Europe is currently developing two reference breeder blankets concepts for DEMO reactor specifications that will be tested in ITER under the form of Test Blanket Modules (TBMs): the Helium-Cooled Lithium-Lead (HCLL) concept which uses the eutectic Pb-16Li as both breeder and neutron multiplier; the Helium-Cooled Pebble-Bed (HCPB) concept which features lithiated ceramic pebbles as breeder and beryllium pebbles as neutron multiplier. Each TBM is associated with several sub-systems required for their operation; together they form the Test Blanket System (TBS). This paper presents the state of HCLL and HCPB TBS instrumentation design. The discussion is based on the systems functional analysis, from which three main categories of instrumentation are defined: those relevant to safety functions; those relevant to interlock functions; those designed for the control and scientific exploitation of the devices based on the TBM program objectives.  相似文献

Experimental investigations for magnetohydrodynamic flows in rectangular ducts are performed using GaInSn as model fluid. Measurements of electric potential on channel walls and inside the flow show reproducible discrepancies compared to analytical results. These discrepancies can be ascribed to the formation of oxide layers causing a contact resistance between the electrically conducting duct walls and the liquid metal. An exact analytical solution for pressure drop, velocity and potential distributions has been derived taking into account the presence of a contact resistance. Analytical results for velocity and potential profiles and for pressure drop are discussed for different values of contact resistance and strength of the applied magnetic field. A comparison of measured potential with data from the analytical solution allows estimating the order of magnitude of the contact resistance in the present experiments.  相似文献

In order to determine the forces acting on the EU-Helium Cooled Pebble Bed Test Blanket Module (HCPB-TBM) during operation, a measurement system is developed. Therefore, two force reconstruction (FR) methods using measured strain signals are selected that are suitable for the application to the TBM. The first one, the augmented Kalman filter is a combined deterministic-stochastic approach. A second FR method based on the concept of a model predictive controller is proposed in this paper, which uses an optimization algorithm. In order to test the selected methods a testing device has been built which can be used to apply different force excitations on a reduced sized TBM mock up and measure the resulting strain signals of 16 strain gages. A simple tube mock up has been designed and manufactured to test and calibrate the FR algorithms. In addition, a second TBM mock up with attachment system is described. Finally, first results of the FR of a worst-case test case from simulated strain data of the simple tube mock up are presented.  相似文献

This paper reviews the discovery that controlled release of biologically active Ca and Si ions from bioactive glasses leads to the up-regulation and activation of seven families of genes in osteoprogenitor cells that give rise to rapid bone regeneration. This finding offers the possibility of creating a new generation of gene activating glasses designed specially for tissue engineering and in situ regeneration of tissues. Recent findings also indicate that controlled release of lower concentrations of ionic dissolution products from bioactive glasses can be used to induce angiogenesis and thereby offer potential for design of gene activating glasses for soft tissue regeneration.  相似文献

This paper presents a new high frequency Regulated Cascode (RGC) amplifier with improved performance. The split-length compensation technique is used to increase both the bandwidth and output impedance, and decrease the input impedance of the conventional RGC. The bandwidth of the proposed RGC amplifier is 5.81 GHz, which is about 2.7 GHz larger than that of simple one. The improved performance of the introduced circuit is achieved with no additional passive element and DC power dissipation. In the paper, output impedance and bandwidth of the proposed circuit are derived by using small signal analysis and have also been compared with the traditional one. In addition, a wideband high performance current mirror is designed in the work as an application of the proposed RGC structure. The bandwidth extension ratio (BWER) of the modified wideband current mirror is 1.37. The proposed circuits are designed by using TSMC 0.18 µm CMOS process and BSIM3 Level 49 device model. The circuits are simulated on Spectre simulator of Cadence to validate the analytical results obtained in the paper.  相似文献

Microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of nanostructured 1060 aluminum alloy tubes processed by tubular-channel angular pressing (TCAP) process were investigated using electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and nanoindentation analyzes. EBSD scans revealed a homogeneous ultrafine grained microstructure after the third passes of the TCAP process. Apart from that the mean grain sizes of the TCAP processed tubes were refined to 566 nm, 500 nm and 480 nm respectively after the first, second and third passes. The results showed that after the three TCAP passes, the grain boundaries with a high angle comprised 78% of all the boundaries. This is in comparison to the first pass processed sample that includes approximately 20% HAGBs. The TEM inspection afforded an appreciation of the role of very low-angle misorientation boundaries in the process of refining microstructure. Nanoindentation results showed that hardness was the smallest form of an unprocessed sample while the largest form of the processed sample after the three passes of TCAP indicated the highest resistant of the material. In addition, the module of elasticity of the TCAP processed samples was greater from that of the unprocessed sample.  相似文献

Zirconia is gaining interest as a ceramic biomaterial for implant applications due to its biocompatibility and desirable mechanical properties. At present, zirconia-based ceramic is often seen in the applications of hip replacement and dental implants. This paper briefly reviews different surface modification techniques that have been applied to zirconia such as polishing, sandblasting, etching, biofunctionalization, coating, laser treatment, and ultraviolet light treatment. The cellular response of osteoblast-like cell, osteoblast cell, fibroblast, and epithelial cell to the modified surface is discussed in terms of their adhesion, proliferation, and metabolic activity. The potential of surface modification to make zirconia a successful implant material in the future is highly dependent on the establishment of successful in vitro and in vivo studies. Hence, further effort should be made in order to deepen the understanding of tissue response to the implant and the tissue regeneration process. The review concludes with future prospect of research and further challenges in developing better zirconia bioceramics.  相似文献

As a result of the growing interest in the biological and mechanical performance of hydroxyapatite (HA)–graphene nano-sheets (GNs) composite systems, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) reinforced hydroxyapatite nano-tube (nHA) composites were synthesized in situ using a simple hydrothermal method in a mixed solvent system of ethylene glycol (EG), N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and water, without using any of the typical reducing agents. The consolidation process was performed by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) at 1150 °C and 160 MPa. The composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy, enabling confirmation of the synthesis and reduction of the nHA and rGO, respectively. The structure of the synthesized powder and cell attachment on the sintered sample was confirmed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The effects of the rGO on the mechanical properties and the in vitro biocompatibility of the nHA based ceramic composites were investigated. The elastic modulus and fracture toughness of the sintered samples increased with the increase of the rGO content when compared to the pure nHA by 86% and 40%, respectively. Cell culture and viability test results showed that the addition of the rGO promotes osteoblast adhesion and proliferation, thereby increasing the biocompatibility of the nHA–rGO composite.  相似文献

A new kind of receiver-reactor for high temperature solar furnaces is proposed. The main body of the receiver component is an ellipsoid of revolution with specularly reflecting inner walls. The reactor component, a crucible, is placed at one focal point and the aperture at the other. With this arrangement, substantially all of the incident radiation from the concentrator should reach the reactor directly or after one reflection from the cavity walls. An analysis of the radiative exchange among the surfaces is presented. The analysis provides a tool for a parametric study and optimization of the design. It is found that, in contrast to that of conventional well-insulated cavity receivers, its collection efficiency is not very sensitive to the size of its aperture.  相似文献
