As technology advances and thus Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) evolve, a new enterprise model must be devised to face future digital enterprise needs. This paper discusses issues and emerging trends that must be addressed if a true sensing and smart enterprise is to be achieved to meet sustainability requirements. Methods are required to capture enterprise reality and to provide a seamless interoperable digital enterprise model. The paper summarises several challenges to be addressed by future research in enterprise modelling. Challenges are discussed from the Enterprise, Information, Computational, Engineering and Technological points of view, according to the ODP-RM (Open Distributed Processing—Reference Model). To some extent, progress on some challenges has already been made and solutions are expected to materialise in the near future. Other challenges have only recently been identified and potential solutions cannot yet be predicted. The paper offers a discussion of these challenges for the future enterprise along with the required enterprise model; it also introduces the concept of the Sensing, Smart and Sustainable (S^3) Enterprise System. The position paper expresses opinions derived from the existing general research priorities and directions identified by the International Federation for Automatic Control–Technical Committee on Enterprise Integration and Networking (IFAC–TC 5.3). 相似文献

The development of the Industry 4.0 paradigm and the advancement of information technology have aroused new consumer requirements for smart products that are capable of context awareness and autonomous control. Nature holds huge potential for inspiring innovative design concepts that can meet the ever-growing need for smart products since biology perceive and interact with their living environment for survival. However, to date, very few studies have explored the application of natural wisdom in building innovative design concepts for smart products. This paper proposes a function-oriented design approach for smart products, by analogizing to biological prototypes. To do so, a unified functional representation, based on the Function–behavior–structure (FBS) ontology, is proposed to abstract biological prototypes, followed by a fuzzy triangular numbers-based algorithm designed to locate appropriate biological prototypes as analogical sources for smart product development. Moreover, functional innovative strategies and a hybrid design process are formulated to develop design concepts of smart products, by integrating several existing engineering design methods. Finally, an illustrative design case of a smart natural resource collecting system is used to demonstrate the workability of the proposed method. 相似文献

This work assesses the impact of blockchain and smart contracts on the visibility of construction supply chain and in the context of payments (intersection of cash and product flows). It uses comparative empirical experiments (Charrette Test Method) to draw comparisons between the visibility of state-of-practice and blockchain-enabled payment systems in a commercial construction project. Comparisons were drawn across four levels of granularity. The findings are threefold: 1) blockchain improved information completeness and information accuracy compared with the digital state-of-practice solution; 2) the improvements were significantly more pronounced for information queries that had higher product, trade, and temporal granularity; and 3) blockchain-enabled solution was robust when faced with more granular information queries, while the conventional solution experienced 50% and 66.7% decline respectively in completeness and accuracy of information. The paper concludes with a discussion of mechanisms contributing to visibility and the implications for the construction industry. 相似文献

Within the scheduling framework, the potential of digital twin (DT) technology, based on virtualisation and intelligent algorithms to simulate and optimise manufacturing, enables an interaction with processes and modifies their course of action in time synchrony in the event of disruptive events. This is a valuable capability for automating scheduling and confers it autonomy. Automatic and autonomous scheduling management can be encouraged by promoting the elimination of disruptions due to the appearance of defects, regardless of their origin. Hence the zero-defect manufacturing (ZDM) management model oriented towards zero-disturbance and zero-disruption objectives has barely been studied. Both strategies combine the optimisation of production processes by implementing DTs and promoting ZDM objectives to facilitate the modelling of automatic and autonomous scheduling systems. In this context, this particular vision of the scheduling process is called smart manufacturing scheduling (SMS). The aim of this paper is to review the existing scientific literature on the scheduling problem that considers the DT technology approach and the ZDM model to achieve self-management and reduce or eliminate the need for human intervention. Specifically, 68 research articles were identified and analysed. The main results of this paper are to: (i) find methodological trends to approach SMS models, where three trends were identified; i.e. using DT technology and the ZDM model, utilising other enabling digital technologies and incorporating inherent SMS capabilities into scheduling; (ii) present the main SMS alignment axes of each methodological trend; (iii) provide a map to classify the literature that comes the closest to the SMS concept; (iv) discuss the main findings and research gaps identified by this study. Binarized neural networks, or BNNs, show great promise in edge-side applications with resource limited hardware, but raise the concerns of reduced accuracy. Motivated by the complex neural networks, in this paper we introduce complex representation into the BNNs and propose Binary complex neural network – a novel network design that processes binary complex inputs and weights through complex convolution, but still can harvest the extraordinary computation efficiency of BNNs. To ensure fast convergence rate, we propose novel BCNN based batch normalization and weight initialization strategies. Experimental results on image and radio signal classifications show that BCNN can achieve better accuracy compared to the original BNN models. BCNN improves BNN by strengthening its learning capability through complex representation and extending its applicability to complex-valued input data. Smart TV has been highlighted as a new platform of broadcasting, powered for the last five years by its own application store as well as by internet-based contents. However, recently, smart TV's performance in the pay-TV market has been below expectations. In the socio-technical view, this paper investigates three aspects surrounding smart TV: bundling as a market competition strategy; services using technological features represented by N-screen; and consumer attributes, including personal innovativeness and demographics. The results show that the bundles with IPTV have a lock-in effect, while other pay-TV services do not, indicating that bundling by communications service providers is a more effective strategy to keep market share away from new entrants. Policy makers only consider competition among incumbents, neglecting the entrance of new service providers, like over-the-top service providers. Therefore, bundling should be evaluated in terms of an entry barrier. Smart TV doesn't work as a platform because the adoption of smart TV has no influence on the watching of N-screen broadcasting services on TV. There are implications that the new technology alone cannot encourage lean-forward activity on TV. Managers should focus on what consumers expect from ‘smartness’, and develop contents for the smart TV as a home appliance. 相似文献

Linear robots, numerically controlled machines and articulated robots are some of the major components in automation. In various applications, these single systems are linked together to become advanced mechatronic systems since they can realize special and general tasks. Unfortunately, the degree of automation in carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) manufacturing is currently rather low. A lot of research still needs to be done in order to achieve the knowledge necessary to gain a consistent, robust and reliable production chain for CFRP. The most decisive criterion in automation is the tradeoff between speed in production and the attainable layup accuracy. One aspect that affects accuracy is vibration caused by rapid movement and interaction forces. In the case of advanced mechatronic systems, the effect of the dynamic coupling is one key factor in accuracy. Over the last few decades, the field of active vibration suppression has made use of its excellent capability to improve the accuracy of machines. Therefore, the paper presents a comprehensive review of active vibration suppression technology for the improvement of precision in manufacturing. The work is mainly focused on, but not limited to, the production of components made of CFRP. The paper concludes with a discussion of promising approaches to identify a trend for future work. 相似文献
