The image of women in psychology textbooks.

In an analysis of the content of ten recently published textbooks in psychology, the author concludes that most textbooks contain the implication that psychologists are male by using language and illustrations reinforcing this suggestion, and by citing women authors less frequently than their number and eminence would suggest. Experiments and studies reported in psychology textbooks frequently fail to indicate sex of subjects or, alternatively, are based on male samples. The results of such studies are then frequently generalized to both sexes. The relative neighborhood graph for mixed feature variables

The rectangular influence graph (RIG) is presented as an extension of the relative neighborhood graph (RNG). The RNG is an efficient tool for analyzing the clustering of multidimensional feature vectors when all the features are quantitative. The RIG is a similar tool that can accommodate feature vectors some of whose components are qualitative. We show that the RIG is a superset of the Gabriel graph with respect to any Minkowski metric.As tools to analyze interclass structure, the interclass RIG (IRIG) and the mutual neighborhood graph (MNG) are presented. These graphs can be used to reduce the training set in the design of piecewise linear classifiers. The MNG leads also to a sufficient condition for the linear separability between classes.     

Poly-view Analysis on Endogenous Innovation and Corporation＇s Selection of Innovation Patterns

Today, there are still some amphibolous understanding on the concepts of endogenous innovation and its three patterns in academia field. Grasping the intension and extension of these concepts will contribute to direct the innovation undertakers engaging innovation and the governments establishing innovation system. In order to achieve such aims, we firstly introduced the concept of endogenous innovation and its three patterns. Secondly, this paper established a concept model to describe the typical route of a technology＇s forming. Based on this model, we went deep into analysis on original innovation, integrative innovation, and re-innovation after digesting the introduced technology from different views. Through these analyses, we also discussed which kind of innovation is suitable for different corporations. In the last part of this paper, we summarized our main conclusions and gave some suggestions to the corporations and governments.

An interactive data visualization system

GRAFANA is an interactive program, which allows the user to produce drawings based on data stored on a disk file. The major advantage and originality of the system is that the user can interactively determine the visual effect of a drawing and immediately see it on the screen. Moreover, any drawing produced by GRAFANA can still be edited by a generalpurpose graphics editor. This system allows the user to obtain precisely the right drawing for any book, paper or report. GRAFANA has been implemented in MIRA-2D, a graphical Pascal extension. It is available for different machines and kinds of graphical devices.

济钢3200 m3高炉实施强化冶炼技术以来,炉况的变化可分为两个阶段:第1阶段,高炉综合品位高,焦炭及烧结矿质量好,高炉风量、产量提升;第2阶段,受原料资源的限制,焦炭质量变差,烧结矿Al2O3含量高,渣比高,炉缸活性提升困难,风量低,产量下降。结合实际冶炼条件,提出了炉况调整思路,维持了高炉生产系统的稳定,实现了高炉长期稳定顺行。

Bluetooth wireless monitoring,diagnosis and calibration interface for control system of fuel cell bus in Olympic demonstration

With the worldwide deterioration of the natural environment and the fossil fuel crisis, the possible commercialization of fuel cell vehicles has become a hot topic. In July 2008, Beijing started a clean public transportation plan for the 29th Olympic games. Three fuel cell city buses and 497 other low-emission vehicles are now serving the Olympic core area and Beijing urban areas. The fuel cell buses will operate along a fixed bus line for 1 year as a public demonstration of green energy vehicles. Due to the specialized nature of fuel cell engines and electrified power-train systems, measurement, monitoring and calibration devices are indispensable. Based on the latest Bluetooth wireless technology, a novel Bluetooth universal data interface was developed for the control system of the fuel cell city bus. On this platform, a series of wireless portable control auxiliary systems have been implemented, including wireless calibration, a monitoring system and an in-system programming platform, all of which are ensuring normal operation of the fuel cell buses used in the demonstration.
