The paper addresses the problem of preserving the same LTI approximation of a nonlinear MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) system. It is shown that when a nonlinear MIMO system is modeled by a multidimensional Volterra series, periodic noise and random multisines are equivalent excitations to the classical Gaussian noise, in a sense that they yield in the limit, as the number of the harmonics M→∞, the same linear approximation to the nonlinear MIMO system. This result extends previous results derived for nonlinear SISO (single-input single-output) systems. Based upon the analysis of the variability of the measured FRF (frequency response function) due to the presence of the nonlinearities and the randomness of the excitations, a new class of equivalent input signals is proposed, allowing for a lower variance of the nonlinear FRF measurements, while the same linear approximation is retrieved. 相似文献

Microbial communities display complex population dynamics, both in frequency and absolute density. Evolutionary game theory provides a natural approach to analyse and model this complexity by studying the detailed interactions among players, including competition and conflict, cooperation and coexistence. Classic evolutionary game theory models typically assume constant population size, which often does not hold for microbial populations. Here, we explicitly take into account population growth with frequency-dependent growth parameters, as observed in our experimental system. We study the in vitro population dynamics of the two commensal bacteria (Curvibacter sp. (AEP1.3) and Duganella sp. (C1.2)) that synergistically protect the metazoan host Hydra vulgaris (AEP) from fungal infection. The frequency-dependent, nonlinear growth rates observed in our experiments indicate that the interactions among bacteria in co-culture are beyond the simple case of direct competition or, equivalently, pairwise games. This is in agreement with the synergistic effect of anti-fungal activity observed in vivo. Our analysis provides new insight into the minimal degree of complexity needed to appropriately understand and predict coexistence or extinction events in this kind of microbial community dynamics. In this paper, a new tensorial modeling is first proposed for nonlinear multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) direct sequence spread spectrum communication systems. The channel is modeled as an instantaneous MIMO Volterra system. Then, a direct data approach for joint blind channel estimation and data recovery is developed using the parallel factor (PARAFAC) decomposition of a third-order tensor composed of received signals, exploiting space, time and code diversities. A blind channel estimation method based on the PARAFAC decomposition of a fifth-order tensor composed of covariances of the received signals is also proposed, considering phase shift keying (PSK) modulated transmitted signals. Aiming at the problem of parameter estimation in analog circuits, a new approach is proposed. The approach is based on the fractional wavelet to derive the Volterra series model of the circuit under test(CUT). By the gradient search algorithm used in the Volterra model, the unknown parameters in the CUT are estimated and the Volterra model is identified.
