Calculating and categorizing the similarity of curves is a fundamental problem which has generated much recent interest. However, to date there are no implementations of these algorithms for curves on surfaces with provable guarantees on the quality of the measure. In this paper, we present a similarity measure for any two cycles that are homologous, where we calculate the minimum area of any homology (or connected bounding chain) between the two cycles. The minimum area homology exists for broader classes of cycles than previous measures which are based on homotopy. It is also much easier to compute than previously defined measures, yielding an efficient implementation that is based on linear algebra tools. We demonstrate our algorithm on a range of inputs, showing examples which highlight the feasibility of this similarity measure. 相似文献

Measuring the structural similarity between an XML document and a DTD has many relevant applications that range from document
classification and approximate structural queries on XML documents to selective dissemination of XML documents and document
protection. The problem is harder than measuring structural similarity among documents, because a DTD can be considered as
a generator of documents. Thus, the problem is to evaluate the similarity between a document and a set of documents. An effective
structural similarity measure should face different requirements that range from considering the presence and absence of required
elements, as well as the structure and level of the missing and extra elements to vocabulary discrepancies due to the use
of synonymous or syntactically similar tags. In the paper, starting from these requirements, we provide a definition of the
measure and present an algorithm for matching a document against a DTD to obtain their structural similarity. Finally, experimental

In this paper, we consider Centroidal Voronoi Tessellations (CVTs) and study their regularity. CVTs are geometric structures that enable regular tessellations of geometric objects and are widely used in shape modelling and analysis. While several efficient iterative schemes, with defined local convergence properties, have been proposed to compute CVTs, little attention has been paid to the evaluation of the resulting cell decompositions. In this paper, we propose a regularity criterion that allows us to evaluate and compare CVTs independently of their sizes and of their cell numbers. This criterion allows us to compare CVTs on a common basis. It builds on earlier theoretical work showing that second moments of cells converge to a lower bound when optimizing CVTs. In addition to proposing a regularity criterion, this paper also considers computational strategies to determine regular CVTs. We introduce a hierarchical framework that propagates regularity over decomposition levels and hence provides CVTs with provably better regularities than existing methods. We illustrate these principles with a wide range of experiments on synthetic and real models. 相似文献

Visualization is a powerful tool for analyzing data and presenting results in science, engineering and medicine. This paper reviews ways in which it can be used in distributed and/or collaborative environments. Distributed visualization addresses a number of resource allocation problems, including the location of processing close to data for the minimization of data traffic. The advent of the Grid Computing paradigm and the link to Web Services provides fresh challenges and opportunities for distributed visualization—including the close coupling of simulations and visualizations in a steering environment. Recent developments in collaboration have seen the growth of specialized facilities (such as Access Grid) which have supplemented traditional desktop video conferencing using the Internet and multicast communications. Collaboration allows multiple users—possibly at remote sites—to take part in the visualization process at levels which range from the viewing of images to the shared control of the visualization methods. In this review, we present a model framework for distributed and collaborative visualization and assess a selection of visualization systems and frameworks for their use in a distributed or collaborative environment. We also discuss some examples of enabling technology and review recent work from research projects in this field. 相似文献

本文以多刚体动力学Kane方程的基本形式为出发点,通过对该方程的重新描述,编制了通用的自动建立动力学方程程序。对于一般多刚体系统,只要输入基本力学量就能由计算机完成动力学方程的推导,并输出易于数值解法的Fortran语言格式程序,避免了大量的手工推导工作,尤其对大自由度系统更能显示其方便性。 相似文献

In this paper, we present a novel method for detecting partial symmetries in very large point clouds of 3D city scans. Unlike previous work, which has only been demonstrated on data sets of a few hundred megabytes maximum, our method scales to very large scenes: We map the detection problem to a nearest‐neighbour problem in a low‐dimensional feature space, and follow this with a cascade of tests for geometric clustering of potential matches. Our algorithm robustly handles noisy real‐world scanner data, obtaining a recognition performance comparable to that of state‐of‐the‐art methods. In practice, it scales linearly with scene size and achieves a high absolute throughput, processing half a terabyte of scanner data overnight on a dual socket commodity PC. 相似文献

对比火墙式火炕和传统火炕内部烟气流动特性、烟气温度分布、炕面温度分布,分析两种炕体结构的热工性能,并为农村火炕的进一步优化设计提供理论依据。利用火灾动力学模拟软件FDS5.3应用大涡模拟方法的场模型、辐射模型模拟分析传统火炕和火墙式火炕的炕面温度、炕内烟气温度分布与烟气流动特性,得到相关云图和温度分布。火墙式火炕的炕面温度比传统型火炕炕面温度高10℃左右,向室内散热量大,在炕火墙和灶同时工作时,炕头中心温度达到85℃。火墙式火炕的炕体结构优于传统火炕,但仍然存在炕头过热的问题,有待进一步优化。 相似文献
