Corrosion fatigue short crack growth behaviour in a high strength steel

The influence of an aggressive environment (0.6 M, aerated NaCl solution) on short fatigue crack initiation and growth behaviour has been studied. The study involved three major test series, namely: air fatigue, corrosion fatigue, and intermittent air fatigue/corrosion fatigue. The above tests carried out under fully reversed torsional loading conditions at a frequency of 5 Hz, showed that it was the non-metallic inclusions which took part in crack initiation resulting from debonding at metal matrix/inclusion interface and pitting of inclusions in both air and corrosove environments, respectively. Short fatigue crack growth results in these two environments obtained by using plastic replication technique, indicated a large effect of microstructure i.e. prior austenite grain boundaries. The stage/stages at which the environmental contribution was dominant has been discussed by considering the results achieved from intermittent tests. However, the mechanisms involved in corrosion fatigue short crack growth have also been described in the light of results obtained from futher investigations carried out by conducting corrosion fatigue tests under applied cathodic potential conditions and tests on hydrogen pre-charged specimens under air fatigue and uniaxial tension conditions.

通过对钢铁企业现行价格管理体系的分析 ,建立了钢铁企业价格预测决策模型体系。充分利用大量的定性、定量信息 ,并把趋势预测和因果预测技术相结合 ,采用组合预测模型对价格进行预测 ,最后对预测出来的多方案进行模糊综合评价 ,给出推荐方案顺序。实际应用表明 ,模型体系是有效的。     

A Search for Hidden Relationships: Data Mining with Genetic Algorithms

This paper presents an algorithm that permits the search for dependencies among sets of data (univariate or multivariate time-series, or cross-sectional observations). The procedure is modeled after genetic theories and Darwinian concepts, such as natural selection and survival of the fittest. It permits the discovery of equations of the data-generating process in symbolic form. The genetic algorithm that is described here uses parts of equations as building blocks to breed ever better formulas. Apart from furnishing a deeper understanding of the dynamics of a process, the method also permits global predictions and forecasts. The algorithm is successfully tested with artificial and with economic time-series and also with cross-sectional data on the performance and salaries of NBA players during the 94–95 season.     

Ratings of Therapist Dynamic Activities and Alliance Early and Late in Psychotherapy.

The present study examines the concurrent and predictive relationships between therapist psychodynamic-interpersonal activity and therapist-rated alliance. Ratings from 45 patient and therapist dyads engaged in short term psychodynamic psychotherapy from a point early (3rd or 4th session) and late (the session at which 90% of the treatment was completed) in treatment were used. The results suggest that therapists who have positive views of the alliance early in treatment also have positive views of the alliance later in treatment. Therapists who used psychodynamic-interpersonal activities early in treatment also made use of psychodynamic-interpersonal activities later in treatment. Moreover, the use of psychodynamic-interpersonal activities early in treatment was positively related to both global and specific aspects of therapist-rated alliance late in treatment.
