Electrochromic devices (ECDs), which can dynamically vary optical properties under applied specific voltage, have been actively studied for use in applications requiring human comfort and energy efficiency (i. e. smart windows and electronic displays). In order to improve the electrochromic (EC) performances, many researchers have been using nanomaterials. In this respect, in the present study, we highlight some of valuable examples using WO3 from unique nanostructures to quantum dots (QDs) and discuss the core relationship between nanostructuring and EC performances. Electrochromic nickel oxide based thin films were prepared by reactive RF magnetron sputtering from metallic nickel in the presence of Ar, O2 and H2O. The water vapor led to enhanced optical modulation and charge capacity. At a wavelength of 550 nm the bleached state transmittance was 0.73 and the transmittance for the colored state was 0.28 and 0.15 for water partial pressures of pH2O < 10−3 Pa and pH2O ~ 7 × 10−2 Pa, respectively. The charge densities were 14 and 25 mC/cm2 for pH2O < 10−3 Pa and pH2O ~ 7 × 10−2 Pa, respectively. The coloration efficiency was decreased with increased water partial pressure, from about 0.07 to 0.06 cm2/mC. Preliminary results show that the H2O promotes an amorphous structure and makes the films increasingly hydrous. 相似文献

Molybdenum-doped vanadium pentoxide (Mo-doped V2O5) thin films with doping levels of 3-10 mol% were prepared by dip-coating technique from a stable Mo-doped V2O5 sol synthesized by sol-gel and hydrothermal reaction. The Mo-doped V2O5 films had a layered V2O5 matrix structure along c-axis orientation with Mo6+ as substitutes. Values of the inserted and extracted charge density of 21.4 and 21.3 mC·cm− 2 and the transmittance variation (ΔT at 640 nm) between anodic (+ 1.0 V) and cathodic (− 1.0 V) colored states of 41% were observed for the films with 5 mol% Mo6+ doping. Above this dopant concentration, the charge capacity and ΔT decreased. The enhancement of the electrochemical and electrochromic properties of the films is related to changes in the electronic properties of V2O5 films due to the creation of energy levels in the band gap of V2O5 by the Mo doping, accompanied by the reduction of the forbidden-band width and the increase of the conductivity. 相似文献

Electrochromic performance of WOxCy films deposited onto 60 Ω/□ flexible PET (polyethylene terephthalate)/ITO (indium tin oxide) substrates by low temperature plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) was investigated. It was proven that extraordinary electrochromic performance was provided when the precursor [tungsten carbonyl, W(CO)6; TC] vapor, carried by argon gas, was mixed with air gas and synthesized by radio frequency (r.f.) power at room temperature (23 °C). Cyclic voltammetry switching measurements found that only low driving voltages from − 1 V to 1 V were needed to provide reversible Li+ ion intercalation and de-intercalation. The light modulation with up to 63.6% of transmittance variation at a wavelength of 650 nm was obtained for 150 cycles of Li+ intercalation and de-intercalation in a 0.1 M LiClO4-PC (propylene carbonate) electrolyte. 相似文献

In the last 10 years Gesimat has developed a large-area electrochromic glazing with an advanced polymer electrolyte and tungsten oxide and Prussian Blue as complementary electrochromic layers. This electrochromic glass has a switching range between 75% and 8% visible transmittance and between 56% and 6% solar transmittance. The polymer electrolyte is based on polyvinyl butyral (PVB), a polymer in use as an interlayer for laminated safety glass since more than 60 years. The electrochromic films are deposited by a new large-area electrodeposition process. For lamination the standard methods of laminated safety glass production can be used. 相似文献

Cerium dioxide (CeO2) thin films were prepared by spray pyrolysis using hydrated cerium chloride (CeCl3·7H2O) as source compound. The films prepared at substrate temperatures below 300°C were amorphous, while those prepared at optimal conditions (Ts=500°C,s=5 ml/min) were polycrystalline, cubic in structure, preferentially oriented along the (2 0 0) direction and exhibited a transmittance value greater than 80% in the visible range. The cyclic voltammetry study showed that films of CeO2 deposited on ITO pre-coated glass substrates were capable of charge insertion/extraction when immersed in an electrolyte of propylene carbonate with 1 M LiClO4.These films also remained fully transparent after Li+ intercalation/deintercalation. 相似文献

In the present work, anatase TiO2 films are prepared by sol–gel spin coating method. The structural and optical properties of the films have been studied at different post-annealing temperatures. The photocatalytic activity and electrochromic performance of the films are investigated. The films annealed at 400 °C exhibit the highest photocatalytic activity with a rate constant of 4.56×10−3 min−1. The electrochromic performance for the films annealed at 400 °C expressed in terms of difference in optical density (ΔOD) at 550 nm between coloured and bleached state is 0.5493. This combination of photocatalysis and electrochromism makes the sol–gel derived titania thin films as promising candidates for self-cleaning smart window applications. 相似文献

Tungsten oxide films have been formed by poly-complex. The dip-coating solution was prepared by adding hydrogen peroxide to a tungsten acid solution which was obtained from ion exchange. Amorphous and crystalline films can be obtained at different firing temperature. Optical and electrochemical measurements of these films have been carried out. The XRD, IR, TG-DTA analysis and SEM morphologies observation are also described. The results show that these coatings have good electrochromic properties. 相似文献
