A simple method for evaluating the surface acidity of different cation-exchanged montmorillonite (mont) clay catalysts, Mn+-mont (Mn+=Al3+, Fe3+, Cr3+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, and H+), involving treatment with pyridine is described. After treating with pyridine, the samples were heated at 120 °C and the FT-IR spectra were directly recorded in the region 1650 and 1350 cm−1. The data obtained show the presence of both Lewis and Brønsted acid sites. The activities of the catalysts to bring about Brønsted acid catalysed esterification of succinic acid with iso-butanol to yield di-(iso-butyl) succinate have been studied. The Brønsted acidity data obtained for Mn+-mont correlated well with activity in the esterification reaction. The activities of the catalysts were found to decrease in the order of exchange ions Al3+ > Fe3+ > Cr3+ > Zn2+ > Ni2+ > Cu2+ > Na+-mont. They also correlated well with the charge to radius ratio of the cations. The catalysts exchanged with trivalent cations showed stronger absorption bands attributed to Brønsted acidity (1540 cm−1) whereas those exchanged with divalent cations showed an increased Lewis acidity (1450 cm−1) and reduced Brønsted acidity along with charge to radius ratio. Zn2+-, Cu2+- and Ni2+-exchanged clays showed an additional peak around 1605 cm−1 which is attributed to the pyridine adsorption on surface sites through its π electrons. The method suggested here to evaluate the acidity is suitable for active sites which are thermally unstable such as water molecules in the hydration shell of a cation in exchanged clay.  相似文献

In this paper, a fault tolerant control (FTC) strategy using virtual actuators and sensors for linear parameter varying (LPV) systems is proposed. The main idea of this FTC method, initially developed for LTI systems, is to reconfigure the control loop such that the nominal controller could still be used without need of retuning it. The plant with the faulty actuator/sensor is modified adding the virtual actuator/sensor block that masks the actuator/sensor fault. The suggested technique is an active FTC strategy that reconfigures the virtual actuator/sensor on-line taking into account faults and operating point changes. The stability of the reconfigured control loop is guaranteed if the faulty plant is stabilizable/detectable. The LPV virtual actuator/sensor is designed using polytopic LPV techniques and linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A two-tank system simulator is used to assess the performance of the proposed method. In particular, it is shown that the application of the proposed technique results in an improvement, in terms of performance, with respect to the LTI counterpart.  相似文献

In this paper, an improved global-best harmony search algorithm, named IGHS, is proposed. In the IGHS algorithm, initialization based on opposition-based learning for improving the solution quality of the initial harmony memory, a new improvisation scheme based on differential evolution for enhancing the local search ability, a modified random consideration based on artificial bee colony algorithm for reducing randomness of the global-best harmony search (GHS) algorithm, as well as two perturbation schemes for avoiding premature convergence, are integrated. In addition, two parameters of IGHS, harmony memory consideration rate and pitch adjusting rate, are dynamically updated based on a composite function composed of a linear time-varying function, a periodic function and a sign function in view of approximate periodicity of evolution in nature. Experimental results tested on twenty-eight benchmark functions indicate that IGHS is far better than basic harmony search (HS) algorithm and GHS. In further study, IGHS has also been compared with other eight well known metaheuristics. The results show that IGHS is better than or at least similar to those approaches on most of test functions.  相似文献

In social tagging system, a user annotates a tag to an item. The tagging information is utilized in recommendation process. In this paper, we propose a hybrid item recommendation method to mitigate limitations of existing approaches and propose a recommendation framework for social tagging systems. The proposed framework consists of tag and item recommendations. Tag recommendation helps users annotate tags and enriches the dataset of a social tagging system. Item recommendation utilizes tags to recommend relevant items to users. We investigate association rule, bigram, tag expansion, and implicit trust relationship for providing tag and item recommendations on the framework. The experimental results show that the proposed hybrid item recommendation method generates more appropriate items than existing research studies on a real-world social tagging dataset.  相似文献

