An analysis of ethnic differences in UK graduate migration behaviour

In this paper, we analyse the employment–migration behaviour of 13,753 UK university graduates. In particular, we distinguish between five different types of sequential migration behaviour from domicile to higher education and on to employment. By controlling for a range of variables relating to human capital acquisition, local economic conditions and personal characteristics, we are able to identify the role of ethnicity in determining the interregional migration behaviour of university graduates.

Fatigue crack propagation in a ductile superalloy at room temperature and extensive cyclic plastic flow

Fatigue crack propagation experiments under both force and displacement control have been performed on the wrought superalloy Haynes 230 at room temperature, using a single edge notched specimen. The force controlled tests are nominally elastic, and the displacement controlled tests have nominally large plastic hysteresis at the beginning of the tests, but saturates towards linear elastic conditions as the crack grows. As some tests are in the large scale yielding regime, a non-linear fracture mechanics approach is used to correlate crack growth rates versus the fracture parameter $\mathrm{\Delta }$J. It is shown that crack closure must be accounted for, to correctly model the crack growth seen in all the tests in a unified manner. For the force controlled small scale yielding tests the Newman crack closure model was used. The Newman equation is however not valid for large nominal cyclic plasticity, instead the crack closure in the displacement controlled tests is extracted from the test data. A good agreement between all tests is shown, when closure is accounted for and effective values of $\mathrm{\Delta }$J are used.     

700MHzLTE网络部署探讨

通过分析3G网络建设运营中频谱对业务发展的重要作用,指出我国现有LTE频谱分配中缺乏1GHz以下优质频谱,不利于LTE业务发展。结合国际700MHz LTE应用和国内广电模数转换退频分析,提出推动我国700MHz LTE网络部署实施需要关注的问题,并给出相应解决建议。     

基于WiMAX的新型用电信息采集系统的构建

如何有效利用有限的频谱资源,是电力信息化建设中的关键问题。本文提出了利用230M频段来构建一种基于WiMAX宽带无线技术的新型用电信息采集系统;并分别从搭建WiMAX无线基站、升级用电信息采集主站,改造现有用电信息采集系统网络结构及搭建网络智能监控系统等方面探讨了如何构建新型的用电信息采集系统;最后,给出了实际应用效果。实践结果表明230M WiMAX系统是构建面向智能用电领域的低成本、高速、高可靠性的新型无线通信网络,是构建基于多网融合的用电信息采集系统的理想选择。     

Detoured Installations: The Policies and Architecture of the Norwegian National Tourist Routes Project

Since its inception in 1994, the Norwegian National Tourist Routes Project has become a flagship for Nordic architecture worldwide, showcasing installations by local practices along a network of historic tourist roads. The former Rector and Professor of Urbanism and Landscape at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO), Karl Otto Ellefsen , explains how the initiative has adeptly tapped into sustainability trends ‘with its emphasis on untouched nature and local authenticity’, while also strategically providing a tool for realising wider social, economic and political aims.

基于能耗管理的智能家庭网关设计与实现

针对目前传统智能家居技术偏重于实现家居智能化与自动化的现状,提出一种稳定可靠的智能家居策略,将家庭能耗管理与家居智能控制相结合。家庭内部组网的核心设备是智能家庭网关,对底层具有能耗采集模块的设备进行控制。该网关采用ARM9系列LPC3240处理器和RF433 MHz无线通信技术并自定义通信协议,软件设计采用一套多任务、单进程多线程的设计方案。采用黑盒测试的方法对网关进行测试,最终网关的稳定性达到要求且能耗数据采集功能顺利实现。     

基于AT90S8535单片机的电子万年历挂钟系统设计

设计中选用高性能低功耗的AVR架构单片机AT90S8535作为系统的控制核心,并采用高集成度的实时时钟芯片SD2303和DS1722温度传感器来处理时间和温度检测任务,能实现实时时间和温度的检测和显示。AT90S8535单片机带有SPI接口,能非常便利地实现和DS1722的通信。在设置闹铃时,程序会对所设置时间的合理性进行检测,任何不合理的时间设置将关闭闹铃功能。     

人体尸解组织中钍和钚的含量及其分布的比较

本文分析测定了日本北部新■县1986和1988年死亡的33例病人的部分尸解组织(包括骨、肺、肝、脾、肾和肌肉)中~(232)Th、~(230)Th、~(228)Th 和~(239+240)Pu 的含量,并估算了组织负荷量,对钍和钚在人体内的分布进行了比较
