The free vibration of the laminated composite anticlastic doubly curved stiffened shells is investigated using the finite element method. The stiffened shell element is obtained by appropriate combination of the nine-node doubly curved isoparametric thin shallow shell element with the three-node curved isoparametric beam element. The shell forms include the hyperbolic paraboloid, hypar, and conoidal shells. The accuracy of the formulation is validated by comparing the authors’ results of specific problems with those available in the literature. The additional problems are taken up for parametric studies to include the effects of fiber orientation and lamina stacking sequence of shells and stiffeners. Moreover, the effects of number, types, and orientations of stiffeners, and stiffener depth to shell thickness ratio on the fundamental frequency are also included in the present study. Further, mode shapes corresponding to the fundamental frequency for typical cases are obtained to verify the parametric trend of the results of the fundamental frequency. 相似文献

Presented is a new microplane model for concrete, labeled M5, which improves the representation of tensile cohesive fracture by eliminating spurious excessive lateral strains and stress locking for far postpeak tensile strains. To achieve improvement, a kinematically constrained microplane system simulating hardening nonlinear behavior (nearly identical to previous Model M4 stripped of tensile softening) is coupled in series with a statically constrained microplane system simulating solely the cohesive tensile fracture. This coupling is made possible by developing a new iterative algorithm and by proving the conditions of its convergence. The special aspect of this algorithm (contrasting with the classical return mapping algorithm for hardening plasticity) is that the cohesive softening stiffness matrix (which is not positive definite) is used as the predictor and the hardening stiffness matrix as the corrector. The softening cohesive stiffness for fracturing is related to the fracture energy of concrete and the effective crack spacing. The postpeak softening slopes on the microplanes can be adjusted according to the element size in the sense of the crack band model. Finally, an incremental thermodynamic potential for the coupling of statically and kinematically constrained microplane systems is formulated. The data fitting and experimental calibration for tensile strain softening are relegated to a subsequent paper in this issue, while all the nonlinear triaxial response in compression remains the same as for Model M4. 相似文献

In this study, a finite element method proposed by Hsu et al. in 2003 is extended to develop a numerical model for the simulation of wave transformation in the surf zone. The governing equation is the elliptic mild-slope equation including the energy dissipation of wave breaking. At the open boundaries with varying depth, the reflected waves caused by shoaling are adopted to the radiation boundary conditions. The rationality of the present numerical model is examined through the cases of offshore parallel breakwater problems. The results of calculation are in good agreement with experimental results. 相似文献

An important objective of health monitoring systems for civil infrastructures is to identify the state of the structure and to detect the damage when it occurs. System identification and damage detection, based on measured vibration data, have received considerable attention recently. Frequently, the damage of a structure may be reflected by a change of some parameters in structural elements, such as a degradation of the stiffness. Hence it is important to develop data analysis techniques that are capable of detecting the parametric changes of structural elements during a severe event, such as the earthquake. In this paper, we propose a new adaptive tracking technique, based on the least-squares estimation approach, to identify the time-varying structural parameters. In particular, the new technique proposed is capable of tracking the abrupt changes of system parameters from which the event and the severity of the structural damage may be detected. The proposed technique is applied to linear structures, including the Phase I ASCE structural health monitoring benchmark building, and a nonlinear elastic structure to demonstrate its performance and advantages. This paper investigates the influence of anisotropy and destructuration on the behavior of a test embankment on soft clay. The test embankment at Murro, Finland, was commissioned in 1993 by the Finnish Road Administration and has been monitored for over 10?years. The construction and consolidation of Murro test embankment is analyzed with finite element method using three different constitutive models to represent the soft soil. The results are compared with field observations. The constitutive models used include two recently proposed constitutive models, namely S-CLAY1 that accounts for initial and plastic strain induced anisotropy and its extension, called S-CLAY1S. The S-CLAY1S model accounts, additionally, for interparticle bonding and degradation of bonds. For comparison, the test embankment is also analyzed using the isotropic Modified Cam Clay model. The simulations demonstrate that for this type of problem, it is important to account for the anisotropy, whereas destructuration appears to have less influence on predicted deformations. However, only a model incorporating destructuration can explain the decrease in undrained shear strength during consolidation that was measured in field. 相似文献
