The Addition of Carbon Nanotube on the Tensile Properties of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced PEEK Composites

The main objective of this paper is to develop high strength resistance carbon fiber-reinforced polyether ether ketone (PEEK) composites with the addition of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT). These compounds were well mixed in a Haake batch mixer, and compounded polymers were fabricated into sheets of known thickness by compression moulding. Samples were tested for tensile properties with respect to different concentration of fillers. The tensile properties of these samples depend on filler aspect ratio. The tensile fracture surface has been examined using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Photomicrographs of the worn surfaces revealed the effect of the addition of carbon nanotubes. Also, better interfacial adhesion between carbon and vinyl ester in carbon reinforced vinyl ester composite was observed. 相似文献

This paper studied the characteristics of wet air oxidation (WAO) on polyether as non-ionic surfactant and analyzed its main intermediates. The results showed that, WAO was an effective method to treat non-ionic surfactants like polyether; temperature played a decisive role throughout the process: the COD removal percentage within 2 h was only 33.5% at 160 °C, 57.2% at 200 °C, and 94.4% at 240; fatty acid was the major intermediate, and oxidation of acetic acid was the key rate-determining step during fatty acid oxidation, and the oxidation of fatty acid could be accelerated by rising the temperature as well as elongating the reaction time. Meanwhile, oxidative decomposition of polyether and oxidation on fatty acid were the rate-determining steps to the whole WAO process, the oxidation of polyether was relatively more limited at lower temperature; on the contrary, the oxidation of fatty acid and other organics was obviously more limited at higher temperature. 相似文献

Polymeric lithium salts of sulfonated polysulfone (SPSU(X)Li) were synthesized via post sulfonation route followed by ion exchange. A novel single ion conducting solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) was prepared by curing poly(ethylene glycol)diglycidyl ether (PEGDGE) with 4,4′ diaminodiphenyl sulfone (DDS) in SPSU(X)Li matrix. The ionic conductivity, thermal stability and tensile properties were investigated as a function of degree of sulfonation and PEGDGE concentration. The introduction of lithium sulfonate groups in polysulfone promoted compatibility of SPSU(X)Li and PEGDGE in SPE. AFM analysis demonstrated heterogeneous phase morphology and reduction in size of dispersed PEGDGE phase with increasing degree of sulfonation. The interactions between lithium sulfonate and polyether epoxy improved thermal stability of the epoxy network. The enhanced compatibility also caused improvement in elongation at break compared to neat SPSU(X)Li. The higher Li+ ion concentration and the segmental mobility of the polymer chains above Tg contributed to the high ionic conductivity at high temperature in the single ion conducting SPE. 相似文献

The present study aims to assess the proton conductivities of the most investigated proton exchange membranes (PEMs) used in PEM fuel cells (PEMFCs). Specifically, PEMs are analyzed for their use in anhydrous fuel cells and proton conductivity upper bounds were provided for them. Considering the direct relationship between proton conductivity and temperature, an upper bound is presented. Based on the obtained upper bounds, suitable membranes for high-temperature performance are determined, and the average range of proton conductivity for each polymer group is discussed. By comparing the available proton conductivity data with upper bound, it was demonstrated that some of poly (ionic liquid)s have provided the highest proton conductivities, however aromatic polymers such as polybenzimidazole (PBI) are found more suitable choices for application at anhydrous conditions and high temperatures. The proton conductivity upper bound for anhydrous PEMs demonstrates the availability of promising polymer options for the deployment of anhydrous fuel cells. 相似文献

A 1 kW phosphoric acid fuel-cell (PAFC) stack with 30 cells, was designed, fabricated, assembled with “in-house” developed components at ERI, KACST, and successfully operated for 250 h. The stack was operated at 180°C, 1 bar, using commercial H2/CO2 gas and air. The electrical output power generated by the stack was 1 kW (20.5×50 A), with a current density of 125 mA/cm2 at an average cell voltage of 0.7 V. From the results of the successful operation of the stack, it was found that the stack was stable during the operation and the heat generated in the stack was sufficient to retain the temperature at 175 to 180°C without any external heating. To cool the stack, three cooling plates were used in the stack. Insulation was applied to the stack to get a more uniform temperature. The water formed in the stack was collected through the H2 gas outlets and air manifolds during the operation of the stack. As the temperature of the stack at the centre was slightly high, it is recommended introducing two more cooling-plates to achieve a more uniform temperature and better stack performance. 相似文献

以双酚A、甲醛和二乙烯三胺为原料,在70℃下反应60min,再在120℃,1.33kPa下脱水缩合得到酚胺树脂,然后以酚胺树脂为起始剂,与PO、EO反应合成了6种具有十八分支的PAE聚醚破乳剂。测定了所合成聚醚的表面张力及紫外吸收光谱。结果表明,PAE聚醚破乳剂降低表面张力的能力随EO质量分数的降低和起始剂与PO质量比的升高而增强;降低临界胶团浓度的能力随起始剂与PO质量比的增加及EO质量分数的降低而增强。室内评价表明,PAE聚醚破乳剂的最终脱水率随EO质量分数增加而升高,起始剂与PO质量比高的破乳剂脱水速度快。PAE84在40℃,加量20mg/L时,15min脱水率即达到80%,而相同条件下SP169基本无破乳效果。 相似文献
