Invariance properties of RAMS and linear time

An operation on integers isLTTC if it is computable in linear time on a Turing machine (using the dyadic or binary representation of integers). AnLTTC-RAM (respectivelyI-RAM) is a RAM which only uses LTTC operations (respectively operations in the setI).The address-free time complexity measure of a RAM evaluates execution times using the logarithmic cost criterion but assumes that addressing operations are performed for free.     

Rolling texture and its effect on tensile property of a near-α titanium alloy Ti60 plate

Rolling texture and its effect on tensile properties of Ti60 alloy plates were investigated in the present study. The plates wereβ-rolled at 1070℃ and(α+β)-rolled at 980℃, using uni-directionally rolling(UDR) and cross-directionally rolling(CDR) processes, respectively.β-rolled plates exhibited weak textures, which were attributed to the dispersive orientations of secondary α during the β→α phase transformation. Strong deformation textures formed in(α+β)-rolled plates as a result of slipping mechanisms: the strong T-type texture in UDR plate was related to {10 1 0}[11 2 0] slipping, while the B-type texture in CDR plate was relevant with {0001}[11 2 0] slip. Strong T-type textures led to anisotropic tensile properties. B-type textures would decrease such an anisotropy. The(α+β)-CDR process was found to be a candidate process for reducing anisotropy of Ti60 alloy plates.

本文所阐述的水下无线技术即基于跳频技术和同步捕获技术的水声通信,由于声波在海水中的传播特性显著优越于电磁波和可见光,使得水声技术成为海洋高技术的主要研究领域之一 ,在国防领域也具有十分重要的研究意义.本文主要论述了水声通信中跳频技术和同步捕获技术的原理、具体算法的实现方案以及部分硬件设施的使用简述,并通过展示实验结果验证算法的可行性.     

Group path covering and distance two labeling of graphs

For a positive integer d, an L(d,1)-labeling f of a graph G is an assignment of integers to the vertices of G such that |f(u)−f(v)|?d if uv∈E(G), and |f(u)−f(v)|?1 if u and u are at distance two. The span of an L(d,1)-labeling f of a graph is the absolute difference between the maximum and minimum integers used by f. The L(d,1)-labeling number of G, denoted by λd,1(G), is the minimum span over all L(d,1)-labelings of G. An L^′(d,1)-labeling of a graph G is an L(d,1)-labeling of G which assigns different labels to different vertices. Denote by the L^′(d,1)-labeling number of G. Georges et al. [Discrete Math. 135 (1994) 103-111] established relationship between the L(2,1)-labeling number of a graph G and the path covering number of Gc, the complement of G. In this paper we first generalize the concept of the path covering of a graph to the t-group path covering. Then we establish the relationship between the L^′(d,1)-labeling number of a graph G and the (d−1)-group path covering number of Gc. Using this result, we prove that and for bipartite graphs G can be computed in polynomial time.     

Directional neighbor discovery in 60 GHz indoor wireless networks

Signal propagation in the 60 GHz band significantly differs from that in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. In particular, the signals are often reflected in indoor settings in this band. Directional antennas can help limit the impact of reflection, but make the process of neighbor discovery complex. We consider this problem in this paper. We examine two approaches (a) direct discovery where each node explicitly discovers its neighbors, and (b) gossip-based discovery where nodes exchange information about their already discovered neighbors. We analyze the two approaches and validate our models via simulations. We examine the impact of system parameters such as varying beamwidth and node density.

On the Efficient Evaluation of Coalescence Integrals in Population Balance Models

The solution of population balance equations is a function f(t,r,x) describing a population density of particles of the property x at time t and space r. For instance, the additional independent variable x may denote the particle size. The describing partial differential equation contains additional sink and source terms involving integral operators. Since the coordinate x adds at least one further dimension to the spatial directions and time coordinate, an efficient numerical treatment of the integral terms is crucial. One of the more involved integral terms appearing in population balance models is the coalescence integral, which is of the form ∫ ₀ ^x κ(x–y, y) f(y) f(x–y)dy. In this paper, we describe an evaluation method of this integral which needs only operations, where n is the number of degrees of freedom with respect to the variable x. This cost can also be obtained in the case of a grid geometrically refined towards x=0.
