be derived from a close relation between the v-gap metric of two models and ${\rm H}_\infty$-norm of their NRGSs' difference. The obtained NRGS perturbation model set paves the way for robust controller design using an ${\rm H}_\infty$ loop-shaping method because it is a standard form of the well-known NCF (normalized coprime factor) perturbation model set. This paper focuses on the design of two-dimensional (2D) quadrantally symmetric finite impulse response (FIR) filters, and presents three very efficient algorithms for the weighted least squares (WLS) design with a weight matrix that assigns four different weights to four different frequency bands. The first algorithm seeks for iterative solutions to the matrix equation describing the optimality condition of the design problem. The second algorithm aims at the limit solution of the solution sequence to the first algorithm, analytically obtained by using matrix diagonalization techniques. The third algorithm belongs to the category of iterative reweighting techniques. It uses the second algorithm as its iteration core, and aims at reducing the maximum magnitude error of the filter by iteratively adjusting the four entry values of the weight matrix. This paper presents a 3D path planning algorithm for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in complex environments. In this algorithm, the environments are divided into voxels by octree algorithm. In order to satisfy the safety requirement of the UAV, free space is represented by free voxels, which have enough space margin for the UAV to pass through. A bounding box array is created in the whole 3D space to evaluate the free voxel connectivity. The probabilistic roadmap method (PRM) is improved by random sampling in the bounding box array to ensure a more efficient distribution of roadmap nodes in 3D space. According to the connectivity evaluation, the roadmap is used to plan a feasible path by using A* algorithm. In this paper, the consensus problem is investigated via bounded controls for the multi‐agent systems with or without communication. Based on the nested saturation method, the saturated control laws are designed to solve the consensus problem. Under the designed saturated control laws, the transient performance of the closed‐loop system can be improved by tuning the saturation level. First of all, asymptotical consensus algorithms with bounded control inputs are proposed for the multi‐agent systems with or without communication delays. Under these consensus algorithms, the states’ consensus can be achieved asymptotically. Then, based on a kind of novel nonlinear saturation functions, bounded finite‐time consensus algorithms are further developed. It is shown that the states’ consensus can be achieved in finite time. In this paper, we propose a new online identification approach for evolving Takagi–Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models. Here, for a TS model, a certain number of models as neighboring models are defined and then the TS model switches to one of them at each stage of evolving. We define neighboring models for an in-progress (current) TS model as its fairly evolved versions, which are different with it just in two fuzzy rules. To generate neighboring models for the current model, we apply specially designed split and merge operations. By each split operation, a fuzzy rule is replaced with two rules; while by each merge operation, two fuzzy rules combine to one rule. Among neighboring models, the one with the minimum sum of squared errors – on certain time intervals – replaces the current model.To reduce the computational load of the proposed evolving TS model, straightforward relations between outputs of neighboring models and that of current model are established. Also, to reduce the number of rules, we define and use first-order TS fuzzy models whose generated local linear models can be localized in flexible fuzzy subspaces. To demonstrate the improved performance of the proposed identification approach, the efficiency of the evolving TS model is studied in prediction of monthly sunspot number and forecast of daily electrical power consumption. This paper describes the design and modelling of ultrasonic tomography for two-component high-acoustic impedance mixture such as liquid/gas and oil/gas flow which commonly found in chemical columns and industrial pipelines. The information obtained through this research has proven to be useful for further development of ultrasonic tomography. This includes acquiring and processing ultrasonic signals from the transducers to obtain the information of the spatial distributions of liquid and gas in an experimental column. Analysis on the transducers’ signals has been carried out to distinguish between the observation time and the Lamb waves.
