Estimating the number of good permutations by a modified fast simulation method

A permutation (s₀, s₁,…, s_{N − 1}) of symbols 0, 1,…, N − 1 s called good if the set (t₀, t₁,…, t_{N − 1}) formed according to the rule t_i = i + s_i (mod N), i = 0, 1,…, N − 1, is a permutation too. A modified fast simulation method is proposed to evaluate the number of good permutations for N = 205 with a 5% relative error. Robust dissipativity of discrete systems and its investigation with the help of a sequence of sets of Lyapunov functions

A generalized concept of robust dissipativity is introduced and theorems on the analysis of this property are formulated and proved with the help of the Lyapunov functions method. It is proposed to use a specially constructed sequence of sets of Lyapunov functions that can allow one to improve the initial estimate of the boundary set of a dissipative system up to the establishment of the asymptotic robust stability property in the limiting case. A Bias Correction for Cross-validation Bandwidth Selection when a Kernel Estimate is Based on Dependent Data

Least-squares cross-validation (LSCV) bandwidth selection for kernel density estimation has been shown to underestimate the optimal bandwidth if data are positively correlated. We calculate the asymptotic bias for the LSCV criterion under a continuous-time model and apply it as a correction term to discrete-time data that can be modeled as a smooth continuous-time process sampled at a high rate.
