The use of fibre reinforced polymers (FRPs) as rebars in reinforced concrete (RC) elements is a viable means to prevent corrosion effects that reduce the service life of members employing steel reinforcement. However, durability of FRP rebars is not straightforward as it is related to material properties as well as bar–concrete interaction. A state of the art of durability of FRP rebars is presented herein in order to highlight issues related to the material properties and interaction mechanisms which influence the service life of RC elements. The design approach implemented in international codes is discussed and the reduction factors taking into account the durability performances are summarized. 相似文献

The bi-directional plate bending behavior of a pultruded GFRP bridge deck system with orthotropic material and system properties was investigated by means of two full-scale experiments and numerical modeling. Furthermore, the maximum span of the deck between two main girders was determined using Eurocode loading and presupposing a maximum deflection ratio of span/300.
Compared to an isotropic plate-strip, the bi-directional behavior of the orthotropic deck was not very pronounced. Nevertheless, selecting experiment specimen with five profiles instead of only three reduced the maximum deflections at the serviceability limit state (SLS) by ca. 50%.
Therefore, since the SLS governs in the design of GFRP bridge decks, the possible contribution of bi-directional plate bending is not insignificant and should be considered and improved in order to fully exploit the potential of pultruded GFRP bridge decks. 相似文献

In this paper, the machinability of high-strength glass–fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP) materials in turning with chamfered main cutting edge of P and K type carbide tools have been investigated experimentally. Chip formation mechanisms have been obtained with respect to tip's geometries and nose radii. Experimental results for cutting forces were also taken with GFRP as the workpiece material. Force data from these tests were used to estimate the empirical constants of the mechanical model and verify its prediction capabilities. The results show good agreement between the predicted and measured forces. In this study, the nose radius R = 0.3 mm induces a decrease of the cutting force and the smallest cutting force values was achieved in the case of Cs = 20°, S1(S2) = −10°(10°) and R = 0.3 mm. Comparing the different P and K type of tools, K type tool is better than P type of chamfered main cutting edge tools. The theoretical values of cutting forces were calculated and compared with the experimental results; the forces predicted by this model were consistent with the experimental values. 相似文献
