A sol–gel based deposition method was successfully developed to produce a series of crack-free, spatially homogeneous undoped/silver doped titania–vanadia oxide nanocomposite thin films. Thin films were characterized using Glancing Incidence X-ray Diffraction (GIXRD), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), and Ultraviolet Visible Spectroscopy (UV–Vis). It was determined via both XRD and XPS that when calcined at 450 °C the nanocomposite crystallinity was a function of sol composition. Additionally, it was determined via GIXRD that upon silver doping, silver was incorporated into the vanadia structure or present in silver oxide form in crystalline films. A red shift within the UV–Vis spectra was observed with an increase of vanadia concentration from 0 to 100% respectively. Antibacterial analysis conducted on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis demonstrated that films exposed to light showed greater antibacterial properties.  相似文献

Disordered nanoporous silver (NPAg) thin films fabricated by a thermally assisted dewetting method are employed as a platform to influence chain alignment, morphology, and optical properties of three well‐known conjugated polymers. Grazing‐incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering (GIWAXS) measurements show that the porous structure of the metal induces close π–π stacking of poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT) chains and extended, planar chain conformations of poly(9,9‐di‐n‐octylfluorenyl‐2,7‐diyl) (PFO) and poly[(9,9‐di‐n‐octylfluorenyl‐2,7‐diyl)‐alt‐(benzo[2,1,3]thiadiazol‐4,8‐diyl)] (F8BT). A greater degree of vertically‐oriented P3HT chains are found on NPAg compared with planar Ag. However, PFO and F8BT chain alignment is only affected when pore size is large. The optical properties of NPAg films are investigated by transmission and back‐scattering spectroscopies. Strong back‐scattering is observed for all NPAg morphologies, especially for NPAg with small pore sizes. Photoluminescence spectroscopy of conjugated polymer layers on NPAg showed pronounced emission enhancements (up to factors of 26) relative to layers on glass. The enhancements are attributed primarily to: 1) redistribution of conjugated polymer emission by Ag; 2) redirection of emission by polymer‐filled nanopores; and 3) local electromagnetic field effects. This work demonstrates the potential of NPAg‐thin films to influence molecular chain morphology and to improve light‐extraction in organic optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

The present study deals with the shear lag phenomenon in cold formed angles under tension, which are connected on one leg. A new expression for shear lag factor which represents the net section reduction coefficient has been suggested in the present paper. The proposed expression based on the regression analysis of 108 experimental results reported in the literature is validated by experiments involving net section failure in angles under tension. Totally 18 experiments were carried out on single angles fastened with bolts to the gusset plates under tension loaded upto net section rupture mode of failure. The experimental test parameters considered are number of bolts, pitch and shear lag distances and ratio of connected leg length to unconnected leg length. The tensile capacities are evaluated by various specifications such as AS/NZS:4600:2005, NAS:2001, AISC:2005, BS:5950-Part5:1998, IS:800-2007 and the proposed equation. A comparative study of tensile capacities predicted based on various codes and the experiment results is presented in this paper. For the tested range of specimens, both NAS:2001 and AISC:2005 standards over-predicted the capacities for all the specimens. The IS:800-2007 and AS/NZS 4600:2005 predictions are good for the specimens with three bolted connections and unconservative in the case of specimen with two bolts. Both BS:5950-Part-5:1998 and the proposed equation for IS:801 predict good estimate of the tensile capacity of cold formed angle members. The proposed equation for cold formed steel tension members, which is in the same format of IS:800 (2007) (Indian code for Hot rolled steel design), has been demonstrated to be good.  相似文献

This paper studies the design of hob cutters for generating the multi-cutting angles (radial rake angle, relief angle, and clearance angle) of helical cutting tools in one hobbing process. The current manufacturing process can be greatly improved if the cutting edges in the normal section profile, the rack profile, of a hob cutter are designed with several cutting edges with different pressure angles, so that the helical cutting tools with multi-cutting angles can be formed in one generating process. This paper, therefore, designs a rack profile of a hob cutter consisting of three straight cutting edges with different pressure angles and a curved cutting edge. By applying the equations of designed rack profiles of hob cutters, the principle of coordinate transformation, the theory of differential geometry, and the theory of gearing, the mathematical models of the helical cutting tool can be derived. In addition, the formulas for the radial cutting angle, relief angle, and clearance angle can be derived. Meanwhile, solid modelling of the helical cutting tool can be carried out with computer graphics programming. The results of this paper will contribute to the improvement of the design technology of hob cutters, to enhance the manufacturing processes of helical cutting tools, and to assist tool-related industries in upgrading their technology and competitive abilities.  相似文献

Two mechanisms of the hypothesized social causation of psychopathology--differential incidence and cumulative prevalence--were tested over 9 years in a nationally representative sample of 1,075 children and youths, ages 8-17 at Time 1 (1986). Analyses using parental responses on behavior checklists at 4 time points showed significant increases in clinical elevations for those of the lowest socioeconomic status (SES) on anxious/depressed, somatic complaints, thought problems, delinquent, and aggressive syndromes. This SES-linked differential incidence supports the social causation hypothesis that factors associated with SES contribute to variations in levels of psychological problems. SES-linked differential cumulative prevalence was found for withdrawn and somatic complaints; this finding indicates that low-SES cases do not improve as much as do middle- and high-SES cases, which results in greater accumulation of low-SES cases. It is a well-known fact that a symmetric spacecraft with two control torques supplied by gas jet actuators is not controllable, if the two control torques are along axes that span the two-dimensional plane orthogonal to the axis of symmetry. However, feedback control laws can be derived for a restricted problem corresponding to attitude stabilization about the symmetry axis. In this configuration, the final state of the system is a uniform revolute motion about the symmetry axis. The purpose of this paper is to present a new methodology for constructing feedback control laws for this problem, based on a new formulation for the attitude kinematics.  相似文献

Based on an industrial case study, the performance of a rotary dryer employed in a mineral processing plant was investigated. The loads on the rotating elements of the dryer are analyzed with a view to ascertaining possible causes of failure. The particular type of dryer comprises a steam-heated drying unit composed of a central hollow drum and a number of parallel sets of circular heating tubes attached to the drum via radial header tubes. The drying unit rotates inside a stationary vessel containing the moist mineral ore. Blades attached by welds to the outer circular heating tubes assist in the circulation and transport of the ore through the dryer. However, in the actual dryer, the blade angles were less than optimal for good feed of material through the drying unit, and their welded attachments were a source of high levels of concentrated stress. While the close spacing between parallel sets of circular heating tubes is beneficial for heat transfer for the drying process, the close spacing leads to material buildup problems impeding the material feed. Influence of the variation of blade angle on feeding performance was investigated, and the various loads acting on the tubes and blades were analyzed.  相似文献

An experimental study of the block shear capacity of ten full-scale coped beams with a welded clip angle connection was presented in Part I. The test results were compared with predictions using block shear design equations in several current design standards. In general, the results showed that the existing design standards did not provide consistent predictions of the block shear capacity of coped beams with welded clip angles. In addition, the equations provided by the standards cannot accurately reflect the failure mode of the specimens observed in the tests. In order to gain a better understanding of the connection behavior, such as the stress distribution in the web near the periphery of the clip angles and the failure mechanism of the connection, an analytical study of the block shear capacity of coped beams with welded clip angles was carried out using the finite element method. Based on the limited test data and the results of the finite element analysis (FEA), a strength model was established and a design equation was proposed to evaluate the block shear strength of coped beams with welded clip angles. It was shown that the proposed design equation gave better predictions of the block shear capacity of the specimens.  相似文献
