Bubble-point pressures and saturated-liquid densities of the binary R-135 (pentafuoroethane) + R- 143a ( 1, 1, 1-trifluoroethane) system have been measured for several compositions at temperatures from 280 to 330 K by means of a magnetic densimeter coupled with a variable-volume cell mounted with a metallic bellows. The experimental uncertainties of the temperature, pressure. and density measurements and the composition determination were estimated to be within ±15 mK, ±13 k Pa, ±0.2%, and ±0.1 wt%, respectively. The purities of the samples used throughout the measurements are 99.98 wt% for R-125 and 99.0 mol % for R- 143a. Based on the present data, the thermodynamic behavior of the vapor-liquid equilibria of this binary refrigerant mixture has been evaluated by using the Peng-Robinson equation for the bubble-point pressures, and the modified Hankinson-Brobst-Thomson equation for the saturated-liquid densities. Compositional data occur as natural realizations of multivariate observations comprising element proportions of some whole
quantity. Such observations predominate in disciplines like geology, biology, ecology, economics and chemistry. Due to unit
sum constraint on compositional data, specialized statistical methods are required for analyzing these data. Dirichlet distributions
were originally used to study compositional data even though this family of distribution is not appropriate (see Aitchison,
1986) because of their extreme independence properties. Aitchison (1982) endeavored to provide a viable alternative to existing
methods by employing Logistic Normal distribution to analyze such constrained data. However this family does not include the
Dirichlet class and is therefore unable to address the issue of extreme independence. In this paper generalized Liouville
family is investigated to model compositional data which includes covariates. This class permits distributions that admit
negative or mixed correlation and also contains non-Dirichlet distributions with non-positive correlation and overcomes deficits
in the Dirichlet class. Semiparametric Bayesian methods are proposed to estimate the probability density. Predictive distributions

A vibrating U-tube apparatus has been developed for determining the densities of pure fluids and fluid mixtures at 10-200 MPa and 323-773 K. Measured parameters areP,T, andr (period of vibration). Fluids are injected into the U-tube at constantP andT. Three or more reference fluids are used to calibrate the response of the instrument. Fluid mixtures are produced by pumping pure fluids into T-junctions on the upstream side of the U-tube using high accuracy syringe pumps. An automated syringe pump is used to maintainP at setpoint ±0.01 MPa.T is controlled to ±0.01 K using a closed-loop, electronic signal amplification/feedback system. For mixtures, a statistically significant number of measurements of r are obtained to account for the effects of small heterogeneities in fluid composition (generally <0.005X;). Typically, density data for 15 fluids can be obtained in a 6- to 8-h period. Measurements of saturated liquid viscosities and densities were performed on environmentally acceptable hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), CH3CCl2F (HCFC-141b), CH3CClF2 (HCFC-142b; only for viscosity), CF3CF2CHCl2 (HCFC-225ca), and CClF2CF2CHClF (HCFC-225cb), using a capillary viscometer and a glass pycnometer in the temperature range from 273 to 353 K. The uncertainty in the measurement of viscosity is estimated to be 5% based on the comparison of the present data with those in the literature for HCFC-141b. The Bi-system tapes and coils were prepared by the powder-in-tube method. The effect of processing and heat treatment on the properties of the tapes and coils was studied. It is found that the shearing stress produced by the rolling process may destroy the 2223 phase, and the destroyed 2223 phase cannot be recovered by heat treatment, whereas the pressing stress produced by the uniaxial pressing process only makes the 2223 phase grains break, and the broken 2223 phase can be closed by the heat treatment.
