In this paper, the microstructure evolution and processing–microstructure relationship in the non-isothermal local loading forming of TA15 titanium alloy were studied through an analog experiment. Some new microstructural mechanisms are found, which are different from those under isothermal local loading forming. In the non-isothermal local loading forming, the tri-modal microstructure consisted of equiaxed primary α, lamellar α and β transformed matrix is achieved. The lamellar α, not produced under isothermal condition, is generated by β → α transformation due to the decrease of component temperature. With the same processing parameters, the volume fraction and grain size of primary α are both greater than those processed isothermally. The content of lamellar α decreases with heating temperature decreasing and little lamellar α can be found when the heating temperature drops to 930 °C. Under small deformation degree, the lamellar α distributes randomly in each feature region. As deformation increases, the lamellar α in transitional region and second-loading region present a preferred orientation perpendicular to the compression direction. The primary α content almost decreases linearly with heating temperature, which is different from the regular that under isothermal condition. Non-isothermal local loading forming with a higher heating temperature (near-β region) offers a cost-efficient way for the manufacture of TA15 titanium alloy large-scale integral components.  相似文献

Mill scale is one of the most hazardous waste generated from the steelmaking industry. In 2014, around 16.4–32.8 million t of mill scale was generated all over the world. In this paper, we present recent results about the effect of the structure and microstructure of iron-rich glass-ceramics obtained from mill scale on their electrical behavior. Five iron-rich glass compositions were investigated. The crystalline phases of the crystallized (glass-ceramic) materials were identified by X-ray diffractometry, and phase content quantifications were performed by the Rietveld method. The crystallinity and porosity were also related to the electrical behavior of the glass-ceramics, which was determined by impedance spectroscopy, and the hardness, measured by the Vickers indentation method. Albite, andradite, anorthite, clinopyroxene, franklinite, nepheline, and spinel were shown to be the main crystalline phases present in the investigated compositions. The conductivity showed an increasing trend with the degree of crystallinity. This behavior was attributed to a decrease in porosity, an increase in the concentration of charge carriers in the glass phase (iron, Li+, and Na+), and an increase in the number of conduction paths through the glassy phase/crystalline phase interfaces. The relationship between hardness and crystallinity could not be verified due to the structural complexity of the glass-ceramics studied. However, a nearly linear relationship was found between the effect of porosity and hardness. The G2Z composition exhibited a hardness of 6.1 ± 0.5 GPa at 850 °C, which is a value in very good agreement with other iron-rich glass-ceramics studied.  相似文献

Abstract

The degradation of thermal barrier coatings is closely linked to their spalling resistance which depends on the stability of the protective oxide scale produced by oxidation of the bond-coat. This study deals with a characterisation of the oxide layer, its interfaces with the bond-coat and the ceramic and their evolution during isothermal oxidation at 1,100°C. The microstructural evolution of the bond-coat, the outer part of the superalloy and the ceramic layer was also studied.  相似文献

Hematite pellet is required to be indurated at very high temperature to achieve its good strength as there is no exothermic heat of oxidation unlike magnetite. As mill scale contains mainly FeO and Fe3O4, any minor amount of its addition in pellet can provide in situ heat and enhance diffusion bonding and sintering. In this study, the mill scale generated in steel plant is added as magnetite input in hematite pellet both in acidic and in basic condition. It has been found that in fluxed pellet, mill scale can improve the properties of pellet. In acidic pellet, the induration temperature has been reduced to a great extent (1250–1275°C) and all properties have been found to be improved due to the addition of 15% mill scale. Mill scale shows enough potential to eliminate the flux addition in producing blast furnace quality pellet from hematite ore. Thus, the flux free acidic pellet has been developed even at very low temperature (1275°C) of induration.  相似文献

The continuous reduction in the oxide scale of hot-rolled steel strip in H2–N2 atmosphere was simulated in laboratory. Scale specimens were reduced in 20% H2–N2 or 50% H2–N2 atmosphere. The sample weight losses were measured after soaking at 550, 700 and 800°C. In both atmospheres, specimen reduced at 700°C showed the minimum weight loss after soaking for 240?s. At 700 and 800°C, higher hydrogen concentration accelerated the reaction in the beginning of soaking, but had little effect once the dense-reduced iron layer formed. While at 550°C, the reduced iron kept growing in porous structure and the weight loss rate increased significantly in higher H2 concentration.  相似文献

European cities have been committed to achieve urban sustainability, participating in interurban networks dealing with socio-ecological issues. By examining the incentives derived by the involvement in these networks and the municipal political milieu where the decision about network participation is taken, this article seeks to understand the motivations for European cities to take part in sustainability networks. To do so, a small-N qualitative analysis was undertaken. The results show that cities’ participation in socio-ecological urban networks (SEUNs) is motivated by the economic, political and formative incentives that membership provides, and is influenced by institutionalised values, political agency and previous cooperative experience.  相似文献
