The Transport Properties of Hot Electrons in a Xenon/Methane Mixture

The results are given of numerical solution of the Boltzmann equation in a binomial approximation in view of elastic and inelastic electron collisions in Xe+CH₄ mixtures and in pure methane. The electron energy distribution functions obtained are used to calculate the electron transport coefficients for E/N values of up to several Townsends, i.e., the drift velocity, mobility, average and characteristic energies, diffusion coefficient. The results of calculation for pure methane fit the available experimental data. A similarity rule is found for the electron transport coefficients in a Xe+CH₄ mixture with different concentrations of methane molecules, which enables one to determine the values of transport coefficients in a mixture with a minor (less than 30 percents) methane content.

It takes two to mimic: Behavioral consequences of self-construals.

The present studies demonstrated the moderation of self-construal orientation on mimicry. Recent research has indicated that an interdependent self-construal is associated with assimilation of the other to the self whereas an independent self-construal is associated with minimizing the influence of others on the self (H. R. Markus & S. Kitayama, 1991; D. Stapel & W. Koomen, 2001). Therefore, the authors hypothesized that an interdependent self-construal would be associated with more mimicry than an independent self-construal. When self-construal orientations were experimentally primed. as in Studies 1 and 2, independent self-construals produced less nonconscious mimicry than interdependent self-construals. When self-construals were examined as cultural differences with either a chronically dominant independent (Americans) or interdependent (Japanese) construal of the self, these results were replicated. 遗落的明珠——浅谈岑参山水写景诗的艺术价值

唐代诗人岑参以边塞诗闻名于中国古代诗坛，同时他的山水写景诗写得也毫不逊色，取得了极高的艺术成就，特别是其清淡、清新、清旷、清丽的“四清”并行的艺术风格尤为突出。由于历史和个人原因，岑参的山水写景诗历来鲜为人知，但这并不能否定其特有的艺术价值。

High cycle fatigue of bolted connections Extensive tests regarding the influences on the fatigue of bolt‐nut‐connections of preloading with torsion, of preloading with yielding, of loading with superimposed bending and of the tested lot are processed. These influences are not yet known according to VDI 2230. New testing devices were designed for these tests, which allow a far less expensive operation and may easily be used for bolts of diameters up to M100 and testing frequencies up to 1000 Hz. The validity of fatigue resistance according to VDI 2230 is specified with respect to the test results. The determined influence of the tested lots is unexpectedly high. The manufacturing process of bolts should be improved to minimize this influence.
