Contributions of Oral and Extraoral Facial Movement to Visual and Audiovisual Speech Perception.

Seeing a talker's face influences auditory speech recognition, but the visible input essential for this influence has yet to be established. Using a new seamless editing technique, the authors examined effects of restricting visible movement to oral or extraoral areas of a talking face. In Experiment 1, visual speech identification and visual influences on identifying auditory speech were compared across displays in which the whole face moved, the oral area moved, or the extraoral area moved. Visual speech influences on auditory speech recognition were substantial and unchanging across whole-face and oral-movement displays. However, extraoral movement also influenced identification of visual and audiovisual speech. Experiments 2 and 3 demonstrated that these results are dependent on intact and upright facial contexts, but only with extraoral movement displays. 弱导光纤的标量衍射光束特性分析

仿照罗兰圆光学系统构造罗兰球光学系统 ,在罗兰球中简化电磁波的瑞利 索末菲标量衍射积分公式 ,推导出折射率阶跃分布的弱导光纤LP模衍射场分布和空间频谱的计算公式。提出LP0 1模远场衍射分布存在类似于平面波圆孔夫琅禾费衍射艾里斑的中央亮斑概念 ,并给出中央亮斑角半宽度的计算公式。     

支持向量机在交通量预测中的应用

交通量预测对于区域交通规划有重要意义。提出一种基于支持向量机理论的交通量预测方法。该方法以统计学习理论为基础，通过和BP神经网络进行比较的实验，证明其在交通量预测中的有效性。     

A Detection-Theoretic Model of Echo Inhibition.

A detection-theoretic analysis of the auditory localization of dual-impulse stimuli is described, and a model for the processing of spatial cues in the echo pulse is developed. Although for over 50 years "echo suppression" has been the topic of intense theoretical and empirical study within the hearing sciences, only a rudimentary understanding of its mechanisms has emerged. In this article, psychometric functions and results from matching studies are used in developing a model that specifies the perceived position of the echo pulse as a normal deviate, with an expectation that is a logistic function of the echo delay and a variance that depends on interaural time difference. Loss of information in the echo event is quantified as a decline in the efficiency with which the binaural system receives information from the lag impulse. Threshold‐Based Camera Motion Characterization of MPEG Video

We propose an efficient scheme for camera motion characterization in MPEG‐compressed video. The proposed scheme detects six types of basic camera motions through threshold‐based qualitative interpretation, in which fixed thresholds are applied to motion model parameters estimated from MPEG motion vectors (MVs). The efficiency and robustness of the scheme are validated by the experiment with real compressed video sequences.     

利用机载SAR图像仿真星载SAR图像

简要介绍了现有的SAR图像仿真方法,提出了一种利用机载SAR图像进行星载SAR图像仿真的方法,对仿真原理进行了阐述,着重研究了图像几何特性、空间分辨率、噪声特性、辐射特性仿真的数学模型及设计流程,最后进行了计算机仿真。结果分析表明得到的仿真图像具有较高的逼真度,该星载SAR图像仿真方法是有效的。     

Numerical modelling for scattering of waves in three-dimensional cracked material

In this paper, a mathematical model is proposed for the problem of the scattering of plane waves in a three-dimensional cracked materials. Instead of obtaining closed-form solutions as in conventional theoretical analysis methods, this approach, called the Equivalent Nodal Force (ENF) method formulates the mechanical effects of cracks as an equivalent nodal force in a numerical procedure, and physically translates cracked material into an equivalent continuous one. Several mechanical relations between waves and cracks are evident from this method. Also the results of several numerical calculations are presented and these are compared with those obtained by the conventional methods.     

Hemispheric contributions to nonverbal abstract reasoning and problem solving.

Hemispheric involvement in reasoning abilities has been debated for some time, and it remains unclear whether the right hemisphere's involvement in problem solving is modality specific or dependent on the type of spatial reasoning required. In the current study, 2 types of nonverbal reasoning abilities were examined, spatial reasoning and proportional reasoning, in 109 patients with cerebrovascular disease that was confined to either the right or the left hemisphere or was diffuse in nature. Results indicated that no lateralizing effects were present based on type of spatial reasoning. Findings are consistent with the suggestion that higher order cognitive processes involved in nonverbal abstraction and problem solving are not strongly lateralized to the right hemisphere but rather are more generally distributed throughout the cortex.
