Many-Body Terms in van der Waals Cohesion Energy of Nanotubes 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We have developed a model for the calculation of van der Waals force for layered systems with axial symmetry. Our result can be applied to compute the cohesion of a carbon nanotube to a substrate, the cohesion between nanotubes, and between shells of multiwall nanotubes. Summary A derivation of a parallel algorithm for rank order filtering is presented. Both derivation and result differ from earlier designs: the derivations are less complicated and the result allows a number of different implementations. The same derivation is used to design a collection of priority queues. Both filters and priority queues are highly efficient: they have constant response time and small latency.
Anne Kaldewaij received an M.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands) and a Ph.D. degree in Computing Science from the Eindhoven University of Technology. Currently, he is associate professor in Computing Science at Eindhoven University. His research includes parallel programming and the design of algorithms and data structures. He enjoys teaching and he has written a number of textbooks on mathematics and programming.
Jan Tijmen Udding received an M.Sc. degree in Mathematics in 1980 and a Ph.D. degree in Computing Science in 1984 from Eindhoven University of Technology. Dispersions of single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) in poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) assisted by a lithium‐based anionic surfactant demonstrate an electrical percolation of 0.03 wt.‐% and a geometrical percolation, inferred from melt rheometry, of 0.09 wt.‐%. Both the melting temperature and the extent of crystallinity of the PEO crystals decrease with increasing SWNT loading. Raman spectroscopy of the nanocomposites indicates a down‐shift of the SWNT G‐modes and suggests that the nanotubes are subjected to tensile stress transfer from the polymer at room temperature. 相似文献

We developed a process to obtain sharper silicon tips by employing anisotropic etching in a KOH solution followed by SF6 plasma etch. The tips were further sharpened using the established thermal oxidation technique to decrease the cone angle and, therefore, obtain smaller curvature radii. We have analyzed the impact of such changes in geometry on a figure of merit associated with the field emission characteristics. Nanoadhesives of epoxy resin are synthesized and evaluated. They are organically modified by multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) (1% by weight) as reinforcement. Tensile tests are conducted on multiple identical unnotched and notched specimens to evaluate the overloading and fracture behavior of the nanoadhesives and are compared with the neat epoxy resin. In comparison with the neat epoxy, it is found that the 1% MWCNT reinforcement increased the ultimate and residual strength by about 29% and 56%, respectively. In comparison with the neat resin, there is a 265% increase in the fracture toughness of the MWCNT adhesive. Fracture surface analysis revealed the various mechanisms by which the MWCNT adhesives acquire their superior strength and toughness in comparison with the neat resin. 相似文献

A simple method has been devised for immobilization of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) covalent bonding to a multiwall carbon
nanotube (MWNT)-cross-linked cellulose acetate composite on a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) and a sensitive and disposable
amperometric sensor for rapid determination of carbaryl pesticide is proposed. The immobilized enzyme was preserved on this
film because of the excellent biocompatibility and non-toxicity of cellulose acetate. Based on the inherent conductive properties
of the MWNT, the immobilized AChE had greater affinity for ATCl and excellent catalytic effect in the hydrolysis of ATCl.
MWNT improved the interface enzymatic hydrolysis reaction and increased the amperometric response of the sensor. Under optimum
conditions, the inhibition of carbaryl on AChE increased linearly with the increasing concentration of carbaryl in two ranges,
from 0.01 to 0.5 μg mL−1 and from 2 to 20 μg mL−1, with the correlation coefficients of 0.9985 and 0.9977, respectively. The detection limit was 0.004 μg mL−1 taken as the concentration equivalent to 10% decrease in signal. The sensor showed acceptable stability, accuracy and could
be fabricated in batches, thus it is economic and portable. This type of disposable enzyme-based amperometric sensor has extensive
