OPTIMIZATION OF PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION EQUIPMENT PART II OPTIMIZATION OF TWO BED OXYGEN GENERATORS

Local equilibrium model described in Part I is used to stimulate both, the steady state operation conditions and transient regime after the start of PSA equipment. The effect of axial dispersion, adsorption isotherm nonlinearity and high pressure level is simulated. On the basis of numerical analysis, the operation of a classical two-bed oxygen generator is compared with two configurations having pressure equalizing step. The optimization strategy of the given PSA equipment has been proposed and the procedure is demonstrated on an example. The scaling-up condition for PSA equipments which can be described by local equilibrium model has been proposed on the basis of the theoretical analysis.     

Cure kinetics and shrinkage model for epoxy-amine systems

Manufacture of most of epoxy resins implies that cure needs to be carried out under pressure. Due to the significance of knowing the influence of the pressure factor in cure kinetics, cure shrinkage of a stoichiometric epoxy-amine system was measured using a pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) analyzer. Recording the specific volume change in the range of temperature from 100 to 180 °C and a pressure of 200 bar we could model the cure kinetics. The Runge-Kutta method was applied to obtain the kinetic constants of the cure reaction. In addition, using the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) for measurements of 1 bar and the PVT analyzer for pressures of 200, 400, and 600 bar, we also model the kinetic constants as a function of pressure. The results obtained show that the effect of the temperature on the kinetic constants is higher than the effect of pressure. Therefore, both PVT and DSC are complementary techniques to describe the full range of cure kinetic process of epoxy mixtures.     

容器焊缝错边残余应力与载荷应力的测定研究

本文对焊接容器错边和不错边的焊接接头进行了电测法的残余应力测试，确定了焊接残余应力的大小及方向，并在加载的条件下，对各焊接接头测点进行了综合应力测试，并给出了受载条件下的应力分布。     

A paraffin-fueled SOFC system design and integration

This paper addresses an integrated design of paraffin-reformer, gas separations and the electricity production with a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). The overall design consists of three modules. First module is a system of paraffin reformer. In this module, the paraffin feed stream is to send to a steam-reformer. In the second module, the gas separations method illustrated is the combination of a methane-permeable membrane with a pressure-swing adsorption (PSA). In the third module, the purified hydrogen is fed to the SOFC unit. To be energy efficient, this paraffin-fueled SOFC system is designed with the consideration of heat integration. The intent of this paper is to provide a possible, alternative way of cogeneration systems for refinery and petrochemical plants.     

有限长矩形压力容器的应力分析法

对有限长承受内压的矩形压力容器，本文提出了同时考虑矩形容器６个面相互作用的分析计算方法。用所编制的程序计算了一个实际的矩形容器，得到了满意的结果。     

A unified theory on solid-liquid separation: Filtration, expression, sedimentation, filtration by centrifugal force, and cross flow filtration

Based upon a new conception that the solid compressive pressure on a cake surface is not null, almost of all solid-liquid separation operations have been re-examined. For cake filtration, the phenomenon caused by the solid compressive pressure on a cake surface is discussed for thin cake. New expression and hindered sed-imentation theories are developed by above new conception using Darcy’s equation. Application of the new conception to centrifugal filtration and tangential filtration is also discussed. Above results lead to the conclusion that cake filtration, expression, hindered sedimentation, centrifugal filtration and tangential filtration can be described with a unified theory, and the main difference between the operations is only the boundary condition of cake.     

Experimental and theoretical study on H2/CO2 separation by a five-step one-column psa process

An experimental and theoretical study is performed for bulk separation of H₂/CO₂ mixture (70/30 volume %) by PSA process with zeolite 5A, a process widely used commercially in conjunction with the catalytic steam reforming of natural gas or naphtha. For the optimized adsorption conditions of PSA, the characteristics of adsorption/desorption characteristics have been studied through breakthrough and desorption experiments under various conditions. The purge-to-feed ratio is important to the H₂ product purity only at a long adsorption step time. H₂ could be concentrated from 70% in the feed to 99.99% at H₂ recovery of 67.5%. The results of all five steps in PSA are successfully predicted by the LDF model considering an energy balance and nonlinear isotherm. For the model, the effective diffusivities (D,) are obtained separately from the uptake curves of H₂ and CO₂. The Langmuir-Freundlich isotherm is used to correlate the experimental equilibrium data and is very well fitted to the results.
