Non-aqueous rechargeable Al–O2 battery with a bifunctional catalyst of carbon microspheres

Non-aqueous secondary Al-O₂ batteries have recently received much attention due to their high theoretical capacity, element richness, safety and low cost, although there are still many problems to be overcome. In this paper, a type of Al-O₂ battery using AlCl₃/[EMIm]Cl ionic liquid as electrolyte and carbon microspheres (CMs) as air electrode was considered. The batteries with CMs deliver a high specific capacity of 820 mAh g^?1 in the first cycle at the current density of 25 mA g^?1 and a low charge voltage. In addition, CMs show better redox catalytic activity for O₂ compared with super-p (SP) and the Al-O₂ batteries have two obvious oxygen reduction processes corresponding to two reductive peaks.     

An effective separation and purification of rutin and scoparone from Herba Artemisiae Scopariae by solid-phase extraction cartridges packed with an ionic liquid-based silica

Five types of ionic liquid-based silica were synthesized as solid-phase extraction (SPE) sorbents for separation and purification of bioactive compounds, that is, rutin and scoparone extracted from Herba Artemisiae Scopariae. The SilprBImCl material with the highest adsorption capacity was selected as the sorbent for SPE packing. Ethyl acetate and water were found to be suitable washing and eluting solvents, respectively. SilprBImCl was then applied to multi-phase extraction, and its superiority as a sorbent over the commercial cartridge was proven with high rutin and scoparone recoveries of 90.5% and 83.9%, respectively. This highlights the potential of ionic liquid-based silica materials applied to SPE and MPE.     

室温下离子液体中间体1-(3’-磺酸基)丙基-3-甲基咪唑盐的合成

在室温条件下合成离子液体中间体1-(3’-磺酸基)丙基-3-甲基咪唑盐。反应条件为:以丙酮为溶剂,1,3-丙磺酸内酯与N-甲基咪唑(1∶1.1,摩尔比)为原料,在室温下搅拌反应4 h。过滤后,向反应母液中可直接加入等摩尔比的两种反应原料循环使用。所得产品颗粒均匀,结晶度好。一次反应的产率为57.8%,滤液循环4次的总产率可达95%。以IR、1HNMR和MS表征产品的结构。该方法在室温进行,反应母液循环利用,具有操作简单、节约能源和溶剂用量少等优点。     

Application of LS-SVM strategy to estimate H2S loading capacity in different ionic liquids and alkanolamines

Favorable properties of aqueous solutions are improved with the addition of different materials for separation of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). Also, equilibrium data and available equations for solubility estimation of this gas are only valid for specific solutions and limited ranges of temperature and pressure. In this regard, a machine learning model based on Support vector machine (SVM) algorithm is proposed and developed with mixtures containing different amines and ionic liquids to predict H₂S solubility over wide ranges of temperature (298–434.5 K), pressure (13–9319 kPa), overall mass concentration (3.82–100%) and mixture's apparent molecular weight (18.39–556.17 g/mol). The accuracy of the performance of this network was evaluated by regression analysis on calculated and experimental data, which had not been used in network training.     

Antisolvent micronization of BSA using supercritical mixtures carbon dioxide + organic solvent

In this work, expanded liquid antisolvent (ELAS) process has been used to micronize bovine serum albumin (BSA) solubilized in water. Carbon dioxide mixtures with ethanol, acetone or isopropyl alcohol, at expanded liquid conditions, have been used as the antisolvent. The effect of process parameters, such as the kind of co-antisolvent and the organic co-antisolvent/water/carbon dioxide mole fraction on the morphology and dimensions of the precipitates, was studied. Changing co-antisolvent and operating conditions, we obtained nanoparticles (with a mean diameter of about 60 nm ± 10 nm), sub-microparticles (with a mean diameter of 470 nm ± 130 nm), microparticles (with a mean diameter of 0.93 μm ± 0.37 μm) and expanded microparticles with an empty core (with a mean diameter of about 9 μm ± 5 μm). Fourier transform infrared analysis on BSA powders revealed that, using acetone as co-antisolvent, no modifications of the protein secondary structure were induced by ELAS processing.     

烧结工艺对90W-Ni-Mn合金微观结构和力学性能的影响

针对W-Ni-Mn合金难以烧结致密化的问题,在传统氢气烧结工艺的基础上,发展新型氢气烧结工艺,使90W-4Ni-6Mn合金的相对密度达到98.32%,但仍未达到全致密,并存在部分形状不规则的孔隙和锰的氧化物。为使合金能够烧结全致密,本文再次开发了一种新的真空-氩气烧结工艺,使90W-4Ni-6Mn合金的相对密度高达99.82%,近乎全致密。对合金进行力学性能测试,并利用扫描电镜(SEM)观察其微观结构和断口形貌,结果表明:90W-4Ni-6Mn合金的抗拉强度和伸长率均随预烧结保温还原时间延长而增大,在100 min时达最大值,分别为1 030.25 MPa和24.2%,此时钨晶粒尺寸为6.2μm。经分析,90W-4Ni-6Mn合金的优异性能主要得益于烧结密度的提高和晶粒尺寸的细化。     

Amphiphilic drug interactions with model cellular membranes are influenced by lipid chain-melting temperature

Small-molecule amphiphilic species such as many drug molecules frequently exhibit low-to-negligible aqueous solubility, and generally have no identified transport proteins assisting their distribution, yet are able to rapidly penetrate significant distances into patient tissue and even cross the blood–brain barrier. Previous work has identified a mechanism of translocation driven by acid-catalysed lipid hydrolysis of biological membranes, a process which is catalysed by the presence of cationic amphiphilic drug molecules. In this study, the interactions of raclopride, a model amphiphilic drug, were investigated with mixtures of biologically relevant lipids across a range of compositions, revealing the influence of the chain-melting temperature of the lipids upon the rate of acyl hydrolysis.
