Consumers conventionally adopt diesel generation to meet the energy needs where the grid connection is unreliable or unavailable. While electrification has provided these communities a variety of economic and social opportunities, diesel consumption has resulted in adverse costs and environmental pollution. Two technologies available to reduce the expense and emissions of diesel fuel reliance include dual fuel or hybrid diesel applications. The dual-fuel approach involves a supplementary gas fuel charge in support of reduced diesel fuel consumption. Hybrid applications involve the integration of renewable generation to displace diesel fuel consumption. This paper reviews the potential for hybrid dual-fuel applications, identifying engine flexibility as a major integration barrier. In comparing the flexibility of various dual-fuel technologies to operate dynamically, this paper presents a critical review across hydrogen, liquified petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas (NG) and blended hydrogen and NG derivatives. The results identify a range of approaches able to improve engine flexibility and thus reduce the cost and carbon intensity of diesel-fired internal combustion engines. At low load conditions, while NG and LPG exhibit similar performance, the use of hydrogen and hydrogen blends provide improved engine performance and response. Unfortunately, given the current cost of hydrogen fuel, significant commercial barriers exist to the adoption of hydrogen or hydrogen blended fuels. Despite this, this review indicates the potential of hydrogen-NG blends to offer additional flexibility in comparison to alternative dual-fuel technologies. This position is furthered considering near term cost targets associated with the development of a global green hydrogen industry, coupled with its ability to serve as a demand-side management approach within isolated power systems, one of the multiple future research themes.  相似文献

At present, the major drawback for mobile phones is the issue of power consumption. As one of the alternatives to decrease the power consumption of standard, power-hungry location-based services usually require the knowledge of how individual phone features consume power. A typical phone feature is that the applications related to multimedia streaming utilize more power while receiving, processing, and displaying the multimedia contents, thus contributing to the increased power consumption. There is a growing concern that current battery modules have limited capability in fulfilling the long-term energy need for the progress on the mobile phone because of increasing power consumption during multimedia streaming processes. Considering this, in this paper, we provide an offline meaning sleep-mode method to compute the minimum power consumption comparing with the power-on solution to save power by implementing energy rate adaptation (RA) mechanism based on mobile excess energy level purpose to save battery power use. Our simulation results show that our RA method preserves efficient power while achieving better throughput compared with the mechanism without rate adaptation (WRA).  相似文献

Thermochemical water splitting cycles (TWSCs) are processes with the potential for large-scale production of carbon-free hydrogen. Among these, the sulfur-family thermochemical cycles are considered the most promising due to both, the use of readily affordable chemical reagents and the temperature required to thermally decompose oxygenated sulfur compounds, which is achievable by solar means. Indeed, solar heat assisted metal sulfate decomposition is a key step, where catalysis can be employed to reduce decomposition temperature. Here we present a green route to synthesize Ag-Pd and Fe-Pd intermetallic alloy catalysts supported over γ-Al2O3 and Si-C by a microwave-assisted method using glycerol both as a solvent and as a reducing and stabilizing agent. The obtained supported catalysts were physicochemically characterized. Fe-Pd/Al2O3 catalyst exhibited the best performance, abating the zinc sulfate decomposition temperature by ca. 85 °C in comparison with other reported catalysts.  相似文献

In order to enhance the mechanical properties and thermal properties of wood plastic composites (WPCs), bamboo charcoal (BC) was used as reinforcing filler of WPC, and a series of BC-WPC composites were prepared. The effect of BC and water treatment on water absorptions, morphologies, mechanical properties, the effect of water treatment on mechanical properties and thermal properties of the composites were investigated. The results showed that BC could have strong interfacial interaction in the WPC. The water resistance, flexural properties, tensile properties and thermal properties of BC-WPC were higher than WPC. The flexural and tensile properties were reduced and the impact strength was increased after water treatment. The presence of BC resists the influence of water absorption on composites mechanical properties.  相似文献

To investigate amino acid changes in green coffee beans in the post-harvest period, amino acid concentrations were determined in green beans and after modelled drying, fermentation and storage. After the drying at alternating temperatures up to maximally 40°C, considerable changes in the concentrations of individual amino acids were identified. At the beginning of the storage period, significant changes in concentration were found to a minor extent. Under the condition of drying, it was mainly the concentration of glutamic acid that changed considerably. There was an increase in all the samples by 500 mg/kg dry matter on average, which corresponds to an increase of about 50% of the original value. In contrast, the concentration of aspartic acid in most of the samples decreased clearly due to drying. For the predominant part of the coffee samples, there was a significant increase in the hydrophobic amino acids Val, Phe, Ile and Leu. Changes of the quantities of other amino acids were non-uniform and only insignificant. Constant drying at 80°C for most of the amino acids brought about only minor concentration changes compared to those values obtained at 40°C. Modelled fermentation had no significant effect on the concentrations of the individual amino acids. After a 4-week storage of dried beans, amino acid concentrations did not change further. It is very possible that different post-harvest treatment parameters may influence the amount of aroma precursor compounds in the coffee beans.  相似文献

GC-FID was used to monitor changes over time in palmitic, stearic, arachidic, oleic, linoleic and linoleic acid contents of green beans subjected to various preservation treatments. In beans stored in polyethylene bags at –22°C without prior blanching, all fatty acid contents dropped appreciably within the first month of storage, regardless of whether the beans had been hand- or vacuum-packed. In beans which had been freeze-dried then stored at room temperature in an airtight container, polyunsaturated fatty acid contents dropped appreciably only after 2 months.  相似文献
