Polyether polyols with flame-retardant properties are synthesized using glycerol phosphate disodium salt as an initiator and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a solvent. The molecular weight of the polyol decreased when higher solvent to initiator ratios were used, revealing that a larger amount of salt was activated. In addition, the larger the amount of activated salt was, the higher the percentage of phosphorous was in the final polyol. Glycerol phosphate disodium salt was still partially insoluble in the studied proportions of DMSO. Thus, the recovery and reuse of this part of the salt for the synthesis of new flame-retardant polyols were evaluated. The recovered salt promoted a shorter induction period because it presented a larger amount of deprotonated hydroxyl groups. In addition, there were no differences between both synthesized polyols, indicating that it is possible to use the recovered salt in the same way as it is used commercially with the advantage of a shorter induction period for polymerization. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This report evaluates a new family of pyridine containing aromatic polyether sulfones as polymer electrolytes for high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (HTPEM FCs). The polymers are prepared by high temperature polyetherification reactions, yielding highly soluble polymers even with pyridine contents as high as 90%. Along with the pyridine content, crosslinking density is also tuned, leading to the enhancement of membrane properties such as film integrity, dimensional stability and doping ability in acidic media. The completion of the crosslinking reaction is enabled by a short thermal pre-treatment, preceding the doping step in H3PO4 85%. Both the linear and the crosslinked membranes show high thermal and oxidative stability. Membranes before and after crosslinking are integrated in single cells where their conductivity and performance are monitored, revealing conductivities above 7 × 10−2 S/cm at temperatures higher than 180 °C.  相似文献

The focus of this paper was to explore the acoustic properties of flexible polyurethane (FPU) foam modified by palm‐oil‐based polyol (POP). The presence of POP showed a marked influence on the microstructure and mechanical properties of FPU foam. A smaller mean pore diameter can be observed at lower POP content. Indeed, the introduction of POP caused a higher closed pore ratio and an increased air‐flow resistivity, which consequently improved the sound absorption coefficient and transmission loss. In particular, the acoustic performance of the all bio‐based FPU foam was enhanced at low frequency, and the density was lower than that of the reference foam. Additionally, the addition of POP also improved the compressive strength. Conversely, the tensile strength of FPU foam declined with increasing POP content. From this study, the outstanding acoustic ability of bio‐based FPU foam has been proved, with additional advantages of lower density and higher compressive strength. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A solid-state hydrogen storage material comprising ammonia borane (AB) and polyethylene oxide (PEO) has been produced by freeze-drying from aqueous solutions from 0% to 100% AB by mass. The phase mixing behaviour of AB and PEO has been investigated using X-ray diffraction which shows that a new ‘intermediate’ crystalline phase exists, different from both AB and PEO, as observed in our previous work (Nathanson et al., 2015). It is suggested that hydrogen bonding interactions between the ethereal oxygen atom (–O–) in the PEO backbone and the protic hydrogen atoms attached to the nitrogen atom (N–H) of AB molecules promote the formation of a reaction intermediate, leading to lowered hydrogen release temperatures in the composites, compared to neat AB. PEO also acts to significantly reduce the foaming of AB during hydrogen release. A temperature-composition phase diagram has been produced for the AB-PEO system to show the relationship between phase mixing and hydrogen release.  相似文献

In this contribution, castor oil polyols with functionality of f = 2.7 and f = 2 are used as soft segments (SS) for synthesizing polyurethane elastomers (PUEs) without addition of petroleum-based polyol. The effect of molar ratio of castor oil polyols on structure and properties of PUEs has been investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic mechanical analysis, X-ray diffraction, tensile, swelling, and water absorption tests. The results reveal that hydrogen bonding mainly exists in hard segments (HSs) and weakens with decreasing the molar percentage of castor oil polyol (f = 2.7) in SS. T g of SS decreases while T g of HS remains constant as molar percentage of castor oil polyol (f = 2.7) decreased. The initial degradation temperatures (T5%) are above 300 °C and independent of the molar ratio of castor oil polyols. However, the temperature at 50% weight loss (T50%) decreases significantly as molar percentage of castor oil polyol (f = 2.7) decreased. The dissolution of refrigerant into a lubricant causes a decrease in viscosity of the oil and it gives a large effect on the lubrication of sliding parts in a refrigerant compressor. This paper describes an application of micro FT-IR to measure the two-dimensional concentration distribution of refrigerant held in solution in the EHL film surrounded by the refrigerant gas and discusses the refrigerant concentration variation in the vicinity of the Hertzian contact area. In order to measure the concentration distribution, an apparatus which can observe the EHL film in a point contact in the refrigerant atmosphere was developed. The refrigerant concentration was measured using micro FT-IR through a CaF2 window from outside of the apparatus with polyol ester as a base oil in an atmosphere pressurized with HFC-134a refrigerant gas. The results indicate that the concentration of HFC-134a refrigerant reduces in the inlet boost region of EHL contact and the Hertzian contact area but in the side region of Hertzian contact area it is greater than that in the bulk fluid. In addition, the effect of the variation on the oil film thickness is discussed.  相似文献

以苯基膦酰二氯(BPOD)和乙二醇(EG)为原料合成含磷长链二元醇(P-polyol),用于制备含磷本质阻燃硬质聚氨酯泡沫塑料(RPUF),研究了P-polyol对聚氨酯泡沫塑料性能的影响。结果表明,使用P-polyol制备的聚氨酯泡沫,含磷量为1.82%时,极限氧指数达到24.7%;微型燃烧量热仪(MCC)测试显示,燃烧过程的热释放容量、总热释放量和热释放峰值均有所下降。热重分析(TGA)结果显示,在氮气中热分解后700℃的残炭量为22.6%,在空气中热氧化分解后700℃的残炭量为17.0%,较纯RPUF均提高了1倍以上。阻燃后聚氨酯泡沫的压缩强度比空白组提高了130%,并保持了原有的冲击强度,这一优点是众多添加型阻燃剂难以实现的。  相似文献
