This study addresses the determination of the burst pressures (BP) and burst failure locations of vehicle liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fuel tanks using both experimental and finite element analysis (FEA). The experimental burst test investigations were carried out by hydrostatic test in which the cylinders were internally pressurized with water. Two nonlinear FEA models, plane and shell, were developed and evaluated under non-uniform and axisymmetric boundary conditions. The required drawn shell properties including weld zone and shell thickness variations were investigated. The FEA BP and the burst failure locations are compared to the experimental ones. The permanent volume expansions of the LPG tanks due to internal pressure were also examined based on the code regulations. 相似文献

Despite a great success, one of the key issues facing in dental implantation clinic is a mismatch of mechanical properties between engineered and native biomaterials, which makes osseointegration and bone remodeling problematical. Functionally Graded Material (FGM) has been proposed as a potential upgrade to some conventional implant materials like titanium for selection in prosthetic dentistry. The idea of FGM dental implant is that the property would vary in a certain pattern to match the biomechanical characteristics required at different regions in the hosting bone. However, mating properties do not necessarily guarantee the best osseointegration and bone remodeling. No existing report has been available to develop an optimal design of FGM dental implant for promoting a long-term success. This paper aims to explore this critical issue by using the computational bone remodeling and design optimization. A buccal–lingual sectional model, which consists of a single unit implant and four other adjacent teeth, was constructed from computerized tomography (CT) scan images. Bone remodeling induced by use of various FGM dental implants is calculated over the period of 4 years. Photoelasticity is a method which yields information on the principal stress difference and orientation in a composite structure. Various problems associated with this technique, especially those concerning the fundamental relationship between the fringe order and the stress, have yet to be investigated. A few studies of this relationship in a universal stress state have been presented, particularly in the field of rubber-to-metal and rubber-to-fabric composites, but no evaluations have so far been made in the field of rubber-to-rubber joints. Applying the photoelastic method, we report our observations on the stress distribution in a natural rubber to natural rubber joint subjected to uniaxial tension. A comparison between the results of experimental photoelastic studies and the corresponding computer modelling has been illustrated. 针对永磁电机相关控制策略及性能计算均需要准确地得到电感和磁链等稳态参数,而它们又受交叉饱和效应影响严重,常规方法无法准确计算的问题,以有限元为工具,分析了计算永磁磁链和直轴、交轴电枢反应电感的不同方法。研究了交叉饱和效应对永磁电机的直轴、交轴电枢反应电感的影响,提出由于交叉饱和效应导致的直轴交轴存在互感,以及直轴上的永磁磁势产生交轴磁通的问题。采用冻结单元磁导率的方法,将非线性场线性化,计算得到了稳态参数随直轴、交轴电流变化的趋势。通过对比,使用计算得到的稳态参数仿真结果和实际测试结果,在空载与负载条件下的吻合很好,证明了使用冻结磁导率法计算参数是可靠的。 相似文献

This paper analyzes a novel hybrid axial-transverse flux permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor achieving high torque density. The stator pole pitch and the rotor pole pitch are the same. The motor is suitable for vehicle traction systems. The new axial-transverse machine has a single-sided or double-sided air gap. The machine has two adjacent quasi-U stator cores with ring-type winding, and the rotor has two PM groups, one outer and one inner. The shape of quasi-U stator core allows changing the flux path without changing power supply polarity. The analytical expressions of the no-load back-EMF and the torque are derived, after the development of 3-D magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) model.
