Buckling optimization of hybrid-fiber multilayer-sandwich cylindrical shells under external lateral pressure

This paper describes a method of analyzing the maximum buckling strength of hybrid-fiber multilayer-sandwich cylindrical shells under external lateral pressure with respect to fiber orientations and weighting factors. Formulae for optimizing these parameters are presented and conditions for the application of these formulae are discussed. A discriminant is derived for assessing whether the hybrid sandwich cylindrical shells for given different unidirectional composites should reach the extreme value of critical pressure.     

Lyapunov analysis of the approximate motion equations of flexible structures

In this paper, the effectiveness of the approximate motion equations of a flexible structure, obtained by the RitzKantorovich method, is analysed by using Lyapunov functions. The analysis, which is restricted to the case of a single flexible beam for the sake of simplicity, is carried out under the assumption that a partial dissipation is present, affecting only the first degrees of freedom of the system. By means of suitable Lyapunov functions, an overbounding estimate of the quadratic approximation error is determined as a decreasing function of the approximation order. The analysis is completed by considering the two ‘extreme’ cases: the theoretical absence of dissipation and the presence of structural dissipation, affecting all the infinite degrees of freedom.

本文提出了桩结构物－非线性地基空间相互作用分析的迭代法和非线性有限元法。其中，桩基分析用ｐ－ｙ曲线法。结合实际结构物进行了大量的计算及比较分析，成果是令人满意的，可以付诸应用。     

高层结构几何非线性分析的QR法

本文利用ＱＲ法分析高层建筑结构几何非线性问题，建立了新的计算格式。该法不仅未知量的数目少，精度高，而且输入简单，计算速度快，可以用微机分析复杂问题。     

不锈钢网架结构试验研究

对奥氏体不锈钢网架结构的物理力学性能、焊接性能加以分析，并进行了不锈钢焊接空心球节点承载力试验，确定了该种节点的受拉和受压承载能力。在此基础上，又做了不锈钢组合扭网壳模型的破坏性试验研究，试验结果与理论计算值比较，吻合较好。

Canonical density control

The Sparse Table is a data structure for controlling density in an array which was first proposed in 1981 and has recently reappeared as a component of cache-oblivious data structures. All existing variants of the Sparse Table divide the array into blocks that have a calibrator tree above them. We show that the same amortized complexity can be achieved without this auxiliary structure, obtaining a canonical data structure that can be updated by conceptually simpler algorithms.     

Electrochemical properties of ultra-long,aligned, carbon nanotube array electrode in organic electrolyte

The electrochemical properties of an electrochemical double-layer capacitor electrode based on an ultra-long (500 μm), aligned, carbon nanotube array (ACNTA) in Et₄NPF₆/propylene carbonate electrolyte are examined. The specific capacitance of the ACNTA electrode in an organic electrolyte is 24.5 F g⁻¹, which is larger than that obtained in an aqueous electrolyte. The results of ac impedance measurements show that the ACNTA electrode gives a high power density and an excellent rate capability in an organic electrolyte. It is shown that the ACNTA electrode has a lower equivalent series resistance and a better rate capability than activated carbon electrode. This is due to the fact that ACNTA possesses a larger pore size and a more a regular pore structure. Both these features are conformed by scanning electron microscopic and nitrogen gas adsorption studies.     

Criteria of dynamic buckling estimation of thin-walled structures

The paper deals with dynamic buckling of thin-walled structures (plates and beam-columns with open cross-section) subjected to compressive rectangular pulse loading. The local, global and interactive dynamic buckling was analysed. Author proposes the new criterion for critical amplitude of pulse loading leading to stability loss. The proposed criterion is a modification of quasi-bifurcation criterion formulated by Kleiber, Kotula and Saran. Results obtained using proposed criterion were compared with other well-known criteria (Volmir (V) and Budiansky–Hutchinson (B–H) criterion).
