In this paper, we introduce the LOPOCOS (Low Power Co-synthesis) system, a prototype CAD tool for system level co-design. LOPOCOS targets the design of energy-efficient embedded systems implemented as heterogeneous distributed architectures. In particular, it is designed to solve the specific problems involved in architectures that include dynamic voltage scalable (DVS) processors. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how LOPOCOS can support the system designer in identifying energy-efficient hardware/software implementations for the desired embedded systems. Hence, highlighting the necessary optimization steps during design space exploration for DVS enable architectures. The optimization steps carried out in LOPOCOS involve component allocation and task/communication mapping as well as scheduling and dynamic voltage scaling. LOPOCOS has the following key features, which contribute to this energy efficiency. During the voltage scaling valuable power profile information of task execution is taken into account, hence, the accuracy of the energy estimation is improved. A combined optimization for scheduling and communication mapping based on genetic algorithm, optimizes simultaneously execution order and communication mapping towards the utilization of the DVS processors and timing behaviour. Furthermore, a separation of task and communication mapping allows a more effective implementation of both task and communication mapping optimizationsteps. Extensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate the efficiency of LOPOCOS. We report up to 38% higher energy reductions compared to previous co-synthesis techniques for DVS systems. The investigations include a real-life example of an optical flow detection algorithm.  相似文献

在天然地震的影响下,油井产量发生波动,使人们受到启示,从而引进了振动采油工艺技术。本文对振动增产的机理进行了探讨,指出振动增油机理在于加快地层中流体的流速;改变储集层内油、气、水的重新分布;改变岩石表面润湿性,有利于清除油层堵塞,提高渗透率。通过分析两个试验区的振动采油效果,总结出在不同扰动力、不同激振频率、不同振动周期下的增产效果和规律,对振动采油的实施具有一定的指导意义。  相似文献

Determining contributions of source-monitoring and inhibitory function to age-related forgetting has been an elusive goal for cognitive theorists. Five studies used a verbal working memory paradigm to examine mechanisms accounting for disproportionate retroactive interference (RI) experienced with adult aging. Participants distinguished studied target-word pairs from interfering pairs that were read aloud. Source-monitoring and inhibitory task components varied through manipulations of response requirements. RI effects were primarily due to source-monitoring failures rather than to inhibitory failures. Removing both source and inhibitory components eliminated age differences in RI. When source monitoring was emphasized, RI continued to be observed in all age groups but disproportionately for older adults. Understanding how the structure of the unit-cell affects the cryogenic performance of a Si power Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) is an important step toward optimizing of the device for cryogenic operations. In this paper, numerical simulations of the Si power Double Diffused MOSFET’ (DMOS) are performed at room temperature and cryogenic temperatures. Physically based models for temperature dependent silicon properties are employed in the simulations. The performances of power DMOS’ with various unit-cell structures are compared at both room temperature and low temperatures. The effect of the cell structure on the on-resistance and breakdown voltage of the device are analyzed. The simulation results suggest that the device optimized for room temperature operation can be further optimized at cryogenic temperatures.  相似文献

Acoustic Emission (AE) signals, which are electrical version of acoustic emissions, are usually analysed using a set of signal parameters. The major objective of signal analysis is to study the characteristics of the sources of emissions. Peak amplitude(P a ) and rise time(R t ) are two such parameters used for source characterization. In this paper, we theoretically investigate the efficiency ofP a andR t to classify and characterize AE sources by modelling the input stress pulse and transducer. Analytical expressions obtained forP a andR t clearly indicate their use and efficiency for source characterization.
