Harvesting implicit group attitudes and beliefs from a demonstration web site.

Respondents at an Internet site completed over 600,000 tasks between October 1998 and April 2000 measuring attitudes toward and stereotypes of social groups. Their responses demonstrated, on average, implicit preference for White over Black and young over old and stereotypic: associations linking male terms with science and career and female terms with liberal arts and family. The main purpose was to provide a demonstration site at which respondents could experience their implicit attitudes and stereotypes toward social groups. Nevertheless, the data collected are rich in information regarding the operation of attitudes and stereotypes, most notably the strength of implicit attitudes, the association and dissociation between implicit and explicit attitudes, and the effects of group membership on attitudes and stereotypes. Invertebrate communities in Compensation Creek,a man‐made stream in boreal Newfoundland: The influence of large woody debris

Benthic invertebrate communities were examined in Compensation Creek, a man‐made stream in south‐central Newfoundland, Canada. Samples taken in September 2006 and September 2007 from large woody debris (LWD) were compared with samples from benthic environments to determine whether LWD supported a more diverse and abundant invertebrate community. Benthic habitats in a nearby natural stream were also sampled. Taxa composition was similar between the man‐made and the natural stream, highlighting successful colonization for the majority of taxa. Within Compensation Creek, taxa richness was higher in benthic habitats than on LWD, likely influenced by the successional age of the stream and surrounding habitat. The more complex benthic substrate provided refugia and allowed for the accumulation of fine detritus as a food source. Scrapers were almost completely absent from LWD and collector‐gatherer abundance was greater in the benthos. Collector‐filterer abundance was more than six times greater near the pond outflow than farther downstream when discharge was high, but abundances were almost equal when discharge was reduced. Riparian vegetation has not fully established around the man‐made stream, whereas it is overhanging and extensive at the natural stream, leading to more leaf‐litter input for shredders. As the morphology of Compensation Creek changes, the invertebrate community will continue to develop and likely increase utilization of accumulated detritus at LWD. Estimating the total error for a distributed group standard for time and frequency

Studies have been made on the systematic and random errors in the group frequency and time scale for a distributed group standard for the units of time and frequency. Short-term group play therapy with Chinese earthquake victims: Effects on anxiety, depression and adjustment.

Investigated the effectiveness of short-term child-centered group play therapy in elementary school settings with Chinese children in Taiwan who experienced an earthquake in 1999. 65 children (aged 8-12 yrs) were screened. Children in the experimental group scored significantly lower on anxiety level and suicide risk after play therapy than did children in the control group. The effects of the treatment support previous studies of play therapy with American children. These findings reveal the possibility of disaster intervention services adopting Western helping techniques with school children of non-Western cultures. 下山揭穿近水平近距离煤层群防突技术实践

为了确保下山掘进揭穿近水平煤层群时的安全,根据下山揭近距离近水平煤层群的赋存特点,结合杨柳矿的主井井底检修斜巷揭煤实例,提出了一套较为安全经济的下山揭近水平煤层群的防突技术方法,并顺利揭穿杨柳矿主井井底检修斜巷煤层群,实践证明下山揭近水平煤层群的防突技术方法效果较好.     

一种群正交频码分多址系统

提出了一种群正交的频分与码分相结合的多址方案——群正交频码分多址，通过在发送端对用户进行分组，每组内采用码分多址，在接收端利用较低复杂度的分组最大似然检测，可以有效提高频谱利用率。从理论上分析了该系统所能达到的比特误码率性能，并进行了数值仿真，结果显示新系统在保持较低复杂度的同时，取得了更优异的比特误码率性能和更高的频谱利用率。     

Synthesis, Characterization and Antitumor Activity of Lanthanum(Ⅲ) Complex with Demethylcantharidate

A novel complex of lanthanum(Ⅲ) with demethylcantharidate group (DCA), Na[La(DCA)2(H2O)], was synthesized in aqueous solution and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR, UV, 1H-NMR spectra and TG-DTA. The results suggest that lanthanum ion is seven-coordinated. Six oxygen atoms are from carboxyl groups and cyclic ethers of two DCA ligand, and on oxygen is from a H2O. The antitumor activities of the complex against HL-60 human leukemia, BGC-823 human gastric carcinoma, Bel-7402 human hepatic carcinoma, Hela human cervical carcinoma were investigated with MTT or SRB assays. Na[La(DCA)2(H2O)] exhibits stronger inhibition against certain kinds of cancer cells than Na2DCA in vitro.