Defining appropriate pricing strategy for smart environment is important and complex task at the same time. It holds the primal fraction in Demand Response (DR) program. In our work, we devise an incentive based smart dynamic pricing scheme for consumers facilitating a multi-layered scoring rule. The proposed strategy characterizes both incentive based DR and price based DR programs facilities. This mechanism is applied between consumer agents (CA) to electricity provider agent (EP) and EP to Generation Company (GENCO). Based on the Continuous Ranked Probability Score (CRPS), a hierarchical scoring system is formed among these entities, CA–EP–GENCO. As CA receives the dynamic day-ahead pricing signal from EP, it will schedule the household appliances to lower price period and report the prediction in a form of a probability distribution function to EP. EP, in similar way reports the aggregated demand prediction to GENCO. Finally, GENCO computes the base discount after running a cost-optimization problem. GENCO will reward EP with a fraction of discount based on their prediction accuracy. EP will do the same to CA based on how truthful they were reporting their intentions on device scheduling. The method is tested on real data provided by Ontario Power Company and we show that this scheme is capable to reduce energy consumption and consumers’ payment.  相似文献

The identification of high fidelity models is a critical element in the implementation of high performance model predictive control (MPC) applications in the industry. These controllers can vary in size with input–ouput dimensions ranging from 5 × 10 to 50 × 100. Identifying models of this scale accurately is a time consuming and demanding exercise. We present a novel approach wherein an information rich test signal is generated in closed loop by maximizing the MPC objective, as opposed to minimization that is done in the standard controller. We show that the proposed input design approach is similar to T-optimal (trace optimal) experiment design method. Our approach automatically accounts for the input and output constraints and is implemented in a moving horizon manner. It is demonstrated through simulation examples on both well and ill-conditioned processes.  相似文献

For many practical industrial spatially distributed processes (SDPs), their dynamics are usually described by highly dissipative nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs). In this paper, we address the L2 disturbance attenuation problem of nonlinear SDPs using the Hamilton–Jacobi–Isaacs (HJI) approach. Firstly, by collecting an ensemble of PDE states, Karhunen–Loève decomposition (KLD) is employed to compute empirical eigenfunctions (EEFs) of the SDP based on the method of snapshots. Subsequently, these EEFs together with singular perturbation (SP) technique are used to obtain a finite-dimensional slow subsystem of ordinary differential equation (ODE) that accurately describes the dominant dynamics of the PDE system. Secondly, based on the slow subsystem, the L2 disturbance attenuation problem is reformulated and a finite-dimensional H controller is synthesized in terms of the HJI equation. Moreover, the stability and L2-gain performance of the closed-loop PDE system are analyzed. Thirdly, since the HJI equation is a nonlinear PDE that has proven to be impossible to solve analytically, we combine the method of weighted residuals (MWR) and simultaneous policy update algorithm (SPUA) to obtain its approximate solution. Finally, the simulation studies are conducted on a nonlinear diffusion-reaction process and a temperature cooling fin of high-speed aerospace vehicle, and the achieved results demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed control method.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the closed-loop performance of a recently introduced economic model predictive control (MPC) scheme with self-tuning terminal cost. To this end, we propose to use a generalized terminal region constraint instead of a generalized terminal equality constraint within the repeatedly solved optimization problem, which allows us to obtain improved closed-loop asymptotic average performance bounds. In particular, these bounds can be obtained a priori. We discuss how the necessary parameters for the generalized terminal region setting can be calculated, and we illustrate our findings with two numerical examples.  相似文献

Energy consumption by heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems exhibits a clear correlation with electricity prices. The method of economic model predictive control (EMPC) can be used in conjunction with thermal energy storage (TES) to time-shift power consumption away from periods of high demand to periods of low energy cost. Dynamic electricity pricing and weather condition forecasts can be readily incorporated within this methodology. Unfortunately, the receding horizon nature of this control strategy makes it very susceptible to the quality of the forecasts used. To this end, the development and implementation of several forecasting methods will be discussed. Finally, the EMPC performance of these methods will be assessed on a simple building example using active TES.  相似文献
