This study examined organizational family-responsive policies, perceptions of the organization as family supportive, and supervisor support as issues that may be salient to the experience of conflict between paid employment (work) and family roles. Data were collected from 355 managerial personnel in New Zealand. Although work-family conflict and psychological strain were strongly linked, the availability of organizational policies had no significant association with levels of conflict or strain, whereas policy usage was related only to work-to-family interference and not to family-to-work interference. On the other hand, perceptions of the organization as family supportive and supervisor support for work-family balance displayed significant relationships with key variables, highlighting the importance of these variables for interventions designed to ameliorate the negative impact of work-family conflict on managerial well-being. The introduction of automatic display layout (ADL), i.e. the automatic placing and sizing of windows in a window-oriented graphical user interface, is a major contribution towards an improved user interface. Our approach to ADL is to treat this problem as a combinatorial optimization problem. In this article we describe the concepts we used for implementing an experimental system which controls the computer screen contents and its layout. We give two examples of different standard applications into which we included ADL successfully, namely hypertext for a window layout problem and graph-browser for a hierarchical graph layout problem within a particular window. The results show that automatic (and tool independent) display layout will be possible in the near future even in an interactive environment.  相似文献

针对现有的强力输送带故障实时检测方法存在故障定位困难的问题,以接头为基准参考点,提出了一种基于图像处理技术的强力输送带接头识别算法。该算法根据接头点的特征,把接头点用一个数值表示出来,并根据这个数值,以一种简单的方式区分出上、下接头点;然后根据接头的特征,并通过修改最长公共子序列算法的匹配方式,对接头进行识别。实际应用表明,该算法精度高、速度快,可有效识别强力输送带的接头,满足了强力输送带故障检测中接头定位的要求。  相似文献

在构建电力企业营销管理人员能力素质模型的基础上,以营销人员的能力素质为研究对象,运用解释结构模型对营销人员的能力素质进行分析,建立电力企业营销管理人员能力素质的阶层结构图,对复杂的能力素质要素进行分层分类。通过该图不仅可以直观地看到各要素间的层次及相互影响关系,还可以将各要素按其属性进行归纳、分类、解释,帮助企业管理者对营销人员的能力要素进行有效识别与管理。  相似文献

Existing transformational leadership research has focused primarily on the behaviors of leaders and their effects on followers. The authors extended this research by examining the social networks of managers who exhibit transformational leadership behaviors. Their focus was on the network of relationships that managers develop and whether they hold key positions in the organization's informal social networks. In a field study using data from 39 managers and 130 nonmanagement employees of 6 organizations, the authors found that managers who score higher on transformational leadership tend to hold more central positions in organizational advice and influence networks. Furthermore, the direct reports of these leaders were also more central in informal organizational networks. These results illuminate one of the ways that managers who exhibit transformational leadership behaviors may exert influence in organizations. Nurses (N := 179; Study 1) and managers (N = 154; Study 2) participated in 2 panel studies examining the relationship among prior commitment (affective and continuance commitment and perceived organizational support), coping strategies, and survivors' attitudes and perceptions during and following downsizing. In Study 1, perceived organizational support was significantly positively related to control-oriented coping, job satisfaction, and intention to remain and negatively related to perceived job insecurity and burnout 2 years later. In Study 2, coping mediated the relationship between the prior commitment variables and job alienation, health symptoms, and burnout following the downsizing. Control-oriented coping was associated with elevated levels of health symptoms and burnout following the downsizing, suggesting that control-oriented coping may have positive effects in the short term but potentially harmful effects in the long term.
