Breaking Symmetries and Constraints: Transitions from 2D to 3D in Passive Walkers

The inherent dynamics of bipedal, passive mechanisms are studiedto investigate the relation between motions constrained to two-dimensional (2D)planes and those free to move in a three-dimensional (3D) environment. Inparticular, we develop numerical and analytical techniques usingdynamical-systems methodology to address the persistence and stabilitychanges of periodic, gait-like motions due to the relaxation ofconfiguration constraints and the breaking of problem symmetries. Theresults indicate the limitations of a 2D analysis to predictthe dynamics in the 3D environment. For example, it is shownhow the loss of constraints may introduce characteristically non-2Dinstability mechanisms, and how small symmetry-breaking terms may result inthe termination of solution branches.     

大规模分布式入侵检测系统的研究

现在的入侵检测系统大多存在系统可扩展性差、入侵检测技术单一、缺乏对入侵事件有效的响应机制等问题,难以满足企业对入侵检测系统在规模及有效性上的的需求。文章设计了一种大规模分布式入侵检测系统的整体模型,并在系统中综合运用了多种入侵检测方法和响应机制,使整个系统具有好的规模扩展性、高的入侵检测性能和有效的响应机制。

Design of artificial neural networks for tool wear monitoring

An on-line scheme for tool wear monitoring using artificial neural networks (ANNs) has been proposed. Cutting velocity, feed, cutting force and machining time are given as inputs to the ANN, and the flank wear is estimated using the ANN. Different ANN structures are designed and investigated to estimate the tool wear accurately. An existing analytical model is used to obtain the data for various cutting conditions in order to eliminate the huge cost and time associated with generation of training and evaluation data. Motivated by the fact that the tool wear at a given instance of time depends on the tool wear value at a previous instance of time, memory is included in the ANN. ANNs without memory, with one-phase memory, and with two-phase memory are investigated in this study. The effect of various training parameters, such as learning coefficient, momentum, temperature, and number of hidden neurons, on these architectures is studied. The findings and experience obtained should facilitate the design and implementation of reliable and economical real-time systems for tool wear monitoring and identification in intelligent manufacturing.     

热处理对Gx180CrWV-20铸造合金高温磨损特性的影响

研究了Gx180CrWV-20铸造合金在不同热处理条件下组织结构和硬度的变化以及热处理温度和磨损试验温度对其高温磨损性能的影响。结果表明，1050℃淬火 480℃回火可使该合金在600℃以下的高温工况条件下具有较好的高温磨损特性。     

Agent-Mediated Electronic Commerce

Electronic commerce has been one of the traditional arenas for agent technology. The complexity of these applications has been a challenge for researchers that have developed methodologies, products, and systems, having in mind the specificities of trade, the interaction particularities of commerce, the strict notion of commitment and contract, and the clearly shaped conventions and norms that structure the field. In this paper I survey some key areas for agent technology which, although general, are of special importance in electronic commerce, namely, solid development methodologies, negotiation technologies and trust-building mechanisms. I give examples of systems in which I have directly participated, although I also try to refer to the work of other AgentLink Special Interest Group members over the last few years.     

过滤在液压润滑中的重要作用及应用实例

液压介质的污染是液压元件过早磨损的主要原因。介绍了污染源产生的原因及污染颗粒的磨损机理，结合自己工作中的实例论述了液压介质清洁度对液压润滑系统的重要性。     

Compomer的摩擦磨损特性

采用Compoglass，F2000，Elan，Dyract AP4种牙科用复合体材料(Compomer)，对其玻璃颗粒含量和表面硬度进行了测量，并在球一盘往复摩擦磨损试验机上考察了它们的摩擦磨损特性。结果表明：F2000的摩擦系数最高，Elan的摩擦系数次之，Compoglass和DyractAP的摩擦系数分别为第三和第四．摩擦系数随玻璃颗粒含量的增加而增加．在同样试验条件下，低摩擦系数的DyractAP和Compoglass与高摩擦系数的F2000和Elan相比具有较好的耐磨性．磨损机理主要表现为由玻璃颗粒脆性断裂引起的玻璃颗粒脱落和磨粒磨损。     

Connectivity oriented fast Hough transform for tool wear monitoring

Tool wear monitoring can be achieved by analyzing the texture of machined surfaces. In this paper, we present the new connectivity oriented fast Hough transform, which easily detects all line segments in binary edge images of textures of machined surfaces. The features extracted from line segments are found to be highly correlated to the level of tool wear. A multilayer perceptron neural network is applied to estimate the flank wear in various machining processes. Our experiments show that this Hough transform based approach is effective in analyzing the quality of machined surfaces and could be used to monitor tool wear. A performance analysis of our Hough transform is also provided.
