Layout-Specific Circuit Evaluation in 3-D Integrated Circuits

In this paper, we describe a comprehensive layout methodology for bonded three-dimensional integrated circuits (3D ICs). In bonded 3D integration technology, parts of a circuit are fabricated on different wafers, and then, the wafers are bonded with a glue layer of Cu or polymer based adhesive. Using our layout methodology, designers can layout such 3D circuits with necessary information on inter-wafer via/contact and orientation of each wafer embedded in the layout. We have implemented the layout methodology in 3DMagic. Availability of 3DMagic has led to interesting research with a wide range of layout-specific circuit evaluation, from performance comparison of 2D and 3D circuits to layout-specific reliability analyses in 3D circuits. Using 3DMagic, researchers have designed and simulated an 8-bit encryption processor mapped into 2D and 3D FPGA layouts. Moreover, the layout methodology is an essential element of our ongoing research for the framework of a novel Reliability Computer Aided Design tool, ERNI-3D.     

稀疏阵列天线综合的遗传算法优化

通过遗传算法优化选择常规满阵中一定比例的工作单元,使阵列在欠饱和状态下达到窄波束低副瓣的要求。以单元的工作状态和激励幅度为优化参量,波束宽度和副瓣电平为适值函数,通过适值缩放和多种群进化竞争使遗传进化稳定地收敛到全局最优。详细分析了稀疏阵的单元布局、稀疏率及单元激励对优化阵列特性的影响。     

Creep of PVDF monofilament sutures: service performance prediction from short-term tests

Isothermal short-term creep of poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) monofilament sutures was determined at several temperatures between 10 and 90 °C under the stress of 10 MPa. Long term service performance was predicted for 10 decades of time. The compliance master curve as a function of time fits a hyperbolic sine equation. The temperature shift factor as a function of the temperature a_T (T) is accurately represented by a general equation based on free volume. A simple relationship between the two parameters of the equation is explored. The viscoelasticity of PVDF is also seen in dynamic mechanical analysis performed at the frequency of 1 Hz. The origin of the viscoelastic character well present in the deformability of the PVDF in service is due to the occurrence of the α_c relaxation that is active at ∼50 °C (E″ peak at 1 Hz).     

Accuracy of teacher judgments in predicting oral reading fluency.

The relationship between teachers' judgments versus actual performance on curriculum-based measures in reading was examined. A total of 30 regular education teachers were asked to predict the oral reading fluency score of students along with a rating scale of reading subskills. Correlations between teacher judgment measures and student performance found that teachers were accurate reporters of student performance levels in reading. However, some questions were raised whether teachers were accurate at predicting the actual level of student oral reading fluency when effect sizes were used to compare teacher judgment and actual student performance. Recommendations for continued research in understanding the parameters of the accuracy of teacher judgment are made. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2011 APA, all rights reserved)     

Post-Event Rumination and Negative Self-Appraisal in Social Phobia Before and After Treatment.

This study investigated the relationship between self-appraisals of performance, symptom severity and post-event rumination in social phobia, and evaluated the effect of treatment on these variables. A socially phobic group and a nonanxious control group performed an impromptu speech and were told that their performance would be evaluated. Participants appraised their performance immediately after the speech and 1 week later, and the frequency of post-event rumination during the week following the speech was assessed. The socially phobic group maintained the negative appraisals of their speech over the week, whereas the nonclinical group showed increased positivity about their performance The socially phobic group also engaged in more negative rumination than controls. Treatment improved perceptions of performance and reduced negative rumination. These results are discussed in the light of cognitive models of social phobia. 2003年11月龙滩工程将实现大江截流，随着工程建设的全面推进，越发显出实施龙滩水电站正常蓄水位400m一次建成方案的重要性和紧迫性。相对分期建设而言，400m水位一次建成，工程效益大、增加投资少、无后期加高过程中的各种技术难题，基本不影响电站的初期发电效益，水轮机设计与运行问题少、机组运行条件好，电站规模效益与社会综合效益巨大，有利于移民安置和库区经济的发展，对国家、地方、企业均十分有利，因此应尽快决策实施400m一次建成方案。     

磷酸酯淀粉在纯棉细特高密织物浆纱中的应用

就磷酸酯淀粉在纯棉细号高密织物中的上浆情况进行了试验，提出了具体浆纱工艺和减少织造断头率，提高织物效率及布面质量对策，实验表明，磷酸酯淀粉完全适应于纯绵细特高密织物的上浆要求。     

Methodologies for characterizing traffic in wide area networks: Analysis and benchmarking

Since computer networks play an important role in distributed computing environments, an application's performance depends heavily on the quality of service provided by the communication networks. To ensure a high performance, the characteristics of wide area networks, WANs, must be well understood. This paper presents methodologies to characterize WAN traffic based on real measurements from Bellcore's backbone network that connects remote sites using dedicated T1 links. This paper also suggests some workload models that can be used for wide area network sizing and performance evaluation studies. It is found that the inter-site traffic pattern depends on the time of the day and the day of the week. Furthermore, the traffic between two sites is found to be reasonably symmetric, except for those sites designated as back-up sites. The coefficient of variation is used as a measure for the traffic burstiness and it is found to be 1·5 degree during working hours. The methods presented here are easy to use and cost-effective.     

Evaluating the design of flexible manufacturing systems

Evaluating the design of flexible manufacturing systems is complex. Developing a measure of performance useful for evaluating alternate designs continues to be interesting. Here, total productivity of the system is proposed as an appropriate measure. Specification of parameters based upon strategic considerations for this measure are discussed. Finally, the usefulness of the measure is demonstrated through an example.
