A method is proposed for forecasting global solar radiation. The method is based on weather information using binary trees and factor analysis. The feature of this method is that it is possible to use a simple linear forecasting equation. The method has been tested on meteorological and global solar radiation data obtained at several observation sites, and the results show that it is a promising means of maintaining the balance between demand and supply of electric power in power systems of the near future with a large number of photovoltaic systems installed. 相似文献

Researchers have derived inspiration from the biophotosynthetic structures in nature and have started to synthesize the modified bioinspired solar cells copying the evolved organic and inorganic material properties. One of the highlighted examples of bioinspired photo voltaic (PV) cells is the astonishing achievement of an increase in the absorption of integrated sunlight waves in unpatterned solar cells simulated from the wings of the butterfly. Further, deployment possibilities of incorporating flexible cells on flat or curved surfaces for optimizing performance are also under progress. This article mainly discusses the recent concepts of bioinspired solar cells at the research and development level with the prospects and challenges that lie ahead in the upcoming field of photovoltaic renewable energy cell technology. In this study, the simultaneous use of nanofluid and phase changing material as a coolant for photovoltaic fluid collector system and its effects are investigated experimentally. Two types of nanofluid are taken for the consideration, that is, ZnO and CuO, which are water‐based fluid. The experiments are performed in five different types of photovoltaic thermal system conventional: PT, PVT (ZnO), PVT (CuO), PCM medium (PVT/PCM/ZnO), and PCM medium (PVT/PCM/CuO). The results are obtained for surface temperature, energy, and thermal efficiency, and it is compared with each other. Further, the effect of the nanofluid as the effective alternative for pure deionized water is measured. From the results, it is evident that the PVT/PCM/CuO system minted 15% high electric output compared with convention module. Furthermore, the addition of the CuO nanofluid increases the thermal output significantly up to 8% for PVT and 12% for PCM without energy consumption. This paper quantifies experimentally the fire‐induced reradiation to roof surface created by flame extension on the back of the flat roof–integrated photovoltaic (PV) array. A gas burner underneath the tilted PV panels was employed as the fire source. The effects of the PV tilt angle, distance from PV panel to roof, and fire heat release rate (HRR) were investigated. The flame extension geometries and flame reradiation heat flux distribution were recorded. The results show that the flame extension length and vertical thickness (ie, the vertical distance from the back surface of the PV panel to the extension flame profile) are reduced with the increase of PV tilt angle and panel‐roof distance but are increased with increases in the fire HRR. A unified nondimensional HRR coupled with all these factors is proposed to quantify the flame extension geometry. Furthermore, a general equation based on the physical relationship between flame radiation and flame geometry is developed to characterize the distribution of reradiation heat flux on the roof surface with the nondimensional local flame thickness. Finally, suggestions regarding PV installations on flat roofs and the selection of roofing materials are given to decrease the possibility of flame propagation underneath the PV arrays. 相似文献

Five types of photovoltaic (PV) modules were comparatively analyzed considering the electrical output, efficiency and relative loss in efficiency, based on infield data collected in a temperate mountain climate, over 14 months. The mono-, poly-crystalline silicon, CdTe, CIS and CIGS modules were mounted on two identical platforms, installed close to a row of buildings. Based on the data collected from individual or groups of modules on the two platforms, analyses focused on the photovoltaic output, considering: the mean monthly values; the influence of the neighboring buildings; the influence of the irradiance, temperature and wind in different seasons (winter, summer); the influence of tracking on each PV module type. The qualitative analysis shows that small PV platforms installed in the built environment require accurate investigations on the air currents with influence on snow and frost retention/melting and water vapor condensation. In the temperate climate, with snowy winters and rather warm summers, the best performing modules are of poly-crystalline silicon; among thin film modules, the best output corresponds to CIGS, while the steadiest efficiency corresponds to CdTe. Tracking has a “leveling” effect on the conversion efficiency, making the PV output more predictable during days with preponderant direct solar irradiance. 相似文献

This work describes a new control strategy for active energy flow in a hybrid photovoltaic (PV) system. The method introduces an online energy management by a hierarchical fuzzy controller between energy sources that consist of a photovoltaic panel (PVP), the battery and the load. The fuzzy logic controller has been developed for power splitting between PVP and battery, and it makes decision to choose the switching chain rules and corresponding controller. Simulation test results illustrate improvement in the operation's efficiency of online state of the switches and the battery's state of charge (SOC) has been maintained at a reasonable level.
