In this paper, we study the impact of quantization, frame dropping and spatial down-sampling on the perceived quality of compressed video streams. Based on the analysis of quality ratings obtained from extensive subjective tests, we propose a no-reference metric (named MDVQM) for video quality estimation in the presence of both spatial and temporal quality impairments. The proposed metric is based on the per-pixel bitrate of the encoded stream and selected spatial and temporal activity measures extracted from the video content. All the values required to compute the proposed video quality metric can be obtained without using the original reference video which makes the metric for instance useful for making transcoding decisions in a wireless video transmission scenario. Different from comparable metrics in the literature, we have also considered the case when both frame rate and frame size are changed simultaneously. The validation results show that the proposed metric provides more accurate estimation of the video quality than the state of the art metrics.  相似文献

A printed planar antenna with simple and intelligent geometrical structure has been proposed for Ku/K band satellite communication systems. The radiating patch of the antenna is formed by cutting rectangular slots and extending the radiating element to some extent. The final design of the antenna with optimized parameters is fabricated on ceramic–polytetrafluoroethylene substrate materials of dielectric constant εr = 10.2. The antenna is excited through a microstrip feed line and has reduced ground plane that covers only the non‐radiating portion of the antenna. The reduced complexity of the antenna is easy to fabricate and has overall dimension of 40 × 35 × 1.905 mm3. The results from experimental analysis show that the proposed antenna can guarantee a wide bandwidth of 12.0 to 16.4 GHz at lower band, and the upper band covers the frequency in the range of 17.53 to 19.5 GHz. The antenna has achieved appreciable gain in the range of 3.14 to 4.68 dBi for lower band and 2.03 to 3.65 dBi for upper band. The proposed antenna has offered almost symmetrical and directional radiation pattern that is essentially suitable for serving Ku/K band satellite applications. Chinese calligraphy is a unique visual art, and is still emitting fascinating artistic brilliance and charm. The artistic beauty of Chinese calligraphy is constituted by two elements, i.e., form and spirit, which attract continual attentions by calligraphy artists. In this paper, we present Shear-Guided filter to extract the artistic information. Shear-Guided filter is designed by combining the shear transformation and the guided filter. It has both the edge-preserving smoothing property from the guided filter and the linear multidirectional property from the shear transformation. Shear-Guided filter can extract more spirit information from the calligraphy images, especially in the half-dry strokes. Furthermore, the previous evaluation parameters consider all pixels equally, which is against the truth. Here we put forward three new parameters to solve this issue. Finally, experiments show that Shear-Guided filter can extract the information of form and spirit more accurately, and the new evaluation parameters have better performances in evaluation.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a multi-scale variational decomposition model for image selective restoration. Firstly, we introduce a single-parameter (BV, G, L2) variational decomposition functional and theoretically analyze the relationship between the parameter and the scale of image features. And then, by replacing the fixed scale parameter with a varying sequence in the single-parameter decomposition functional, we obtain the multi-scale variational decomposition which can decompose the input image into a series of image slices of different scales. Furthermore, we show some properties and prove the convergence of the multi-scale decomposition. Finally, we introduce an alternating and iterative method based on Chambolle’s projection algorithm to numerically solve the multi-scale variational decomposition model. Experiments are conducted on both synthetic and real images to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed multi-scale variational decomposition. In addition, we use the multi-scale variational decomposition to achieve image selective restoration, and compare it with several state-of-the-art models in denoising application. The numerical results show that our model has better performance in terms of PSNR and SSIM indexes.  相似文献

This study presents the fabrication and characterization of novel surface-type capacitive humidity sensors using vanadyl phthalocyanine (VOPc) as the active material. The devices, which comprise three different thicknesses,have been fabricated using the thermal evaporation technique. A thin film of VOPc is deposited on thoroughly cleaned glass substrates with pre-pattemed Ag electrodes. The capacitive effect of the samples under humidity has been in-vestigated. Comparison of the samples with different thicknesses shows that the thinnest device seems more sensitive towards humidity. The humidity dependent capacitance properties of the sensor make it beneficial for use in commercial hygrometers.  相似文献

LiSn2P3 − y V y O12 powders with y = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 are prepared by mechanochemical milling method. The pellets of the compounds are heat treated at temperatures between 700 to 1,000 °C for sintering period of 8 h. X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that all samples consist of rhombohedral crystalline LiSn2P3O12 phase. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis confirmed that V5+ has been successfully substituted into LiSn2P3O12 crystalline phase. The conductivities of the pellets are determined using impedance spectroscopy. Impedance analysis shows enhancement in both bulk and grain boundary conductivities with increase in y. The enhancement in bulk conductivity is due to decrease in bulk activation energy reflecting an increase in ion mobility as a result of an increase in bottleneck size. Enhancement in grain boundary conductivity is attributed to increase in the number of conducting pathways due to an increase in crystallite homogeneity.  相似文献

We investigated the self-catalytic role of indium oxide in the growth process of ZnO/ZnInO heterostructure nanowires on Si(111). The prepared nanowires had hexagonal cross sections and were tapered with tip diameters of 90 ± 5 nm and base diameters of 230 ± 5 nm. Energy dispersive X-ray and field emission Auger spectroscopies indicated that the grown nanowires were heterostructures of ZnO and ZnInO. Analysis of the early growth process revealed that indium may play a self-catalytic role. Therefore, the vapor-liquid-solid mechanism is likely to be responsible for growth of ZnO/ZnInO nanowires. X-ray diffraction and room temperature photoluminescence (PL) data demonstrated that the presence of indium results in a decrease in nanowires' crystallinity. These wires produced a large PL emission peak in the ultraviolet (UV) region and a smaller peak in the green region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The UV peak of the ZnO/ZnInO nanowires is blue-shifted with respect to that of pure ZnO nanowires.  相似文献
