While the importance of information technology in reducing soaring healthcare costs and enhancing service quality is increasingly being recognized, significant challenges remain in how it is implemented. Although there are a few studies investigating key IT issues in healthcare in advanced countries, there are virtually none in developing countries. We bridge this gap by investigating the critical information technology issues in healthcare facilities in Turkey. These issues are developed based on the opinions of senior hospital managers. The top ten issues include privacy, quality, security, and the implementation of electronic medical records. Further analyses provide additional insights into the results. 相似文献

Abstract— A fabrication technique and characteristics of high‐power‐handling microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) optical scanners for laser 3‐D volumetric‐image display application is reported. The MEMS scanner is designed to control the reflection of high‐power YAG‐laser beam by using the optomechanical combination of a dielectric‐film‐coated mirror cube and an electrostatic‐MEMS‐scanner platform. These hybrid‐type MEMS optical scanners have a stroke of about 20° at resonant frequencies of 600 Hz when a 45‐V pulse voltage is applied. 相似文献

This paper builds on the existing literature on tests of the null hypothesis of deterministic seasonality in a univariate time-series process. Under the assumption of independent Gaussian errors, we derive the class of locally weighted mean most powerful invariant tests against unit roots at the zero and/or seasonal frequencies in a seasonally observed process. Representations for the limiting distributions of the proposed test statistics under sequences of local alternatives are derived, and the relationship with tests for corresponding moving average unit roots is explored. We also propose nonparametric modifications of these test statistics designed to have limit distributions which are free of nuisance parameters under weaker conditions on the errors. Our tests are shown to contain existing stationarity tests as special cases and to extend these tests in a number of useful directions. 相似文献

This study examined the relationship between self and subordinate ratings of leadership and the relationship between self and peer ratings of leadership for 964 managers from 21 countries. Using multilevel modeling, the authors found that cultural characteristics moderated the relationship between self and others’ ratings of leadership. Specifically, the relationship between self and subordinate ratings, as well as between self and peer ratings, was more positive in countries that are characterized by high assertiveness. The relationship between self and subordinate ratings, as well as between self and peer ratings, was also more positive in countries characterized by high power distance. The authors also found a leniency bias in individualistic cultures for self, peer, and subordinate ratings. This paper takes the perspective of both managers and of employees to examine the determinants of training transfer in the wine industry. To that end, a number of conceptual hypotheses are formulated focusing on three factors: the design of the training, the characteristics of the trainees, and those of the organization, with these being tested using information from the Rioja wine industry (Spain). Three contextual characteristics are compared: the company ownership, its location, and its size. The results indicate that, from the perspective of management, transfer is related to the organizational environment; while from the perspective of the employee, transfer reflects their motivation for training. According to managers, significant differences exist among the three contexts, while, according to employees, there are no contextual differences. 相似文献
