Most of the research in the area of performance evaluation of rule‐based expert systems (RBESs) is focused on verification and validation issues. Many researchers discuss usability, usefulness, portability, and response time for the evolution of RBES. The final goal of all such studies is to construct a system with optimal, accurate knowledge base. Arguably, a system with best knowledge base is actually worthless if it is never utilized in the real world. We have proposed “benefit” as a measure of evaluation and suggested some guidelines for performance evaluation of RBESs. The proposed measure has been demonstrated for performance evaluation of an RBES applied in the medical billing domain. Results showed that the system has saved hundreds of working hours during the evaluation period of 3 months. Moreover, other associated measures have also been considered. Associated measures in the medical billing domain are “claim rejection rate”—reduced by 54%—and “claim aging,” which has decreased from 34 to 28 days due to the RBES. Guidelines proposed by this research can be applied for the evaluation of expert systems implemented in other application domains, including in the first place business decision support systems.  相似文献

Health literacy rates among American and European adults remain low, with almost half of adults having only basic levels in 2012. In this digital era, the Internet has been recognized as an important medium for improving health literacy. However, little is known about the mechanisms that underlie its impact on health literacy. With a general basis in the Cognitive Mediation Model, this study empirically tested a model that included motivation for health-related Internet use, health-related Internet use, perceived health information overload, and health literacy. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the US-based Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS) 2013 dataset. The results support for all the paths in our posited model. The effects of motivation for health-related Internet use on health literacy were completely mediated by health-related Internet use and perceived health information overload. The findings extend the Cognitive Mediation Model to the context of health literacy and provide significant implications for the design and dissemination of online health information. Recommendations are made for future research, including further validation of the five-item scale of health literacy.  相似文献

The Internet of Health things (IoHT) has numerous applications in healthcare by integrating health monitoring things like sensors and medical devices for remotely observe patient’s records to provide smarter and intelligent medicare services. To avail best healthcare services to the users using the e-health applications, in this paper, we propose an IoT with cloud based clinical decision support system for the prediction and observance of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) with its level of severity. The proposed framework collects the patient data using the IoT devices attached to the user which will be stored in the cloud along with the related medical records from the UCI repository. Furthermore, we employ a Deep Neural Network (DNN) classifier for the prediction of CKD and its level of severity. A Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based feature selection method is also used to improve the performance of DNN classifier. The proposed model is validated by employing the benchmark CKD dataset. Different classifiers are employed to compare the performance of the proposed model under several classification measures. The proposed DNN classifier alone predicts CKD with an accuracy of 98.25% and is further enhanced to 99.25 by PSO-FS method. At the same time, the improved classification performance is verified with higher values of 98.03 specificity, 99.25 accuracy, 99.39 F-score and 98.40 kappa value respectively.  相似文献

传统的情感分析研究通过分析, 确定词语、句子或篇章的情感, 但忽略了情感表达的主题。针对这一不足, 该文提出了一种基于双层CRFs模型的细粒度意见挖掘中维吾尔语意见型文本陈述级情感分析方法。第一层模型识别意见型文本中的主题词和意见词, 确定意见陈述的范围, 并将识别结果传递给第二层模型, 将其作为重要特征之一, 用于陈述级情感分析。细粒度意见挖掘中情感分析的目标是构建<意见陈述, 主题词, 意见词, 情感>四元组。该方法用于维吾尔语陈述级情感分析的准确率为77.41%, 召回率为78.51%, 证明了该方法在细粒度意见挖掘中情感分析任务上的有效性。  相似文献

Many muscular function assessments require the monitoring of muscular activity in different environments. This can happen in the gymnasium during a training session or while practising a sport; at work, where movements and specific actions are executed; at school, where the child adopts an incorrect posture, or even while we walk. In this paper, we propose a system to allow the assessment of the muscular condition in any of these environments in a comfortable and simple way for the patient and using the advances in wireless communications. Just a wireless biomonitor (we have used the ME6000 biomonitor, a medical portable equipment of very small dimensions) and one PDA or mobile phone with wireless interface are needed. The medical device is configured from the mobile device. Then, wireless communications are used to transmit online the electromyographic signals registered by the medical equipment to a mobile device. The specific protocol used by the medical device is implemented to carry out the communication. There are two ways to configure the system: offline and online. In offline mode, once all the information is received, it is sent to a server using a connection to the Internet instead of the online way, where this information is sent simultaneously. The server includes a background application to process the information in real-time with the aim to evaluate the function of the muscle during the exercise and to establish healthy behaviours for the patient. Then, this information can be consulted by the specialist and also by the client using the PDA or mobile phone to show the report. A prototype of this system has been developed and implemented. The system has been evaluated by a preliminary usability, reliability, feasibility and communication performance study.

The Standard Shiftwork Index (SSI) provides shiftwork researchers with a standardised battery for assessing the impact of shiftwork on psychological and physiological well-being. We review the published SSI literature and evaluate the extent to which the results of these publications support the model underpinning the SSI. A total of 70 SSI publications were identified, of which 41 were selected. The 41 studies were published between 1993 and 2006 and had a combined total of 21,420 respondents. The analysis indicated support for parts of the SSI model, particularly in relation to the impact of shift systems design on individual well-being, as well as the role of individual factors (e.g., personality, coping style). However, evidential support for the model as a whole is incomplete. The findings of the reviewed studies are summarised and methodological limitations are discussed.  相似文献

Cyberchondria describes excessive online health searches associated with increased emotional distress. While previous research has examined various antecedents of cyberchondria, how regular online health information seeking (OHIS) turns into cyberchondria has received minimal theoretical attention. This study proposes a theoretical model that illuminates the processes of cyberchondria development among individuals who are anxious about their health. Results from an online survey of 426 Chinese Internet users lend support to the proposed theoretical model, which posits perceived health threat of common symptoms as a trigger of health anxiety that motivates OHIS through the perception of information insufficiency. In this process, positive source beliefs strengthen the effect of information insufficiency on OHIS. This study further identifies negative metacognitive beliefs as a boundary condition for how regular OHIS results in cyberchondria. By conceptualizing the processes of cyberchondria development, this integrative model provides guidance for future theory development and testing in this new research area.  相似文献
