Servitization of manufacturing has become one of the main pathways for transition and upgrade in the manufacturing industry. New information and communication technologies (ICTs), such as the Internet of Things, Big Data, and Cloud Computing have enabled the servitization of manufacturing in terms of value creation, resource management, and supply chain management. This study presents a comprehensive review on the servitization in operations management in the era of new ICTs. A new value chain framework is proposed under the business model that revolves around servitization, which showcases the new activities and ways of implementation in the era of new ICTs. The virtualization, configuration, and evaluation of integrated manufacturing and service resources are analyzed. In particular, the methods used in new ICT-supported resource management platforms are surveyed. Problems in the supply chain management in manufacturing services (including the selection of partners, as well as the coordination, planning, and scheduling among members) are presented. This study concludes with a discussion on state-of-the-art servitization in operations management in the era of new ICTs. 相似文献

In some species, such as subalpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa [Hook] Nutt), the water content of the confined zones in heartwood is as high as or greater than that of sapwood. Such wet zones of heartwood are referred to as “wetpocket” or “wetwood.” Wood products from subalpine fir forests are adversely affected by the wetwood-associated problems, particularly during the drying process. The objectives of the study were as follows: (1) to investigate feasibility of a high X-ray energy industrial computed tomography (ICT) scanner for imaging wetwood; and (2) to determine changes of the 2-D and 3-D moisture profiles (from core to shell) at different drying times. Although medical CT scanning has been used for attaining signal intensity profiles of typical wood at different drying times, the technology has not, to date, been used for the study of wetwood phenomenon. This study presents, for the first time, results from the ICT imaging of the wetwood phenomenon. The results indicate that the ICT imaging system provides a powerful technique for imaging wetwood at different drying times. In addition, the results show that during the initial phase of drying, almost flat moisture profiles were observed in all wood types except for the wetwood, which showed a relatively higher moisture profile. A much slower (sluggish) drying development pattern at each increment from core to shell was found within the wetwood zone than normal wood regions along the width, thickness, and length of the board. 相似文献

To illustrate the conditions under which successful innovation adoption takes place, this paper focuses on the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) through emerging communities in schools. Two types of such communities are described in terms of the degree of participation in the implementation: school-wide communities and enclaves. The article describes implementation practices in four primary schools with reported high ICT use, selected as case-studies. Four criteria, reflecting the domain, personnel relationships, policy and implementation goals and strategies, as well as staff consistency, are employed to outline the existence and types of communities of implementation within these schools. Findings indicate that, although both school-wide communities and enclaves are present in successful schools, enclaves – compared to school-wide communities – are related to lower levels of implementation. Based on these findings the authors discuss policy directions towards the development of school-wide communities as a purposeful implementation strategy to help transition ICT institutionalization from the initiation to the habitualization stage. 相似文献

Abstract Designing and implementing effective e-learning is a complex process, which involves many factors. Lecturers need to constantly consider, evaluate and adjust these factors to provide effective e-learning environments for students. In this paper, we report on the design and development of the Online Learning Environment Survey (OLES), an instrument which can be used to gather and represent data on students' 'actual' (experienced) and 'preferred' (ideal) learning environments. We describe the use of this instrument in blended learning environments with university classes, illustrating how OLES can be used by educators striving for good practice in the design of effective online learning environments. 相似文献

The focus of this paper is on e-governance policy initiatives in Jordan as a case study of the architecture of ICT programs and of the global transformation of government. We find that global ICT programs introduce new and universal modes of organising centered on innovation and technology initiatives situated across various boundaries, territories and organisational domains and implemented through a novel mix of policy instruments, international institutions, business interests and techno/managerial concepts. Global ICT programs include the development and use of portals, interactive applications an also other ICT programs which aim at the electronic provision of government's services. We conclude that casting these issues as global ICT programs could cater for a much broader inter-disciplinary significance to guide the policy direction of future e-governance initiatives and to evaluate the extent to which the architecture of global ICT programs can contribute to the ambitious targets set by the Millennium Development Goals. 相似文献

As social scientists engaged in Information Technologies for Development (IT4D), a question we need to necessarily engage with is “are we building a better world with Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs)?” This question, first posed by Professor Geoff Walsham in the IS field, was the topic of my plenary discussion at the IFIP 9.4 meeting in Jamaica 2014, and had now been further developed to this “view from practice” paper for this journal. A first step in this paper has been the reformulation of the question which Professor Walsham raised: “What distortions and obstacles are created by the historical, material, and institutional conditions, and how these shape our efforts of ICTs creating a better world?” This reformulation is done to bring in more explicitly the political dimension into the question, and to nuance the technological deterministic argument implied in the question of technology (always) creating a better world. Taking an empirical example of an ICT intervention from the public health sector in India, deliberately chosen to emphasize distortions typically seen is similar Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) projects, the analysis focuses on understanding the conditions of distortions, why they occur, and what can be done differently to contribute to our notion of a better world. 相似文献
