Heat transfer and fluid flow of He II in a long, narrow channel connected to a bath that supplies a constant supply of heat have been investigated by numerical simulations by using the simplified model of Kitamura et al. [Cryogenics 37 (1) (1997) 1]. Such channels are used to cool compact, stable, low-temperature magnets. The fluid flow is driven by natural convection and the mutual friction between the normal fluid and the superfluid.In this model, the thermomechanical effect and the Goter-Mellink mutual friction balance each other. A consequence of this balance is that the velocity and temperature distributions of He II can be characterized by a dimensionless, dependent parameter equal to the ratio of the fluid speeds of internal convection to the total fluid flow. After a sudden application of heat flux, the internal convection dominates over the total fluid flow until the establishment of steady-state temperature gradients. This predicts that the time required to set up the steady-state total fluid flow is proportional to the total heat capacity in the channel.  相似文献

Poly(2,4‐dimethyl‐1,4‐phenylene oxide) (PPO), poly(benzo[1,2‐d:5,4‐d′]bisoxazole‐2,6‐diyl‐1,4‐phenylene) (PBO) and poly(benzo[1,2‐d:4,5‐d′]bisthiazole‐2,6‐diyl‐1,4‐phenylene) (PBZT), which are polymers with extended conjugated structures, undergo a self‐sensitized photo‐induced electron‐transfer reaction. A second component is not required. This article presents many similar observations on these polymers when they are exposed to light and evidence to support the proposed photo‐induced electron‐transfer mechanism. Methods to stabilize these polymers against photo‐oxidation are also described. Workers investigating other conjugated polymeric systems may find the experimental methods, observations and polymer stabilization approaches discussed in this review useful. In this article, a simple and inexpensive experimental technique easy to build in laboratory, for the measurement of tortuosity of a packed bed of inert particles, is described. Experimental values of the tortuosity were obtained with four different packed beds of sand. The experimental results obtained are in good agreement with the theoretical values of tortuosity in a porous media; and the data reported showed the tortuosity to increase with decrease in the void fraction of the packed bed as expected.  相似文献

An approximate method is presented for predicting the effect of a louvered blind on the centre‐glass thermal performance of a fenestration. The method combines a one‐dimensional heat transfer model with data from a numerical simulation of the window and blind. Sample results for a blind mounted on the indoor surface of a window show the effect of blind slat angle on heat transmission. Both summer and winter conditions are considered. The results show that a louvered blind can improve the U‐value of a standard double‐glazed window by up to 37%. Also, the radiation heat exchange with the room can be dramatically reduced (by up to 60%), which will improve the level of occupant comfort. However, there was found to be a trade‐off between U‐value and occupant comfort; placing the blind closer to the window improves the U‐value, but increases the radiation heat exchange with the room. The predictions from the present simplified method compare well with results from a full two‐dimensional computational fluid dynamics solution of the conjugate blind/window interaction. Branched polyacrylonitrile (PAN) was prepared through a self‐condensing vinyl copolymerization of acrylonitrile and 2‐(2‐bromopropionyloxy)ethyl acrylate (BPEA). The branched architecture of the product was confirmed by NMR spectra and the average degree of branching (DB ) was estimated. Through a comparison of the intrinsic viscosity of the product with that of its linear analogue, the contraction factor g′ was calculated. 研究燃料汽车及其氢源系统是当今国内外能源工业与汽车工业的共同课题,而优选制氢能源则是这一课题的关键。章介绍了利用能源、经济、环境(EEE)——生命周期评估(LCA)这一综合评估方法,针对以天然气、煤或石油作为制氢能源的多种燃料电池氢源供应方式以及配套的燃料电池汽车系统,从经济性、能源利用效率和环境影响三个方面进行了生命周期清单分析和EEE综合评价。结果显示:天然气作为发展燃料电池汽车氢源的一次能源,具有氢制取技术路线多样化、经济上竞争力强、能源利用效率高和环境效益好等诸多优势,应为燃料电池汽车的首选制氢能源。对这一评估模型的敏感性分析显示,即使在天然气价格波动较大时,天然气制甲醇--甲醇车载重整车和天然气制氢--纯氢车这两个方案仍然最具优势。  相似文献

Fluorescent photon down conversion for the improvement of the blue response of ZnO/CdS/Cu(In,Ga)Se2 heterojunction solar cells and modules is investigated. Fluorescent dyes of the series Lumogen® F are analyzed by optical transmission and reflection as well as by photoluminescence measurements. A spectral transfer matrix formalism is introduced that allows to predict the suitability of a luminescent dye as a down-converter for a given solar cell from its absorption/emission properties. We find that Lumogen® F Violet 570 and Lumogen® F Yellow 083 as well as a combination of both yields improvements for Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar modules. Particularly, we find that the short circuit current density of a Cu(In,Ga)Se2 mini-module is improved by 1.5 mA cm− 2 when applying a varnish with a combination of Lumogen® F Violet and Yellow. About 0.5 mA cm− 2 of this improvement is due to a reduced overall reflectance and an improvement of 1 mA cm− 2 results from the frequency conversion by the dyes.  相似文献
