以离心风机为研究对象,设计构建了用于内部流场激光测量的离心风机试验台,离心风机全部由透明度较高的材料制成。对PIV技术测量叶轮机械内部流动的应用进行了探索和实践,合理设置系统光路,优化筛选PIV示踪粒子和PIV双曝光时间间隔,最后采用PIV测量技术详细测量了某一运行工况下有叶扩压器的内部流场,给出了有叶扩压器不同轴向位置处流场的试验测量结果,并简要讨论了有叶扩压器的内部流动。  相似文献

In the flooded lead_acid batteries (FLAB), gas bubbles are initially formed on the surface of the electrodes, which are produced by electrochemical reactions, and then released into the electrolyte. In the present investigation, the effect of surface characterization of electrodes of FLAB on the gas bubble dynamic parameters in the electrolyte flow at different charging/discharging rates (C-rates) are studied utilizing particle image velocimetry (PIV) method. The results show that the capacity of FLAB have a linear behav-ior due to changes in each of the two parameters of the surface characterization of electrodes and the C-rate. At all State of charges (SOCs) of FLAB cells in different tests, increasing average roughness (Ra) and average wavelength of the roughness (ka) in the electrode surfaces, results in an increase in average bub-ble diameter and bubble rising velocity. Nevertheless, a sharp decrease in the void fraction of bubbles within the electrolyte was observed due to the increment in ka and Ra. Also, the effect of the rising move-ment of gas bubbles within the electrolyte on the average electrolyte velocity pattern in the gap between the electrodes by changing the surface characterization of electrodes are investigated in detail.  相似文献

The study is an experimental investigation of the discharge flow coefficient at a doorway‐type opening in the case of a fire in an enclosure open to atmosphere. Natural and mixed convection flows are considered with the use of mechanical ventilation. The discharge coefficient is defined as the ratio between the effective flow rate determined experimentally and a theoretical flow rate based on a Bernoulli approach. The effective mass flow rate is obtained from velocity field measured with stereoscopic particle image velocimetry technique. The theoretical flow rate is calculated from vertical temperature profiles measured from both sides of the doorway. Only inflow rate is considered for the calculation of the discharge coefficient. In natural convection mode, a CD value of 0.54 ± 0.5 is obtained on a reduced‐scale opening (to be compared with 0.68 at large scale). In a mixed convection case, the discharge coefficient is much lower and reaches 0.26 ± 0.06. This study shows that the discharge coefficient CD may vary significantly regarding the dimension of the opening and the flow conditions (natural and mixed convection). It illustrates the limits of considering a constant discharge coefficient when dealing with doorway flows in a confined and mechanically ventilated compartment. The assumption with the biggest impact on the design of geosynthetic-reinforced soils above voids is the presence and degree of soil arching, which affects the predicted applied stress on the geosynthetic. A series of centrifuge tests were conducted to investigate the soil arching in geosynthetic-reinforced soils with measurements of the soil stresses and observation of soil and geosynthetic deformation used to infer the arching behaviour. Detailed analysis of the results showed that arching significantly reduces the stress at the base of the soil when a void forms; this mechanism is due to stress redistributions and not the formation of a physical arch as suggested in some models. A new method to reliably predict this reduction is proposed by calculating the coefficient of lateral stress on vertical failure planes based on the observations of a continuous convex arc of major principal strains above the void, and the assumption that this is indicative of the stress behaviour.  相似文献

Paraffinic crude oils in pipelines may form waxy gels during flow shutdowns. These gels can be dislodged by applying pressure if the wall shear stress, proportional to the local pressure gradient, exceeds the gel yield stress. The simplest models assume that the axial pressure profile becomes linear immediately after a jump in upstream pressure, but this fails to account for gel time‐dependent rheology or the effect of gel voids on pressure wave propagation. To investigate the former factor, pressure profile and particle imaging velocimetry (PIV) measurements were performed on a model oil gelled under pressure to reduce void formation. After a jump in upstream pressure to a value insufficient to restart flow, the axial pressure profile becomes linear in a two‐step process, with an immediate small rise in downstream pressure followed by a time‐delayed jump. The present work is essentially devoted to the simulation of a laminar strained flame using two approaches: 2D realistic and 1D simplified. The studied case corresponds to a laminar burner that creates an upward-oriented round jet of stoichiometric methane–air mixture impacting on a horizontal metal disk. 2D numerical simulations have been performed using the Fluent® 6.3 software in the axisymmetric configuration. Detailed thermochemical and transport models are applied. Results of the 2D and 1D simulations are analyzed and compared with experimental data on flow velocity obtained by particle image velocimetry (PIV). Limitations of the classical 1D approach are identified and further commented on. Measurement errors due to the particle slip are evaluated by simulating the particle motion with inclusion of the gravity, Stokes drag, and thermophoretic forces.  相似文献

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) technology is an efficient and powerful testing method to investigate the characteristics of flow field. The topic of PIV post-processing techniques has roused researchers׳ wide concern for its great influence on the success of flow field measurement. The traditional correlation algorithms have their innate defects. In the present study, a modified optical flow algorithm is proposed to overcome these deficiencies based on bilateral-filter and multi-resolution analysis of PIV image processing. The algorithm is designed based on the principle of multilayer segments, in which the isotropic diffusion method is employed to calculate the low-resolution layer of the image and the nonlinear filtering method is used to process the high-resolution layer. This new algorithm can reduce image noise effectively and maintain the details of the image boundary. In addition, the design of nonlinear filter makes the optical flow equation simpler, and the optimal velocity mapping factor method needs less iteration and reduces the computational load. The algorithm is first tested on synthetic time-resolved channel flow images, and the computational results from the simulated particle images are found to be in reasonable agreement with the given simulated data. The algorithm is then applied to images of actual up-channel flow, and the results also confirmed that the algorithm proposed in the present study has good performance and reliability for post-processing PIV images.  相似文献

A femoral artery pseudoaneurysm is one complication of vascular intervention, and the incidence is increasing. Early management is then needed to avoid potential dangers from it. It differs from a true aneurysm in that it doesn't include any component of the vascular wall, and is not studied as much as a true aneurysm. Here, a model of a femoral pseudoaneurysm was made and a Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) simulation was verified with PIV experiment. Afterwards, a CFD simulation with two different models was performed to look for any findings which may help in developing new treatment methods.  相似文献
